Yes, the MT07 is a very good beginners bike, if you don't smash it into a transit van at 40mph like I did two days ago 😂

If you are in doubt, go ahead and get yourself an A2 MT07. I got the A2 licence 2 years ago (I'm 44 now) because I fell in love with the 2019 Ice fluo MT07. I had no previous road experience (I only had a 250cc GasGas when I was a teenager but that was almost 30 years ago haha) and man, I'm enjoying this damn bike. At first I was afraid I would never get used to it but it's a very easy and fun bike to ride. But it can kill you pretty fast too, if you are not aware of some issues with the MT07, like it not having a slipper clutch. Basically, if you don't rev match while downshifting you will lock the rear tire and die. Oh and it's a fast bike, even restricted; I can pull 140km/h in 4th and 180ish in 6th gear. Not bad for what I use it for, which is commuting and short rides around my zone. Hope this helps. Cheers from Spain.
Got my 2022 MT07 this spring and rode 8000km this summer and loved every second of it. Started to learn them wheelies too :D

Instantly when i sat on on the new 2023 mt07 in driving school i knew i am getting one.Evem tho its A2 restricted its still got so much fucking torque and its easy to control at low speed .I can say it was love at first sight haha
It really is such a great bike, I would have another one anyday!
Being real it's literally between this bike and the Yamaha Tracer (which is literally this bike but with adventure / touring fairings)
I go to do my A2 license on the 12th of June!

MT-07 is really good if you don’t know what type of motorbike you want to ride.
- It can be restricted.
- It has good riding position
- It has some „spice” when you give it more gas, but won’t kill you that easy.
I also REALLY reccomend Honda CBR650F if you want more „sporty” motorbike.
It has inline 4 engine - which is really comfortable to ride in twisties.
I choose what I can afford so I got 50cc scooter 2 years ago when boght it it had 12k km on it but works fine almost have done 10 oil changes already

I only recently found out that you can restrict the mt07 and I’m now hoping to get one when I turn 19 and get my a2, restricted obviously, but damn it’s a nice bike also, have a go at deiving through the road in Saxby I heard it’s too ten in the uk and Stamford is pretty close to Saxby 👍

I’m stuck between this or the cbr500r, I just love the looks of the Honda, but not sure if it has enough torque
Personally never ridden the CBR500R but I would say it depends on your riding goals, if your are commuting and what you want the bike for. For a daily commuter and a lot of fun I would say the 07 just because how Torque they're. But as I say, I've never ridden the CBR500R. If you can, maybe test ride them both and see how you feel!

Maaan I'm soo torn between a MT07 or a kTM 690/701 but I'm leaning towards the MT 07 first of all cheaper to insurance and buy then a 690 or 701, engine seems more reliable they definitely sound better with a aftermarket exhaust on then 690/701 the service intervals are more forgiveing iv read you don't have to check the valve clearances until 24k miles and that's insane if true, every 6k for a oil change 690/701 is very 3 to 6k for a good check over, the MT 07 engine sounds and seems smoother then a 701/690 everything is pushing me towards a MT 07 over a 690 or 701 the only thing that's making me stop and think is the looks of a 690/701 coming from riding dirt bikes from 12 years I have a soft spot for the dirt bike soon and feel BUT someone has told me the MT 07 is on the same fun level and throw about level as a 690 just feel abit more chunky.......ahhhhhhh so hard to choose 🤣🤣🤣
That is a very difficult decision to make lol. If your looking to save yourself some money in the short and long run i would 100% say go for the Mt-07. The bike in general is so much fun, you can really throw the thing into corners and pop the wheel up whenever you want. Plus servicing is easy and i would imagine the insurance and the bike itself would be cheaper. You can even slap some pro taper bars to still kind of get that dirt bike feel. However, if money isn't a problem i would go for the 701 over the 690 imo. I've only ever ridden one but they are so much fun. Proper dirtbike feel but on a road bike! But you're right... that really is a touch choice to make lol.
@@JustBrapz if money wasn't an issus I would buy both 🤣 but unfortunately it does play apart in the decision......my head and bank are both saying MT-07.

i thionk for people in the usa as a first bike full power its to much you can wiskey throttle that bike easy with a power wheelie in first second and even third sometimes i can go full throttle in first just hang forward and hold on with your legs not your hands.i got mine after not riding for 4 years before that 2 years of riding and 1 year learning but my mother is a riding instructor so i could just go ride on sunday aslong as she was behind me and she wanted me to very good before letting me ride
difficult...A2 license and its between this and the Duke 390. I love the character of that p-twin I think I might just pull the trigger. only issues are: 1) insurance. I feel like its gonna be super expensive, was yours? 2) restricting it. I wanna restrict it but idk what the best option is. I heard throttle plate(?) is best
I think my insurance was around the £500-£600 mark for the year. Restricting it is easy you can literally do it yourself, i Done mine 😀

It was my first bigger bike yes. It's a pretty good beginner bike, probably too much power for most though.

@@Qpdocnrn I would personally just go to a dealership and have a sit on the bikes you like and see how they feel. Especially some of the used bikes that have been worn in. MT-03 Could be a great shout but you might get bored quickly. 07 Has the power to use and you won't get bored as quick, I'd say if you've ridden motocross before you should be okay.
I have been ride since i was a kid my first bike was a suzuki 50cc then a dirt bike kawi 50cc and im thinking of getting a 959 Panigale ducati for my first A2. And i want to ask if its a good first A2 bike
I'm not sure you would be able to get that a2 restricted. I would personally recommend getting something you can get comfortable on quickly for your first A2, even if you only keep it for a short period of time!
i would not push the limits in the corners the front is that stable yes i take mine to the track but you have to be smooth
I started with 50cc motorbike and then switched to gs 500 f suzuki and now i ride on gsxr 1000 : P after its so funny because i switched from 500 cc to sport bike 1000 cc after few months

Planning to get one as a second bike after having a 125 for 2 years. Quick question, if I get the A2 restricted, is derestricting the bike easy/cheap and do you get the actual FULL power out of it, as if you’ve bought it in the normal version?

When i bought mine it wasn't A2 restricted. All I had to do was buy the throttle restricter online and fit it myself (i think the kit was around £50) It is really easy to do, its just a case of two bolts where the throttle cable is so it just restricts how much throttle you can have. Then if you want you can take it off and release the full power! 😀 Thanks for the feedback! Really appreciate it!

@@Blasphemario Nah you don't have to get it re registered, just tell your insurance that it's now un restricted

The MT-07 a big bike? I’m 6ft5 so I’m not sure if I’d fit? Been looking at the Bandit 600 & Hornet 600 as well
Not really a big bike. It was comfy enough for me at 6’1 but your legs might get a lil cramped being 6’5
Yeah I would say you would be a little cramped on an MT-07, Its not a very tall bike to be honest.

Generally speaking it makes the bike less powerful but doesn't make it 'Worse' of a bike 😀

You don't have to show any proof, I just rang them and told them it was restricted. Didn't have to show them any proof whatsoever haha

When you say beginner. Do you mean, 0 biking experience beginner who's gone through their direct access A licence tests. Or first big bike beginner. I'm currently on a 125cc moped and looking to do my a2 when I turn 19 and get restricted tracer 700. I can wheelie my xmax so I'm not a noob in any way but never been on a manual. Thoughts on this? Thanks!
I would probably say its the best for your first big bike imo. It gives you a lot of confidence as its so easy to ride. It all depends on your confidence really, it wouldn't surprise me that this would be the choice for someone who is completely new to riding though. Bigger bike are not as scary as they seem 😀
So I’m just about to go for my cbt and just jump straight to A2, I don’t really want to buy a 125 and sell it after a few months so I’m thinking of getting a restricted MT-07. Is that a good idea or should I get a 125 to get used to riding a bike first?
I did the same thing and got the 07 restricted. But if I could do it again, I would personally get a 125 and progress when you're ready.
Looks so slow when compared to my unrestricted GSX650 - It's a nightmare as I kinda want an Interceptor 650 but could never get a bike with less than my 86bhp now.

How much is insurance on one of these for an A2 License

I got them off eBay, I can't remember exactly which ones they are but they cost me like £50.
how hard is it to remove a2 limiter?
Depends on which restrictor you get. From my knowledge you can get a Throttle restrictor which is very easy to install and remove with just two bolts or you can get it ECU restricted which I would guess is a lot harder to remove. Would most likely need to take it to a specialist!

Probably a lot nowadays mate, I've heard the price to insure these are just going up and up. Common hooligan bike, a lot of them end up written off or in an accident haha
