Make video on how to make a 8 by slow speed maneuver
I am a new rider
it helped 👍
That’s an understatement. I have not seen a super basic video like this one before. You’re pointing out every little thing you do. Incredibly helpful.
I know you said you don't read comments anymore, but thank you for all the great videos
I just love the fact that he talks to us in a really clear way, almost like a homie helping you and not a teacher.
Of all the videos out there on gear shifting, this is honestly the best and most easiest to understand. Thank you MotoJitsu.
Yes this was the best video about shifting gears.
Agree been driving since I was 11 and I’m 55! Buying a new bike and before I buy a new bike I always find it better to get as much intel to match what I already know and to make sure I’m adding newer tools to my driving arsenal!
Same feeling here! I just got into the moto school and having fun learning these :)
I’m a new rider and super nervous about gear shifting. I felt a bit rushed in the MSF course so I stayed in 1st gear the whole time 😂 but this made me feel 100xs better. Gonna go get some practice in today! Thanks!!
Shifting and going slow... I'm awful at it lol. Getting better though
Oh man same. I was like barely getting up to speed to get to 2nd in time before having to slow down again for a turn or something. I wish they had more road work in the course tbh.
Honestly staying in first if you're in stopping and going or going slow is okay! When you let off the throttle the engine will slow you a little then you just follow this stuff b
I been practicing no gear at all also no plate or licence I'm a new rider as well think I'm just gonna learn on my own tho and save my money already pretty comfortable riding I'm also starting on a 600c gsxr from 2005 bikes 10 years younger than me.
@@olesmokey394 what does that mean... like you're not trying to take the msf course? Lol
I’m glad you mentioned finding the friction zone by walking the bike and releasing the clutch until you feel it. That’s the way I’ve taught all of my friends how to ride, and it never fails. It also helps people that have no prior experience in manual cars understand that the friction zone is just that.. a zone. It’s not an on off switch.
Thanks for going so slow with this. Massive help for me because I was just jumping it every time and wasn't letting off the throttle. Was also kind of panicking when I had to slow down from a higher gear and go all the way down to 1st to stop. Getting better at not looking at my hands but still a process.
Update: just went out for my 2nd time on real roads and I no longer have any issue shifting because of your video. Thank you so much! Now if I can just fix the stalling issue at the lights...
Me too ! Had trouble finding neutral and popping clutch in first gear
@@DiddleDangleHey man, how's things now? I'm in the same position as your original comment so hoping I'll get better and more confident
the best gear shifting video i have seen. oh god so many out there finally find the one video.
Wow, thanks!
I appreciate how patient you present in this video. My instructors were stressing me out completely
I’m a new rider and I found this so helpful. My MFS course was basically just “pull in the clutch hit the lever” and didn’t go over how slowly the clutch needs to be let out so I kept jerking when switching. This is so helpful!
Out of 1,000’s of video you made explaining this simple concept, easy. Really appreciate this man!
Thanks, MotoJitsu! I have been learning to ride in the parking lot and training for my MSF. I have watched over 10 hours+ videos in repeated, 3 hrs from your TH-cam Channel.
I got to say, yours are the best; Easiest to understand and very detailed oriented.
Appreciate your knowledge and I hope to keep learning from the channel!
Cheers mate! Vroom vroom
thank you so much, man. I am learning how to ride a bike before I make a purchase, and your channel has helped me study the basics. you make it look easy. one tip I got from your other video was "practice, practice, practice. if you practice one thing for at least 10 minutes every day, you will perfect it." thank you.
Having my full bike course at the end of this month. Riding scooter for a year now, you taught me how to corner about 2 months ago. Before my number 8 was more like a 14, my u-turn was a 3-point turn like in a car.
Good luck in your course, man! Have fun!
Thank you SO much for this video. I’ve taken a basic rider course but they don’t really go over shifting and I haven’t really found any other videos that fully breakdown shifting. Big shoutout too stating to slow things down
Your right about the class not teaching how to shift, I took the whole course in 2020 in 1st gear, the bike they let me use was hard to shift felt like the clever needed adjustment, but I just stayed in first..and learned how to shift when I bought my own bike and practiced in parking lots, seasoned now, highway. Stop and go traffic, hills and all. Bought a 2021 Honda Rebel, easiest bikes to ride and learn on, has that easy pull clutch lever and easy shift foot lever. Gas gauge, light weight. Affordable, cheap cruiser.
Thank you so much for this. I haven't ridden a bike in years and finally starting to pick it back up. I have my course coming up towards the end of the month.
Great video! I took my MSF a few days ago. Clutch control and shifting (bad footing) always gave me problems. In ways, I think the students and myself were sort of pushed to learn shifting, throttle, and clutch control quickly. Your video is very helpful, you take your time to explain the friction zone, working the shifter, and on top of that. I'm not worried about downshifting anymore. Thank you so much!
Happy riding!
Your videos give me strength and courage to control the cluth and rode my new GSX-S750 from dealer back home this afternoon. Without any experience on manual bike before, I only rode PCX160 scooter for 7 months. Big THANK YOU master !
How'd it go?!!
That's great. This comment gives me the confidence to try myself. I'm considering doing the same but just renting a Honda XR 150. The rental agency even states they don't care if it gets scratched up! I've been driving PCX/Click etc. and those semi autos for almost two years now.
I'm still learning ! Must say that should've ride sooner, the power, reliability, and responsive rate is perfect. I've spent too long (and too much) on cars with RB25det, 1JZGTE and bunch of DOHC Honda engines. @@MrKijana23
Enjoy the ride man. Make sure to be safe and have fun all the time !@@ChrisinVietnam
@@End7881 I rode it back across Saigon this weekend! Hardest thing was getting it up the steep twisty turn from a stop out of my parking garage! Motojitsu videos saved me haha
Im a 15 year old new rider and just bought my first MC, its a ktm duke 125 2016, and i love it. first time going i was clueless on how to drive and switch gear. I thought it would be easy at first just change gear then just drive and then change and drive faster but i was very wrong. This video helped me very much and i feel much more confident about how to drive now. Thanks dude! Your a legend!
Thank you so much for this tutorial. My MSF class did not teach us how to downshift and we never went past second gear. Your training is invaluable. Thank you again from a 53 year old new Kentucky rider.
This slow and thorough explanation really helped me. All the repetition was great. Thank you!
Thanks for the input. You’re right riding 2up, because when my wife is on the bike , she’s hitting my helmet, so I’m going to practice some more even though I’ve been riding for on and off about two years now. I want to become a better rider, so thank you for all that you do , you have a kind heart to people and are very concerned for other riders, that makes you awesome and great. 😎🏍️👍
I like that you mentioned not to think about the technology. Feel and sound is how I was taught years ago on a dirt bike, your automatic manual transmission kicks in, the ears are the tachometer indicator of the rpm. It all comes naturally after a long time practicing daily.
Keep it on a swivel ✌🏻
Just began writing this video help me a ton from you emphasizing slow down your hands completely made me feel comfortable and within no time I feel like I had the confidence to do anything I wanted
Glad it helped!
Dude omg you explained it so perfect lmao I don’t know why it’s so much more difficult for other riders to explain on their channel
THIS was amazing! Better than any riding class or tutorial. Thank you!!!
This is the best video on how to shift gears. Thank you so much. I pick my bike up on November 4th
As always- you teach us so much, Greg! ❤ Thank you so much- this makes plenty sense, and makes huge difference! 🙏
This is great! I like the slow and repeatedly explaining the most important clutch handling for a beginner like me.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! In the MSF class we were told to downshift through each gear to come to a stop... ive been practicing that and getting SO frustrated because i have not fully figured out rev matching yet and my bike would lurch and bog down as im shifting down. This was sooo helpful i cant wait to practice again now lol
Love this video! Realized I was not getting off the gas enough before pulling in the clutch and my engine speed was high before shifting. Thanks for the analogies as well, can't wait to practice later!!!
100% same. In MSF all they ever do is continuously shout at everyone to put more throttle, more throttle....I genuinely had no clue that I should be off the throttle while shifting
Perfect video man! Perfect sound and detailed instructions!
Glad you liked it!
i've always been a passenger and have been nervous about learning but you answered ALL of my questions.. thank you!!
Wow! Your tutorial was the smoothest I’ve ever seen. I subscribed🎉
The Best motorcycle shifting video I ever saw!
Great stuff! Love your videos. So instructive, informative and professional. Retaking my MSF next spring.
Thank you for this efficient lesson. I feel ready to try this…
You truly a master on bike handling thank you so much I'm riding a zx14 ninja can't explain but your words are gold nuggets
Ive watched like 30+ videos of yours after finding this channel just today. Best content, best explanations
Wow, thanks!
THANK YOU FOR SHARING THE KNOWLEDGE, THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST INSTRUCTIONAL VIDEOS A HAVE SEEN IN TH-cam FOR BEGINNERS.
Hey 😎, I am more & more into your clips, but this one tops it off for me (being an older chap not even owning a driver's sheet as yet 🤭), but you're almost givin' me a beginner's lesson 4 free - and fun it is, I like your no bullshit backseat drivers approach, just showing clearly what it's all about, nice voice (calm and to the point)
Thank you so much ...keep at your good stuff and you know what?
I'll be in for "shutting up and practice" 🤣
And please do turn a blind eye as to my English, I am German for chrissake! Thx
O, and by the way, have fun riding and drive to arrive, may 2023 see you healthy and happy! Torsten
A) Your English isn't bad at for an senior German bloke 👍
B) Your bike isn't bothered by your English language skills 😁
C) What kind of bike are you riding on your famous Autobahn and across the Alps down to Italy, mate?
This video is straight forward and easy to understand thanks for the info!
lot of thanks to all the tips i,m begginer here in phillipines..keep it smooth ang calm
Agree been driving since I was 11 and I’m 55! Buying a new bike and before I buy a new bike I always find it better to get as much intel to match what I already know and to make sure I’m adding newer tools to my driving arsenal!
Love this video, explains everything so clearly 👍
all my questions and doubts has been answered here thank you so much , now i will be more confident using my bike.
Absolutely amazing breakdown on how to shift gears. Thank you!
Thanks for all your riding tips 👍👌
You have cleared all my doubts . thanks Man.
This instruction video was extremely helpful. Thanks so much.
I do MSF next week and 'experts' have been giving me lessons...I broke my pinky dropping my bike first time out. This is so easy to understand and remember I'm a lot more confident. I'll be sharing. Thanks!
❤️❤️
the girl is such a vibe watching you, starting my MSF course next year after september (hopefully) im confident about everything but the gear, thank you for the great advice though.
This video helped me a lot I’ve been trying to speed through everything just because I have years of experience with cars this helps a lot
So helpful!! Thank you!
Now i know the technique shifting smoothly. Tq Sir. Keep learning
What a good ass teaching demonstration can’t wait to go take the course
Very helpful video. I have just done CBT in UK and gear changes up to now have been very jerky as I do them like in a car.
This has been so helpful!!!❤
Excellent, very depth and informative. WOW,,,,, Keep up the good work bro ... 👍👍👍👍
I haven't been on a bike in 10 year's give or take. You want to be fluent with your motions like water. Wax on wax off Daniel son. Moto Jitsu is the go-to for anyone looking for a refresher course or just beginning. Trust yourself and perform the motions with confidence, and you will be on your way in no time.
Best video yet! 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾🙏🏾
LOVE this video! ❤ You're such an amazing teacher. Best explanation, great visuals and run throughs, and a nice soothing voice. 10/10!!! thank you
thanks for the detailed explanation!
My MSF course had tasks that had to be performed in mid speed second gear and a speed control section with clutch only. My bike is clutchless, I rode clutched bikes way back but not in a long time. The CRF150SM they had me doing my course on had the vaguest clutch of anything I ever ridden. I could move it whole centimetres and there was little change in the grab. They passed me but hopefully my next bike has a better clutch and maybe a course bike should have a better clutch setting lol.
This helped me understand and pass my brc, thanks
Thank you for the great video 👍😎That’s what I need😎 Feel confidence for the third time to take my course which is tomorrow!! Every time I went to a stop, I used to be on the 2th gear coz I shifted one by one 😞Thanx Man
Explained very well. U deserve million views. I saw many video on this topic but ur explanation was far more clear and better.
best video for shifting. very nice!
I would definitely take a class with you. Great info
you explain like a really wise teacher, i have to say i learnt it all and damn, it was pretty relaxing too!
very educational...thanks a lot for this video😊😊😊
So helpful thank you bro🙏🏽🙏🏽
Thank you so much for this!!!
I have never driven a bike in my life but am going to go for my license and I was very curious on gear shifting.
Your video is super excellent on that. I get that smooth slow shifting. Now I assume when is experienced and can shift fast the order of roll back the throttle, pull in clutch, kick gear with foot, release clutch, add gas. Even though one may do the same sequence much faster the time between each operation is identical but speed up is how I see it.
Simple asf thanks man your awesome!
This is so the best bike video ever, I've just bought a bike and the gears have made me so nervous, but I watch this video everytime before I go on my bike it really helps
glad it helps
I was doing it wrong the whole time. I was easing out the clutch and slowly adding throttle at the same time. Thanks for the vid!
thanks for your help, first day in the course today and i learned not to pull the throttle while pulling the clutch to shift to 2nd gear.
Going to do my CBT soon and was pretty scared about shifting gears (someone tried to teach my how to drive a car years ago and I struggled with the clutch), but this is the only video on YT I watched that actually seems simple enough for me.
How did it go?
@@bigsmokerc shockingly, I didn't have too big issues. It was a bit scary when I started, but towards the end of it you kinda get used to it.
Great video man super thorough thank you very helpful
Very easy to interpret what you're saying. Clear as!!
Well done 👍🏼, great communication skills on this video. Literally made me feel like I was there in person attending a class. Thank you for the educational video, I appreciate it
Underrated video ever made.
If, the clutch lever is fully out, for it to engage, you should first adjust at the clutch basket (coarse adjustment), then you adjust at the lever (fine adjustment) the lever on the clutch lever is a span adjuster to fit small/large hands.
Older bikes can have a right hand gear, change, and some Kawasaki had neutral at bottom and up for first, etc.
Heyy, this exactly what I needed.. thanks
Very useful, thanks man 🙏
Been watching this for a while now. And I practiced on a manual motorcycle for the 1st time a few hours ago. Man the timing is tricky! Still going to practice later after dinner.
very useful man thanks for the help and for teaching us
The simplest way I'd put it is rev matching makes everything extra smooth. It's good, but also the last thing you want to worry about on your first ride.
Super duper useful video would recommend to all beginners ❤
Great explanation shifting Thank You
Best shifting tutorial video. Thanks
welcome
Great video!
Thank you for the info bro.
That is a perfect and thorough explanation, thank you. I have noticed when I go off the gas the motorcycle starts to jerk a bit, is that an issue with the motorcycle settings?
I’m learning atm and I’m trying so hard to not look at the screen. But my MC teacher says if I do I’m gonna have to tape it up to cover it😂
Love This video it’s simple and clear❤
Thank you, it's really helpful! I have learned on my skin what happen when the gas it's not released during downshifting 😱 luckily i was in an empty parking lot😅 lamps from Italy!
One of the most decent teachings.
Your students will gain much discipline.
Thank you
you're welcome
I learned to ride motorcycle by watching ur videos.. very useful.. tq brother 😍
But still I lack right side corner turn.. makes me scary.. want some tips bro
Cool, I learned a lot from this.
Awesome video. I’m going to be a new rider. Good for me to learn how to ride.
