    What I do find stupid is, after doing both my A2 and full licence, the test is exactly the same. Why do I have to do the same test twice just for more power. You can't use that power in a car park going around cones, it's just the government find more ways to rip off bikers, whilst I only had one test in a car and could hop into any car I could afford to insure

    • @RobBroderick44
      @RobBroderick44 6 ปีที่แล้ว +70

      Sam Grattan Yep the full licence test is retarded, you don't even ride bigger bikes than the A2 ones. They should put more emphasis on the road part...

    • @ridingwithsam
      @ridingwithsam 6 ปีที่แล้ว +43

      RobBroderick44 but even then there's no difference. You can't go any quicker in the test, and the bike I rode had alot less pick up then my restricted MT07

    • @kgsz
      @kgsz 6 ปีที่แล้ว +19

      This is incorrect, RobBroderick, for unrestricted A category you must ride bike more powerful than A2-compliant bike.

    • @RobBroderick44
      @RobBroderick44 6 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Well, you're right, but the reality is not good looking. It depends on the school you're taking your A license. A lot won't bother and will give you the same bike (MT-07 for example) you got for the A2 training/exam. I'm not even sure the bikes are full power when you pass the A test.
      My point is, they should make an effort and lend bigger machines (like an fz-08 for example) so you can experience and harness those because, you will ultimately (for most ppl with A licence anyways) buy one.

      It's being changed this year. if you've done the a2 licence to get an a licence you've got to ride like 7 hours with an instructor to show that your still safe on the roads

    The license rules in England are just shit.
    Got to do a Mod 1 & mod 2 to pass your A2 in which you end up with a full license restricted, yet 2 years later you still have to do mod 1 & mod 2 AGAIN to get any bike you want.
    With car licenses you can just jump straight into any car you want..providing you can afford insurance.
    2 years after passing A2, your license should be auto derestricted

    • @otpwindblade6369
      @otpwindblade6369 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bro, in Bulgaria , you have to take a theory exam and a 2 stage practical exam for A2 licence. After 2 years you have to do the same in order for you to get your A licence. But if you have a B licence already (before starting A2) you can skip the theory exams on all A categories.

    Have to admit, I'm one of the weirdos that actually really enjoyed my training and tests, I love being outside my comfort zone! I did mine a few years ago at age 39 (last time I'd ridden anything was 20 years before!). Passed it & jumped on a 1000cc second-hander the very next day, and my insurance was under £150.
    Being an old git has few perks, but that's one of them.

      jony walabi I'm not sure about modern licensing as when I took my test it was before the law changed, all I remember is I did my CBT and theory, did a 5 day intensive course and took my full bike test, things have gotten more complicated since I passed is my understanding but I never looked into it.

    • @FinalDecap
      @FinalDecap 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's now basically; CBT > Theory ( or theory > CBT ) > mod 1 (off road handling) > mod 2 (road ride).
      That applies for going from no license to any license level and age restricts what license level you can obtain pretty much.

    I am so glad I passed my test over 10 years ago. I'm not saying I couldn't do this, of course I could, but they've made it proper hard and the nerves on the day could easily get the better of you

    Saw you chaps in Bahstormers car park on Sat morning on our way to Loomies. I was going to pull in and say hi but thought that would be a bit weird. Plus, you'd probably tea bag me or something. Great vid as always!

    Great video, I thought this might go down the piss taking route. But cool that you do film this kind of thing for the newbies making your channel appeal to all

    Passed my test 4 days before these new laws came in, was the happiest I've ever been when I was told I'd passed.

    I just had my test this weekend, and although I have plenty of experience, I felt I was still a little nervous and shaky in some of the slow parts. I am very critical of myself, but seeing this makes me feel much better. I was the only one in a class of ten to get a perfect score!!! And I went first on every test throughout the evaluation!

    Man I am so glad there aren't classes of bikes here in the USA. I've been riding for 40 yrs, on the same original written and road test. And now that I've relocated to Maryland, You only have pass inspection once!

    I passed my module 1 on Thursday last week. The longest most nerve racking 15 minutes of my life. I passed though with one minor. Progressing onto module 2 now, with training on Saturday and testing on Wednesday. Fingers crossed. :)

    Good to get the clarification at the end😂 well done Baron. Would have been good to see the faster stuff you missed as this could have easily caught you out too. Perhaps you guys should take the theory too and part 2 on the road test.

    Did my A2 on a early 90s Honda CB400 SF with an acra can on it. The thing had a mad sound on the high RPMs also the test is kind of different in Greece you actually have to come to a full stop after reving it at a bit more than 5k on the second gear. You had to see the face of the two examiners... Priceless

    A really great insight into a test procedure I long-since avoided. God knows how I'd fare these days on my ZX6! Great stuff chaps - & loved the chucklesome Statham stallage. Is it nerves or shite machine control?!

    That manual handling from Fagan had me rocking in my chair. Wheeling it straight across into the next box and facing the wrong way. Classic, fucking classic. totally agree though, being watched can really throw you off if you let nerves get the better of you.

    Ha! Happy days. April 1990, a pursuit test on a far from stock RD125LC, Clip-ons, Micron, Skimmed and bored head, in the pissing rain, on the diesel drenched back streets of Birmingham. I`d never been so scared on a motorcycle before or since.
