Just a quick something for AMT users: Since most of our drivers are accustomed to manual vehicles, it does take a bit of an adjustment when considering automatic transmission vehicles like the AMT. There's something called rev matching, and if that's not done, you tend to feel the gear shifts. Just like in manual mode, when you know its about time to shift the gear (by listening to the rising rpm), release the accelerator gently for the system to get the clutch activated do the shift, and give it a go again as it climbs through the next gear. Avoid depressing the accelerator to make jump starts (especially at the front of the line at signal stops). Always be a gradual user of the accelerator pedal. AMT is a boon, but not a heavy duty transmission system, and it has it's issues. But if you take care of your driving patterns, you will have a more comfortable ride. This way, the system and the car occupants will find the comfort of being in a smoother vehicle and avoid the uncompromising jerks.
I am driving wagon r ags since last two months; and I found it most relaxed driving experience as well as it gave me 25 km/liter of petrol on highway. thanks to maruti-Suzuki for ags technology. 👍
Congrats and Thats a great mileage !! I own a wagonr LXi Manual Transmission. Got 25kmpl on highway by driving without ac and 60-80kmph speeds and very light braking and slow acceleration. Please comment on your driving style ? without ac ?

The problem with the Ignis is that the system seems to have been designed to be attached to an existing manual gearbox rather than a specially designed one with closer ratios. As the leap from first to second is quite a jump on an Ignis, the change is jerky. The system also lacks the creep that you get with a fully automatic transmission and it develops a judder on take up over time. Without a strong creep, you have to use a modified technique for hill starts, finding an acceleration point that the car will accept while you simultaneously release the handbrake.
That is right I am using Ignis delta amt in the last five years. Gear shifts are jerky. As soon as I hit the highway immediately switch to manual mode. That mode is pretty good and useful in overtaking.
Toyota used this system in the MR2 SMT in the 2001-2007. Ferrari used this on cars in the early 90s I think. But HPU and GSA should be on a sequencial type of gearbox and not a nutral gate between every gear. Race car style
I am using Celerio AMT past 7 years, 70,000/- Kms. Due to break down, I am changing new AGS unit cost Rs. 80,000/-. Life of AGS is 70,000 kms. AGS running cost is Rs1/- per KM extra. Be careful before buying AGS/ AMT. It is better to buy IMT.

Mechanic ko dikaya tha usne wiring ki problem bta tikh kr diya or sath hi clutch set change kr diya . Thode din toh tikh cali car but again recently same problem aa gayi. Koi solution nahi mil raha .help kro kuch.
Its still a nightmare to use, with those actuator, sensors, and solenoids. It was a very good gearbox, driving with amt is a pleasure! But , When the milage pass 100k, pumps Stop working, , sensor become dirty, actuator broken, same problem by almost all amt's gearbox. Yet they have to be treated as a manual transmission service schedule, with additional fluids, and sensor to be replaced. And you have to focus maintain the gearbox rather than the engine it self. Its a painful. But yet it still a great box.
What kind of automatic transmission was put into Vitara S 1.4 in 2018? Is it this one? Am I allowed to longer stops at N gear or it should not run at N at all times like old classic AT?

From 1 to 2 still okay. But from 2 to 3 and 3 to 4, the shift RPM is too short/early. And I can feel that the engine kind of underpowered when 2 to 3 and so on... Suzuki SPresso
I owe a 2019 Vitara 1400 Boosterjet 6 speed automatic allwheel drive. Perfect allround car. I drove the new 1500 cc Hybrid Vitara with these automated transmission. I will not buy that at any time, its a total disaster as a combination. No match for the hydraulic 6 speed auto.
I drive the new Vitara strong Hybrid with AGS since 2 months and it works perfectly for me in city, countryside roads and highways. Easy to drive and efficient.
AGS is AMT naam badal do people will confuse. in business people say if you cant convence customer confuse them. AGS is AMT I can also say like AGST: Advance Gear shift technology. or Inteligence gear shift IGS.
They have, and due to customer backlash are dropping them. Fords dual clutch automaed box is rubbish and VWs DSG is also terrible and hugely expensive to repair when the clutches wear out. If you must have a manual get a clutch pedal one.
Very poor solution for Vitara 4x4, even in light offroad conditions.The smell of a burnt clutch is very unpleasant. Hydrodynamic converter in old Vitara S is much better.
This is the worst technology..... My Suzuki Celerio VXI 2014 purchased from AMW in Sri Lanka, has done only 83000 and this AMT unit is defective as per AMW. If Your company cant maintain the quality of vehicles sold it's sad. At least AMW should be given replacement units for defective items.

Owning a Suzuki dezire with this AGS system for a while now , comparing it to your (Ciaz) with it's standard AT 4 speeds normal gearbox ... No , thanks ... Ciaz normal 4 speeds AT gearshift is way better and easier to use with no doubt !! and both are your cars ! It's a big marketing joke from Suzuki about the fuel consumption between both ( and i have derived both) , it's nearly the same consumption just with maybe +1 liter/100KM for Ciaz !! No big deal at all .... not the big diff to use AGS over 4 speeds normal AT .
i bought one of this ags transmission car for my father no problem when ags actuators get broken i will buy new one gear shift feels smoother then other cars which i drive yet benz s500 2003 accord 2002 nissan 2001 bmw x5 2008 in other hand old auto trans have internal sensors and solonides box of very thin clutches which is hard to repair low torque bad mileage and always you need to remove transmission out of the car to repair or remove oil pan i think its batter to have all electronic components out side easy to reach and repair them

In Pakistani Cultus AGS, there is builtin issue that the Clutch plate / Pressure plate fails after several thousand km drive and gear shift from 2nd to 3rd gear becomes jerky.. Is there a solution to it????
