Timing couldnt have been better. Was exploring ditching BM3 for ECUTEK so I can have CANBUS integration for the PI system Im currently setting up. Now going with MHD+ as soon as they release this for 1st gen B58's.
IMO, most people still think Ecutek is the gold standard if you're not on a post-June DME....

It’s very interesting I’m still choosing platform for tune, and waiting xdf files from mhd to see how it’s realized
Im a little bummed that gen1 cars are last on the list, especially because I'm going pi/hybrid this spring. Would be nice to have everything integrated before i get a tune done.
we've had most of this for over a year so that's why they're starting with other platforms that don't even have flex fuel yet
I guess the ECU is going on another vacation when post June is released.

Why is FEMTO the only company in the world who can unlock den post-June DMEs? What a cash cow for them.
There is another Company in germany that is doing dme unlocks. But they require the car to be at there shop to do them

If you had to hire cryptologists at what is likely an insane $/hr rate, this is one reason why. This is not like attempting to beat COD campaign on hard, i'm sure this is very difficult and maybe only happens with a potential Bosche information or informant leak. There are also many legal ramifications for willfully breaking security protocols in most industrialized countries. It's frustrating but that's the situation.

Might be the case. I‘m just wondering why no one else can do so. In the past, it always just took a little while until lots of companies/tuners did have access to the DME. Seems like the last protection of Bosch/BMW is the most complex one.

Towards the end you mentioned that EcuTek already has this… So is this then for someone who has MHD and previously didn’t want to switch/pay for EcuTek or are you saying MHD is better than EcuTek in some way?
Time to jump ship from bootmod3 to mhd+. Unless PTF can get there canbus board out to market. Or are willing to integrate reflex.

I'm told there is some bad blood between the two companies. but its really only harming the community if so.

Slightly off topic but do you know why it is that both mhd and bm3 cannot replicate the mppsk burbles regardless of the settings, mppsk seem much more dynamic and not just a simple burble tune setting, is it possible to stage 1 a mppsk car whilst retaining the oem mppsk burbles?
So is MHD just as capable as ecutek now?

@@kern417 My point being aren't most pre-june DME folks already unlocked and tuned on any number of platforms already? I'm questioning their prioritization here, that's all.
@@1FastMKVSupra wouldn't it make sense to release updates for their biggest customer base where it's easiest to implement? Unless you just want to wait longer. This is pretty much how it always works.
@@kern417 Maybe but i don't see this being huge for pre-june folks, most have already made tuning/platform decisions by now. I would have been tuned years ago if I could have gone bench unlock. Maybe i'm missing something here.
@@1FastMKVSupra they release updates all the time. Not sure how it wouldn't make sense. It's free for existing users. People have been asking for flex fuel all year so I don't understand how this is anything other than a good thing.
So if i have a flex fuel kit, i don’t need a to have multiple maps? I could just run a blend and the sensor will adjust for me?

gen 2 doesn’t have factory port injection only gen 3 b58 has factory port injection

You can sell your BM3 license to switch to MHD. I did it when I had my 340i and MHD just seemed to work better.
