Also - the fun doesn't wear out. I've been driving my 2013 Model S P85+ every day for the last 7 years, and I love it more each day. Now when I get into an internal combustion car, it always feels like there's something wrong because of the noise, vibration & throttle lag. Once you go EV, you never go back. The glass roof isn't a problem at all in the sun - the tinting they have is extremely effective. It would be nice if they could come up with some kind of extremely insulated glass.

Model 3 especially in California where gas prices are high around $5.50 per gallon is really worth it since there is basically zero maintenance and you will save a lot by not spending money on gasoline at all.
Same here, but the car is still too expensive for me. I can afford one, but I'm not paying 56K for a car. The day they make a model 3 for 25K, then maybe. Otherwise, too much for a car.
The problem is it still takes like 8 years for an electric car to getch up to the price of a fuel efficient gasoline car. And then what if the battery dies. Then the cost jumps up even more. Currently i dont think they are worth the cost yet. You are still better off to get a pzev combustion car.
I drove a performance I really want to love this car but for over 60k some things just felt cheap. They need a heads up display and a few things to set one off from the other, other than paint color, but the acceleration on the 3 performance is amazing. Took me only a few minutes to get used to the braking and zero drift. Don't think they have active head lighting either. I have faith in Musk and I think this car will evolve . I test drove one today, same color as this one you tested. RWD set up. I felt the same way with some of those finishes that felt cheap, and personally I felt the seats also felt kind of cheap. Driving it, we had the regen braking and it was harsh at slow speeds. I also find the tablet to be very distracting. Acceleration in this car though was fun and steering certainly is accurate. I think if it was significantly less, it could be better. I’m glad I got to experience it today though, I was certainly curious on all the hype. I don’t think I could personally purchase one.
I test drove one of these last year. I didn't expect it to feel so light, smooth, and like a normal car. Like the way you described the accelerator pedal is how I feel. It felt as light as my Civic. The lack of a heads up display in front of the driver is a major Zonk. The screen is a single point of failure, and even though it is probably designed very well, I still want the driver information separated from all other entertainment options. That's why I'm probably going for Ford's Mach E. The model S has a much more agreeable interior layout.
No joe. You are absolutely right about the instrumentation not being in front of you. It's a safety concern as well that .4 seconds to look over can cause an accident.

Every video I’ve watched on the model 3 doesn’t show if the back seat has a 60/40 split. I’m assuming it has it since that’s pretty standard, but I want to actually see it in a video. So I said “Let me check Raiti’s Rides. He won’t disappoint”. Lo and behold, he forgot to show it on this video lol. Or maybe I’m wrong and this car doesn’t have that feature. Great review Joe! Always enjoy watching your car review. You look very enthusiastic and always enjoy doing your reviews. You need to do 1 more model 3 review, this time with the model 3 performance model. Dual motor with almost 500 hp. A Beast. I will be waiting for it. Thanks
It is so abundantly clear that Teslas or electric cars are not this guy's area of expertise but I do commend him for making a Model 3 review. I think next time he should do way more in depth homework about the features. For starters, he didn't show the compartment under the trunk and that was just the beginning of the many features he did not cover.
A great car. Would never buy a pre owned one from anyone but Tesla. They don’t like it if you don’t buy it from them. I drove a P100D and the performance was insane. I’ve driven some very fast cars but the torque from the electric motors can’t be described.
A previous coworker of mine got one when they came out in 2018. I sat in it and felt like I was transported back to the early 90's, with the exception of the 15 inch tablet. And as you noted, that steering wheel is atrociously, primitive and cheap. Seriously though, my 2018 Mazda 6 Grand Tourings interior is far superior to any Tesla. Lastly, I think the only thing thats attractive about Tesla is the EV aspect and how stupid fast it is. Awesome review as usual though!
@@RaitisRides if Tesla as a new company offered a 4 banger, turbo, no one would buy them. But since it's EV with a high price tag, they're gobbled up immediately.
Hey old fashioned dude, after you find your perfect seat setting, outside mirrors, steering wheel setting you save all your settings under your name in the tablet meaning your partner/ spouse can adjust to his/her preferences under their name so you do not have to constantly drill thru the tablet settings. There are many more features any owner would be happy to show them to you. Your review has only touched the basics. If you find this rear wheel drive fun, a dual motor performance version will be better than some amusement park rides.
I was originally going to buy a. Subaru Sti, but made the mistake of test driving a Tesla model 3 performance. Never made it back to Subaru after that. The the upkeep savings is ridiculous. My 2018 forester XT drank gas at $35-40 a tank. I’d have to fill it over 2-3 times a week since I drive a little over 100 miles per day. Switched over to my model 3, driving the same 100 miles per day, only cost $100 per month for charging!!! Plus no more oil to change! Cut my cost of fueling from $5000 to $1200 per year. It’s insane!
Every. And I mean every reviewer smiles and laughs whenever he/she drives one of these cars. For 50K and all of its quirks it may not be for everyone but it is interesting. Great review as always.
Now, this is a video worthwhile my time!!! When you can try the Model Y, which deliveries are starting this weekend. Also the Mach E. Like button smashed!!!!
A 55k dollar car is not accessible to the masses. These people make these cars that are supposed to help save the planet, but put a price tag on them that only few can afford. Doesnt make any sense.
My coworker has a Model 3 and I'm so jealous! Such an awesome car; great stylings, sick wheels, and that infotainment screen! Definitely one of my dream cars.
4:40 if you have your phone account pared, you don’t need that key, it’s only a back up... when you walk near the car, it detects the phone and locks/unlocks
i just ordered one won’t be ready till december. what’s revolutionary is it constantly becomes newer with the computer updates that tesla sends. you literally always have the newest technology is just a download away. very cool. i love your reviews 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
i agree with Raiti! drove the Tesla Model 3 RWD and it was OKAY... then i drove the Dual Motor AWD and that was much better but... very dull experience after about 10 minutes. the steering was good like you mentioned, but the suspension is not that nice compared to all the german cars ive driven/drive currently. overall i think if you drive a camry, accord, maxima... you will more than likely LOVE the tesla and EV experience in general - but if youre into cars and enjoy the engine, turbo, supercharger, exhaust noise and the personality from a vehicles gear box... you wont like it. i appreciate the car and EV experience but i am in love with turbo spool and a nice exhaust. i am not ready to sell my soul for a sterile daily driver experience.
Thanks for another great review Joe. I have been wondering if I should have gotten this Tesla rather than my fully loaded A220 For me, I made the right decision. And after seeing your review, I feel that way without a doubt.

I have to laugh. When you waived to the other model 3 and they didn’t waive back and you said jerk, that is me to a T. I’ll beep or waive at someone for whatever reason and if they don’t reciprocate I go, they didn’t waive back, jerks. LOL. Great Review Joe. I too am not in love with the Tesla INFOTAINMENT setup and no gauge cluster in the cockpit area. I also feel some of the options in the infotainment are ridiculous, like fart noises, and video games, etc. Hell, I think some of the feature in my new Ford Explorer and how much is controlled but by the screen or computer is a little overboard for a car, and I love tech! I am with you though, tech is great, but a car is just that, and you are supposed to be in it to drive, not to let it drive for you, or to play games and go online.
+Raiti's Rides The Performance Model for the Model 3 existed from the onset of introduction for this car from its launch in 2016. I zonk you for that misinformation in a usually flawless presentation. Keep the videos coming.
wow i expected more, definetly agree with you big zong for the interior and especially having instruments in the middle is insane if they want to do that they need heads up display with statistics, also i miss the engine noice aswell, and for that price i kinda preffer a Camaro! :D ps. That displey in the middle seems to be a lil too high i think and why did they change the model S vertical style it was so much better..
@@streetkiazNewMexico I will choose Camaro over this model 3 everyday of the week twice on sunday mate! I cant even compare them, even if you are not a fan of Chevy you can always go for a lot better cars, that model 3 is waaaaay to expensive for what it gives you! :)

Joe hands down you are my favourite reviewer! Are you going to be reviewing the s3 2022 sedan anytime soon? Was thinking of getting that car over the model 3
This car to me is kind of a car that people who aren't really car people think is a really cool car. But seemingly no deeper excitement. A very nice appliance. I can idle in traffic in a hemi something or another, or ease through traffic in a BMW inline 6 and be perfectly happy, without heavy acceleration. The Tesla can do the acceleration thing, but outside of that, I wonder if it makes a Camry look like it has soul. BTW: I wonder who recorded the fart sounds for posterity? Is Elon's sphincter part of recorded history?
Love the Model 3 we have at home - between instant torque, auto steer on the highway, less cost to fuel, no maintenance (except for brakes, tires and windshield fluid), less harmful to the environment, over the air updates, app capabilities, and much more. Wish it had two things - heads up display and ventilated seats. If it had those two things for me it would be a perfect car.
Like the review. However, that Tesla standard range plus is not a 55,000 dollar car. That’s a 39,900 dollar car with a paint upgrade for 1000. Full self driving would add 7000. But it’s not 55,000 bucks. It is not even the 49,000 they are charging used.
Elon musk did not start Tesla. He joined shortly after the roadster came out. Then the original founders stepped down and he took over. Musk did found space x. And his work there and his ambition drew the attention of tesla founders.
ObviousNoob11 only thing is finding a mechanic that can actually work on it . I love the Tesla designs , even the cyber truck . But I’ve only seen one charging spot out in public . ( no where near my usual drive.)
@@lelandphill4408 I mean, unless you live in the back woods of North Dakota, there are 10's of thousands of places to charge.... and then 10,000 designed just for Tesla's, and then of course.... your house. The car actually tells you where all the places you can charge are. There is no exhaust, no engine, no vacuum tubes, no oil, no transmission, no transmission fluid. The brakes last FAR FAR (years) longer than typical cars. Basically there is very little to go wrong and fix on a Tesla. Tires and such can be fixed by any normal mechanic. They are not perfect, by any stretch, but don't let maintenance keep you away. The insurance on them is very expensive... I don't like that much.
55k??? How could that be, I just bought mine brand new an it came out $52,133 lmao 🤣 damn they were more expensive back then 😂 mine is the standard range rwd model too
Great review thank you for being impressed and not zonking all over the car! I'm surprised that you were laughing and smiling while driving, saying how comfortable the seats were, plus the phenomenal steering, but still saying you aren't interested in owning one? I saw your Model X video and you were the same way. I've watched many of your videos and don't remember you ever being like that driving another ICE. It's like maybe you value your hearing a motor over all the other experiences of driving. Lots of inaccurate comments below which is sad. The car was made to be fun. That's how Elon describes it. It has so many cute and fun quirks, and things that make your life better. Also, regarding the heat, you can precondition the car to cool it down from wherever. The phone app, which you weren't able to experience, makes the car better x2. Plus the over the air updates. No other car gets better with age. The next bell or whistle you want, you have to trade (take the depreciation hit) and get a new model. Elon rolls changes out to the fleet. ALSO - in FL - when evacuations start for hurricanes, Elon turns on FREE supercharging and Over-the-air updates the car to reduce power so your range increases. No other CEO, or car company, does that to help the safety of their customers. There is no dash dials because the car is made to be autonomous. There are settings to ding at you when you reach the speed limit. Also the santa, farts, and many of the fun apps were not there when the car you drove was built. Those were all added later with OTA.
Thanks for this well thought out comment! I think what it is for me is that if I were to own one I think it would not be as fun because you are not able to just do full throttle all the time for that rush. In slow driving it feels like an electric golf cart.
Here's the deal and bare with me about the "quality and design of the materials". I always heard it's cheap for it price and it should have this and that, but I don't hear like in other EV or ICE cars that has poor infotainment and terrible performance that it's terrible for it's price?
I think it’s such a great car. Just bought a Model 3 after owning an Acura RDX for less then a year. I made the mistake - and test drove one. That was all she wrote

You are so very right!
You hit the nail on the head!
@@RaitisRides if Tesla as a new company offered a 4 banger, turbo, no one would buy them. But since it's EV with a high price tag, they're gobbled up immediately.
@@desertmike680 That is so very true,
I may not comment all the time anymore but for old times sake
RAITI GANG IS STILL HERE!!! And will always be
Hey old fashioned dude, after you find your perfect seat setting, outside mirrors, steering wheel setting you save all your settings under your name in the tablet meaning your partner/ spouse can adjust to his/her preferences under their name so you do not have to constantly drill thru the tablet settings. There are many more features any owner would be happy to show them to you. Your review has only touched the basics. If you find this rear wheel drive fun, a dual motor performance version will be better than some amusement park rides.
You should definitely try The Performance Version with new Track Mode V2 and hardware Track Package.
Thanks for sharing that great input from your experience!
I always love and enjoyed your reviews. Love the energy. And the attention to details.
Pedro Sanches thanks man! I’m going to bring it!
yep me 2
@@thinkabout602 Thanks for that!
Awesome car. Seems that they hold their resale value as you can get a new one for about the same price as used.
This is true!
A 55k dollar car is not accessible to the masses. These people make these cars that are supposed to help save the planet, but put a price tag on them that only few can afford. Doesnt make any sense.
It can't rain all the time I can understand where you are coming from.
The base model 3 is like 40k which is about the same as the average new car sold.
The most expensive part of the car is properly battery so that could explain the price tag. When other autos guy follow suit, the price will drop.
I test drove a Model 3 - I really was intrigued as well 👍
If I like this car and bought it I would change that screen to an 80” screen so I can watch Joe’s car review when I’m driving. Lol
My coworker has a Model 3 and I'm so jealous! Such an awesome car; great stylings, sick wheels, and that infotainment screen! Definitely one of my dream cars.
I am so glad that I can share it with you!
Thanks for showing us! Hopefully you can get a Model S on camera sometime.
12:33 or you can click left scroll wheel and say adjust left mirror
Thanks for the info!
4:40 if you have your phone account pared, you don’t need that key, it’s only a back up... when you walk near the car, it detects the phone and locks/unlocks
I appreciate you sharing that!
Wait for the performance version... :-)
I need to track one down!
i just ordered one won’t be ready till december. what’s revolutionary is it constantly becomes newer with the computer updates that tesla sends. you literally always have the newest technology is just a download away. very cool. i love your reviews 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
i agree with Raiti! drove the Tesla Model 3 RWD and it was OKAY... then i drove the Dual Motor AWD and that was much better but... very dull experience after about 10 minutes. the steering was good like you mentioned, but the suspension is not that nice compared to all the german cars ive driven/drive currently. overall i think if you drive a camry, accord, maxima... you will more than likely LOVE the tesla and EV experience in general - but if youre into cars and enjoy the engine, turbo, supercharger, exhaust noise and the personality from a vehicles gear box... you wont like it. i appreciate the car and EV experience but i am in love with turbo spool and a nice exhaust. i am not ready to sell my soul for a sterile daily driver experience.
Tesla was not started by Elon Musk. It was Marin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning. Elon joined in 2004.
That is the direction that I was going in. Thanks for the assist!
Thanks for another great review Joe. I have been wondering if I should have gotten this Tesla rather than my fully loaded A220 For me, I made the right decision. And after seeing your review, I feel that way without a doubt.
Landon F002 got the Mercedes 2020 A220. It really is a fun to drive, awesome car, with amazing technology.
Rave Reviewer ooof. IMO that was a ,mistake
SnowbirdSteeze That’s what makes horse racing. Drive happy
I love my Tesla
- I don’t miss engine noise
- love the minimalistic interior
Wished Tesla made an compact sedan/hatchback.
Thanks for doing this review! I’d actually head down to Reeves if I was in the market for a car. But thanks again.
I really appreciate you saying that!😊👍🏻
Raiti's Rides thanks for being so engaged with your followers. That’s a big reason why we keep coming back. Keep being genuine, it’s one of the best tRAITS to have. Cheers from Valrico! Ha
@@leea4624 I definetly will man!
I test drove the model 3 yesterday and boy did I love it .
Makes me think of a white good. A refrigerator, a good one, but...eh. I've got $100 down for the Cybertruck, but I don't expect to love the thing if/when I get it.
Waiting for the truck they threw the ball through the window lol
wow i expected more, definetly agree with you big zong for the interior and especially having instruments in the middle is insane if they want to do that they need heads up display with statistics, also i miss the engine noice aswell, and for that price i kinda preffer a Camaro! :D
ps. That displey in the middle seems to be a lil too high i think and why did they change the model S vertical style it was so much better..
I totally agree with you!
Camaro is straight ass conpared to this car. Open your eyes bruh
@@streetkiazNewMexico I will choose Camaro over this model 3 everyday of the week twice on sunday mate! I cant even compare them, even if you are not a fan of Chevy you can always go for a lot better cars, that model 3 is waaaaay to expensive for what it gives you! :)
@@АлександърКющеров smoking ur camaro at the light, thats worth it lmao
@@streetkiazNewMexico lets go to the highway to see who will smoke who, that tesla cant get over 140mph in the best case...
ps. Everyone has their own opinion, if you like it that much and are willing to spend 55k $ go ahead. Altough i do like Tesla and think that ev is the future i will not go for model 3 if they dont fix it, model X is the one i like.
Not a fan....every time I see one I think GM Pacer...... I haven’t driven one myself to be honest but I just like the sound of the engine when I drive. The dashboard in the center I’m fine with I had an old Saturn Ion and the Tesla is waaaaaaaay cooler so that I can adjust to. I just think it’s more hype than it deserves. But overall the Joe Raiti’s Rides review was perfect - thanks for the background on Musk and Tesla. I look forward to your next review.
Can you do the refreshed model 3 SR+? I wanna see what the base Tesla gets me.
I drove a model y in Vegas under 100 degrees hot sun and the glass roof didn't cook me up at all, I could actually stare at the sun, literally
I totally can see that happening!
JOE = outstanding report, I thought you said FUNK but it turns out you actually said FRUNK (laugh out loud) watch out for that real wood & splinters. stay Italian - tony
I am so glad that you like this one Tony!
If the model 3 can have a bit thicker window so it could have less wind noise
Thanks for sharing that great input and perspective!
Seems like you would be doing Model Y since 3 has been out for a very long time. The Y will be the big seller as it is a hot hatch.
I just haven't been able to get access!
Hate touch screen sorry. I could tolerate it if they at least give some physical buttons but I don't like the giant iPad in the middle of my car.
I always click his video just to hear this 1:47
Thanks man!
Like the review. However, that Tesla standard range plus is not a 55,000 dollar car. That’s a 39,900 dollar car with a paint upgrade for 1000. Full self driving would add 7000. But it’s not 55,000 bucks. It is not even the 49,000 they are charging used.
Thanks Scott!
Elon musk did not start Tesla. He joined shortly after the roadster came out. Then the original founders stepped down and he took over. Musk did found space x. And his work there and his ambition drew the attention of tesla founders.
Awesome review.. Was nice hearing that jingle bells turn signal reminder..Keep it up Joe...zonk zonk on the fart sound i dont like competition...lol..
You are freaking awesome and hilarious! Thanks for watching!
A 10 to 13 inch heads up display would go a long way in this car.
Best thing about Tesla... no dealership. There is one price and everyone pays the same. That alone is a reason to get one.
Can you review the model 3 performance please! 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
I will try to get that together for you!
Reeves, a typical Subaru dealer who also handles Ferraris, McLarens, and Teslas.
Litterly everyone: "it doesn't make vroom vroom noises "😂👀
Model 3 Performance or die! Why? I’ve had 2 P3D..and they are bomb.
Glad you got to check 1 out .
Hopefully one day the auto industry produces mid-wheel base compact-back sedan models. We need more sporty varieties. Hate cuvs. Lol
Your funny😂 It’s a car video but you got some jokes😂 Cup holders turned the wrong way got me😂
Wait..... how is this 55,000??? Is this an older one??
Bro you gotta do the Model 3 Performance .... smh
55k??? How could that be, I just bought mine brand new an it came out $52,133 lmao 🤣 damn they were more expensive back then 😂 mine is the standard range rwd model too
Not even long range? You overpaid 😂
This will be my first EV sedan to own Joe.
only about 300 mile range? is this in the summer, how about winter? how long does it take to charge?
LOL Santa Bells dingling and jangling. I love your reviews, keep it up!
Thanks my friend!
LOL good point!!
I floor mine almost on a daily basis. At least for a few seconds. Have the AWD. By far best car I have ever owned including my Corvette.
Here's the deal and bare with me about the "quality and design of the materials". I always heard it's cheap for it price and it should have this and that, but I don't hear like in other EV or ICE cars that has poor infotainment and terrible performance that it's terrible for it's price?
