    I've been drag racing full size cars since the 90's, so naturally I was happy when rc drag racing started getting popular. I was ready to start building a car but first I thought I'd do some homework and check out some races and some rc community pages. What I found was the most overinflated egos I've ever encountered, and that's really saying something. I couldn't believe how those guys act, they act like it's real street racing with real consequences. They act like they're on an episode of "Street Outlaws Memphis" (the worse depiction of street or drag racing ever filmed). It completely turned me off to the whole thing. The cars are great, what guys like me always wanted to see, but the rc drag "community"has a ton to learn about what community really means.

      People take their hobbies way to seriously, it's as if they forgot how fun It is. It's good to be competitive, but when their fantasy life problems overtakes real life, they need to take a step back and re assert.. I suggest finding a different group, or start your own with the emphasis on a good time, not out mouthing or over spending. I guaranty that group last longer than the "Pros" does. I've seen it, done it, and have been on both side of it, so I fully understand the issues.

      @@mikehagen3785 I've been a car guy my whole life, fairly serious racer for almost 30yrs. Some of us may not be exactly the warmest people to outsiders, but be it street or track I've never seen that kind of behavior at a race. They're exactly the same online. I've taken my kids to the track, street races when they got older and never had an issue, they were welcomed. I'd never take a kid to an rc drag race.

      Exactly. I been waiting for over two months for a spur gear that stripped. Got my Losi 22s 69 Camaro on June 21st.the gear stripped about a week later. I ordered two from Horizon Hobby, but they are on back order until 08/30. I spoke to a tech at Horizon who told me, when they do finally come in. The first ones will go out to their distributors, then to hobby shops, and lastly to mail order/ on line orders. So it will be at least mid September before I even will be considered for receiving my spur gears. I did find one on eBay for$14.00 with $12.00 shipping. But it will be coming from the U.K. but it will arrive between 08/20 and 08/30. Still quicker than Horizon, but I paid$26.00 for a $4.00 part.😳 I think when it’s fixed I will sell it and buy a new Drag Slash, my local Hobby Town has Traxxas parts out the wazoo. The Losi is pretty cool, and fairly fast. But having a brand new $600.00 plus car ( including batteries and charger ) just sitting idle for almost three months, because of a four dollar part is a bit ridiculous.

    In your review of the DR10 you said it was geared for 3S, could tell what's the most popular pinion gear to put in it so it will go faster than 20+ mph. I made a mistake, I was going to buy a drag Slash but I heard you couldn't get a better deal than the DR10. Drag slash is pricey but you will buy that or more to get the DR competitive. I buying the Slash because I like it and seems more competitive of of the box. I'm going to download the rules and classes . I remember, shock fluid 40f60r, tires, steering rod, wheel bar, 500k diff fluid, one more question your opinion on spool or open diff. Real race cars run spools and what I see that's what they are just scaled down, when you have racers using 4 wheel scales, multi stage esc's, Trans brakes and parachutes, yes scaled down using the same full size tricks. I want sometime cheap but competitive but your also have these OCD racers with deep pockets
    with the best of everything .

      On 2S use, 81/24T should be a good place to start and then you can fine tune from there. For the spool, it's a personal preference honestly. From what I hear, their use depends on the car, traction levels and the quality of the surface. But some people like them and some don't.

    My friend, every rc car drag race I have ever seen is squirrelly and eratic, with both cars usually swapping lanes and each going way out of bounds. Really just a joke. Agree or disagree??

    • @PIZZA_and_NITRO
      @PIZZA_and_NITRO 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutely agree. Why they don't use the steering assist is beyond common sense. It's there to help, & included in The rtr's but some joker decided to make a rule saying "no steering assist allowed" and all the sheep follow naturally. They really like their demolition derby drag races I suppose. They run all kinds of tech in the esc that accelerates for them, but are stern against using tech that keeps the cars from racing at 80 mph into some poor kids leg in the pits. Not the smartest rule that's for sure.
