Suzuki AGS Actuator Fluid Change

  • This video will demonstrate Suzuki AGS hydraulic fluid change process on Suzuki Alto 660cc HA36S.
    According to Suzuki, AGS actuator fluid is a lifetime fluid hence you won't find any change interval in owner's manual. Also, dealerships usually don't have any clue when asked for it.
    In my opinion, no fluid is a lifetime fluid. You can see in the video that actuator fluid color became slightly dark and gritty since I changed it at 3 years mark. After 5 years, it becomes really dark.
    A common recommendation I have seen on Japanese websites is to change the actuator fluid after 5 years or 50,000 km which ever comes first.
    The part No. for the hydraulic actuator fluid is Suzuki 99000M24121-135 which I was not able to find at any Suzuki dealership. Also, its aftermarket alternate was hard to find.
    After lengthy search, I was able to find "AHF 22 S" by a company Addinol. It could be used where Suzuki 99000M24121-135 is recommended and many others.
    addinol.de/products/product-f...
    You can buy this product from Addinol's official daraz store

      I changed the AGS gear oil last year, but couldn't record it due to shortage of time. I will try to it next time.
      Guard brake fluid is fine. I replaced my brake fluid a couple of days back with Guard DOT 4 (you can safely use DOT 4 where DOT 3 is recommended). So far the experience is good. Make sure you buy genuine Guard product. I bought mine from Daraz because they have a Flagship store, and you will get original product guaranteed.

    • @pastewax-pk
      @pastewax-pk  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@torb69
      Brake fluid goes down progressively as the brake pad wears out. Since you have crossed 45k, you must change the brake fluid. Brake fluid change interval is 40k or 2 years, whichever comes first. Follow it strictly to avoid rusting in the brake lines. You need 1 liter for flush.
      Yes, I changed the gear oil with OEM ecstar. I changed it 1 or 2 year back I guess and at that time its cost was PKR 16,500. Unfortunately, prices have gone up massively. But still, if you think that it could be used up to 60k km, it's fine.

      Using a scan tool to discharge the oil is the official method to change the actuator fluid. But the question one should ask is, should I spend that much money on an expensive scan tool as a DIY person?
      If you don't use a scanner to discharge oil, not all the fluid will be replaced using my method. This is why I changed the fluid again after a couple of months.

    why did manufacturers of this car make it without available Actuator fluid? Every car model should be accompanied by its spare parts and replaceable fluids once it is rolled out from the factory. Making a car whose spare parts are not available is equal to spelling doom on the same car who would you wish to own such car? Again this AGS gearbox needs lots of improvement where i come from, the car is reporting unusual gearbox failures and buyers would not buy the same car again, given another chance. Manufacturer of this car should act on this before it is too late.

    • @pastewax-pk
      @pastewax-pk  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Suzuki OEM actuator fluid is not available in my country (Pakistan). Even though Suzuki is officially doing business here. Apart from that all spare parts are available. Not sure why they don't offer actuator fluid. On the other hand, it's easily available in India.
      If you talk about failures, the majority of the modern automatic transmissions are a mess. Almost all of them fail at early stages. I am referring to CVT, DCT, Suzuki AGS. The only automatics that are reliable are traditional torque converter based planetary 4, 5, or 6 speed gear boxes (Disclaimer: make sure you research common vehicle issues before purchasing because not everything with 4, 5, 6 speed is reliable). Even 8, 9, or 10 speed gear boxes are crap.
      The truth is we have to learn to live with these automatics. You should learn to drive and maintain them to prolong its life as much as possible.
      In case of Suzuki AGS, I drive in manual mode all the time because when I let the computer do the shifting specially on speed bumps or stop and go traffic, it slips the clutch a lot in 2nd gear. This is why vehicles with Suzuki AGS premature clutch failure is very common.
      In case of CVTs, never drive aggressively. If you drive in hilly areas a lot, avoid this transmission. Use obd2 device to monitor CVTF temp since they rise crazy high quickly. Personally I saw temperatures rising up to 116C when I was taking the vehicle uphill at speeds of 10~20 kph for an hour due to poor road conditions. This is where you have to stop the vehicle. Using an external cooler is another option. If your vehicle ever faces such temperatures, you should change CVT fluid as soon as the trip ends.
      Apart from that strictly follow manufacturer's recommended CVTF change interval. In case of Hondas, it's usually 2 years or 40,000 km which ever comes first.
      The point is you can modify your driving behavior and strictly maintain the transmissions in order to prolong its life.

      Is posible to find many hidraulic fluid better than original, like Ravenol GHA-F, Pentosin CHF 11s and many others.
      I bought all the parts for the AMT/AGS actuator for no more than Us$600 dollars.
      One scanner with all the learning and maintenance funtions for cars with AMT/AGS.
      My car is a 2019 Suzuki Celerio, remove the AMT/AGS module is very simple in my car If you need some fix on it.
      Removing three nuts only plus battery holder, is very easy to do.
      Best Regards.

    If you have MGP parts distributor you can order the genuine fluid from there and the one you used is for automatic transmission which is totally not correct for this type of actuator. Ecstar fluid has special branded AMT fluid available on order at maruti parts outlet, only that should be used otherwise there is leak in the seal. I am telling you this as i have faced leak issue very recently

      The one I used is not ATF fluid. It's hydraulic fluid which fulfills the requirement of Suzuki actuator fluid Part No. Suzuki 99000M24121-135. You can check the ADDINOL AHF 22 S Specifications/Approvals from their website which I shared in the description. Sharing the product page here again

      The MGP distributor you are referring to is in India. I am from Pakistan, and I was not able to find OEM fluid anywhere.

      Ye baat yaad rakhna k ye actuator fluid hai, gear oil dosara hota hai jo gear box k neechay sy change hota hai. Ap ko dono change krwa lynay chahiye.
      AGS ka gear oil sirf Suzuki dealership sy milay ga aur us ki price 3 liter ki PKR 18,000 tak ho gi aj kal. Ap pata kr lyna.
