You should have used a GL-4 Specification gear oil GL-5 spec oils contains Extreme pressure additives designed to be used in rear differentials specially and not in synchronised manual transmissions.... If you use this in a synchronised manual transmissions it will lead to corrosion and oxidation of the brass synchronizers thus slowly eating them and over the time the shifts would also get notchy and at the end the synchronizers would have to get replaced... Hope you will certainly let the community know about it soon otherwise many people may suffer using this transmission fluid...
GL-5 has roughly twice the amount of EP additives compared to GL-4, which is why it is often used in high-pressure circumstances such as in a front axle and rear axle differential. Sulphur/Phosphorus additives however have an unfavourable property: they can react aggressively towards bronze and copper. This can be disastrous for the synchromesh rings of a gearbox. Therefore it is not recommended to use GL-5 in a gearbox unless the manufacturer allows this.
The square tool is 10 by 10 mm. As said in the video, gear oils tend to degrade in viscocity due shearing off by life-functioning (moving around in the box). If a thinner oil comes out that the oil filled in, it was already degraded. Wining noises out of a hot gearbox point to worn bearings mostly. Greets, Louis
I dont think so, i had Hyundai i30 and Suzuki Swift (european model not indian) and gear shift on Suzuki feels more tight and precise. Only reverse sometimes is tricky

I was also facing this issue in my swift 2013 (44k) and after consulting in the MS Workshop also they denied to do and asked to do after 1 lakh kms but i didn't hear them and I changed it and drastically i felt the change. It was a huge difference. My gears were lagging so much but now almost all the lag has gone.
Brother, Normally engine oil for swift diesel comes in 2.5litre pack and the actual capacity is 2.6litre. Will there be any problem if we fill 2.5 litres only?
Thank you for your wonderful video. I replaced my gear oil in my ignis 1.2 k series petrol which is the same a swift 73x 71.5 mm bore x stroke. The gear oil drain bolt went Full in but the filler bolt did not go fully in the mechanic said it's nothing to worry, does not the filler bolt go fully in, as I can see a few threads of the bolt, I felt its only half way through or is it all. Is the drain plug and filler plug for the swift/ ignis 10mm box head or is it 10mm box head for only the drain nut and a different size for the filler plug nut.please reply reply.
If you open the car door on the driver side, the AGS fluid is sucked from the reservoir under the bonnet. Keep the Bonnet unlocked overnight, do not unlock the car in the morning. Open the bonnet use a syringe and small pipe to suck out the AGS fluid from the reservoir and refill equal amount back. Do this again once more the next day after few KMs use.

Hi Aniruddha, 10W-30 is the recommended grade and the TVS Tru4 fully synthetic oil is good for its price. You can also go with 10W-40 grade synthetic oils. Which Motul oil are you using?

Excellent narration and information. The factory filled transmission oil in the Kseries 1.2 lit engines is Ecstar, Made in Japan, to the best of my knowledge. A very high quality oil, no doubt. However, not really a follower of the suggested “one lakh km oil change interval” 30,000 Km is a good interval, imho. No substitute for clean fresh oil of the correct specification.

@@thesportztourer i m getting weird sound from my rtr 200 since thursday evening just after servicing from tvs service center.. it wasn't present even upto this Wednesday.. the servicing guy was telling me to leave the bike with them but i was afraid to take that risk after this incident.. upon personal checking i found that my engine is crying at 30kmph in 2nd gear.. i hv recorded the sound in my phone.. however if i shift the gear to 3rd at 26-27 kmph then no sound occurs.. later the sound again reappears at higher speed like 70kmph in 4-5th gear..

Please don't use GL-5 in the GL-4 gearbox. GL-5 is used differential where EP(Sulphur and Phosphorus) additives are high compared to GL-4. The side effect of using GL-5 in the gearbox is it slowly corrodes/react with Brass and Copper. Please check for ASTM D130 of GL-5 and GL-4 before using it in the Gearbox(Refer to your Car manual).
Hi i was lookimg for gear oil grade for my 2014 k series 1.0ltr wagon r..75w90 is good for my car or i should use different..? Because gear oil grade is not mentioned in service manual also. Brother gear oil is 1 litre for wagon r 2.9 litre of engine oil only Don't change the gear oil every 20000km It's recommendation is to change every 10years or 160000km

I've always replaced the transmission oil on my i10 after every 40k kms and it has definitely helped to keep the gears smooth working well. 👍

My personal experience with Motul Motylgear is fine but I am yet to try Ecstar so can't really comment.

Turns out it's a clutch issue. The problem does not occur if your dump the cluch 7-10 times at idle at cold start in neutral.

You can continue with the same oil for a year. Its a good practice to run the engine once in a while.

For which car? The primary difference is between the additive package in GL4 and GL5, the base oil can be of similar stock.

Please don't use GL-5 in the GL-4 gearbox. GL-5 is used differential where EP(Sulphur and Phosphorus) additives are high compared to GL-4. The side effect of using GL-5 in the gearbox is it slowly corrodes/react with Brass and Copper.
Please check for ASTM D130 of GL-5 and GL-4 before using it in the Gearbox(Refer to your Car manual).

Hi i was lookimg for gear oil grade for my 2014 k series 1.0ltr wagon r..75w90 is good for my car or i should use different..? Because gear oil grade is not mentioned in service manual also.
Addition : yeah i feel same, after gear oil change gear shift becomes very smooth and soft for first 5-6k km and when it comes near to 15k-20k gear shifting makes noise, and gears feel like scratching somewhere. No matter how i change them.. So i keep changing gear oil on every 20k km, last time my mechanic used all 2.9 ltr mobile oil in gear.. And u said it requires 2.2ltr, over feeling will cause any issues?

It's recommendation is to change every 10years or 160000km
@@hspravinbhat it feels gear shifting is not smooth.. It makes some noise while shifting. If i will change gear oil now it will become smooth again. It happens after every gear oil change for few km like for 5000-10000km, after that smooth ness starts decreasing
