      Do you know at which rpm/torque threshold xHP already cuts the ignition when using their stage 3 map (so without using the ignition cut option actively)?

    I know you said you don’t recommend the Vargas GC+, however I am going to be the first test car for VTT factory EWG turbo kit for B58TU with the Vargas GC+. Lets see if it makes a big difference in spool and we will be able to get more data on that turbo. This will be paired with a 3” exhaust with dump to atmosphere for the EWG. Fueling with Dorch HPFP and S58 injectors

    I’ve got a custom Sutphin tune, and I just enabled the ignition shift cuts. I’m going to take it for a drive in a little bit. I can report back and let y’all know if it just changes the ignition cuts, or everything.

    Would you prefer ignition cut or torque reduction on upshift to prevent the clutch from slipping in my Supra? More specifically the 5th to 6th gear is the weakest on this car and that's when it is the most likely to slip.

    hi kern, i’m battling an issue that no one can seem to help me with. when i got my car i started on bm3, i later got a sutphin trans tune and the car always felt great. i recently switched to mhd and i have all torque limiters in mhd turned off, but every time i shift my car gives me the torque limiter 131072. im not sure if this is because it is colder now and i have only experienced mhd in sub 50 degree weather or what. any input would be nice! i’ve talked to mhd, fabian at pureboost, and rod.

    Quick xhp question, I know when you first flash xhp you should take it easy for a day or so to break things in. But when i flash from a stage 1 to 2 or if i mess with the extra settings, do i have wait again to beat on the car or is it just the first time around? Thanks!!

    So is the 221 ft-lb the stock setting for this by default? If you change the RPM, should the amount of torque also be increased/decreased? Just curious how the torque number, specifically, will affect shifts.

    • @kern417
      @kern417  ปีที่แล้ว

      Torque is about how much power the engine is putting out. If you floor it at low rpm, the torque will be higher than cruising at high rpm. So you have to balance both.

    I prefer firmer shifts to increase longevity of the transmission. It has nothing to do with liking or disliking the “feel” bro. A firm shift decreases engagement time which reduces the slipping time during gear changes which therefore reduces wear. Transmissions are designed today to eliminate any customer perception that a gear change has taken place. Many people incorrectly associate firm shifts with a problem. It’s in fact quite the opposite. The torque reduction up shifts feature has no impact when lightly cruising around town. You are feeling the extra line pressure. This is what you want if you have done power mods. A smooth shifting transmission connected to a high horsepower engine is going to burn up synchros and clutches much faster.

    • @kern417
      @kern417  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +9

      Firmer shifts do not extend transmission life the same way power shifting does not extend a manual transmission. Smooth engagement is better for everything including the clutches, gears, driveshaft, diff, and axles. Harsh shifts are a necessity for high horsepower and don't belong where they aren't needed.
