I forgot to add this to my takeaways for walking. I think you need to walk every day. I have tried walking plans in the past where I was walking 3 to 5 days a week, and I never learned to enjoy it LOL. I think the daily walk is what made a big shift.

, brain fog diminished. I now try to do 24-36hr fast once a week. I also don’t have caffeine for 90min after wake - this has stop my afternoon slump. Learnt that from Andrew Huberman, Huberman Lab .

This was the video that I needed to see this morning.. I've been feeling much the same way as you and realized I need to get back on track with more a healthy routine...stop eating the foods that I know make me feel crappy and bloated, drink more water, get back on ACV/lemon routine in the morning to help my liver detox, move more during the day and get good rest. My naturopath always says - when you say 'diet' if feels restrictive and it's harder to stick to but changing your mindset to thinking of it as a change in 'routine' makes it easier and better for long term health. Thanks for the inspiration and kick in the pants that I needed today... time to get off the couch and take the dog for a walk!

I love all your videos Lisa. I was experiencing severe menopause symptoms, brain fog, felt this weird feeling in my head, kept forgetting things, depression, insomnia, anxiety, panic attacks and many other symptoms. I decided to start working out even though I wasn't motivated and I really didn't need to lose weight because of the severe depression I was actually losing weight, but strength training is the best thing I could've start doing along with drinking lots of water and eating a Plant-based diet. I think the best way to start is just starting in small steps, not put too much pressure on ourselves to try to do it all. I think that taking time each day for ourselves is very necessary for long-term results and just feeling better and happier.

This has been perhaps the best 'real life' experience video from a non professional health expert that I have ever watched I am in my 70's and still trying to crack the 'code' that is my body. I have been following doctor Berg on Keto ever since my mild heart attack four years ago.I had stents put in ,and felt that that had such a negative effect on my overall health ( foreign body in your body idea) that I lost all confidence.,believing I simple couldn't improve my situation. . Keto has improved my health. I also lost all sugar cravings, was never a great snacker. except for the chocolate I needed every day.. until Menopause hit. Then it simple went away..I do however continue to gain weight.? Now I KNOW what to do .... but it's like juggling .I can't seem to keep ALL the balls in the air at once..Covid destroyed my routine Stents destroyed my confidence .. But now I am inspired to get back in the saddle and try again..Thank you

Glad to know how much all of this has helped you. I began a year ago to go off of all the above, I started by cutting out all sodas and sugar. In July I was able to go straight keto and I am loving it. I had so many health problems I was getting desperate to stay alive and enjoy my new great grands. (I'm 71) Now I can play with them, take them places, etc. I care more about myself in more ways such as makeup, skin care, and more. My doctors are very happy with my results (lost over 70 pounds) reducing or eliminating many of my drugs. This is a very happy lifestyle change for me and my family.

Super super good presentation! I am doing the intermittent fasting as a lifestyle and have lost ten pounds. I imagine I'll drop more because of how I eat - snacking is almost nonexistent and like you - I don't miss it. I do have dessert a couple times a week, but the portions 'look' small in ramekin bowl. It's just enough and I am very satisfied. I still get brain fog sometimes - so I may take some extra steps to fix that if possible. When I am actually hungry, I sit down and enjoy the taste and texture of my food so much more! Wrapping it up - You are pretty awesome! Thanks for sharing.

    • @LisaMonique

I ordered dessert for the first time since May last night and could only eat a few bites! Even though I’ve added cheese back to my diet, I still avoid sugar except for occasional jam on my toast and I have not had anything after 8 PM since May. I sometimes break fast early though if I’m really hungry LOL. It’s all about balance! I can even remember an entire phone number now, it’s been a long time since I could do that!

This is almost exactly what I have done over the past 2 years- 5 years ago I realised I had Candida overgrowth- taking care of this through diet and killing off the unwanted bacteria in my gut, it completely cleared up brain fog, eczema, stiff finger joints, headaches- I don't have any symptoms at all- if I eat dairy even a small amount eczema appears within 2 hours. So I am able to manage things now but you have to do your research, right. I enjoy doing it and love the gut health subject but I don't live and breathe it- enjoy life. It looks like you have a great attitude- thanks for sharing. Ayurvedic health suggest warm water and sitting when drinking but you have to do what works for you. Finding out what ayurvedic body type you are helps then you can eat, have a lifestyle, sleep the way your body type resonates with. Thanks again Lisa.

@@LisaMonique A rebounder is basically just a mini trampoline. Rebounding is so good for you! So many benefits! Can also help bring back your knees, too, if you suffer any type of knee issues. Important not to get just any rebounder, though. Cheap ones don’t usually provide the right tension and can end up doing more harm than good. Definitely research before buying. So many good vids on TH-cam for rebounding!

Hi from new subscriber from New Zealand. I resonated with you on all you said. I too have cut sugar, dairy and gluten. Cut bread and flour products of all kinds. Also I cut the starchy vegetables. I also do a fast with an eating window between around noon or 1pm to 4 or 5pm, sometimes a 6-8 hour eating window when out and about with family and friends. Dr Berg's video's taught me about the connection between sugar, starch, gluten and insulin resistance which can be trigger to fibromyalgia and inflammation. I feel I have less pain but I seem to break at least once a week as well through cravings. Usually bread or cheesy something. Seem to do the worst when I haven't got much choices left around me. Thanks for video could you please make a video on exactly what your eating. I find I am eating similar foods over and over and need to try something different. Thanks again.

I am seriously considering going on Keto. I am hearing good things about it. It won’t be easy, but just about anything worth doing isn’t. I already do some intermittent fasting.

I could so relate. I went on a 6 month sugar fast (all sweeteners) because I had so much inflammation going on. I was a sweet binger too. The fast broke the cycle. Now, I eat more whole fruit sweets. I use a little maple syrup or honey though I prefer sweetening my desserts with dates. Going whole food plant-based got rid of all the inflammation--no more joint pain, eyesight improved (doctor has reduced my prescription twice so far), no more eye floaters, dental hygiene got better too. And of course, I've dropped the weight that I wanted to get rid of.

I'm not sure it would be accurate as I"d try and make it as well rounded for a video...but in actuality, sometimes its pretty low in veggies and I'd get all kinds of comments on how nutritionally deficient it is 😂😂😂! But it's definitely still no sugar!!

I went on a weight-loss plan last year? I cut sugar and white bread (subbed sprot bread) for 7 weeks: I felt energetic and no brain fog- in fact, I started remembering French and German again! ; my belly went totally flat and I never knew I had bloating but when I went back on sugar my face blew rt back up and my "baby belly came rt back, even though I haven't gained weight, and the fog is back and mood swings are stronger than when I was off sugar. I also was pounding back the water, too. Downing a half a glass is not a problem as you wondered;)

Dr Berg is my healthy keto and I.F. guru!! After 2.5 months (strict), 15 lb wt loss AND feeling sharp & so much healthier! Ketosis is achieved by eliminating sugar/carbs, but I do fast for 16 hours a day (Doc Berg recommends 18 hrs) and I'm not hungry. Fasting is great for cellular renewal. When I went camping I went off I.F. I'm am same age group as you, wanted to get back to my lifestyle of health and nutrition and of course weight loss ( I've been slacking the past several years.) Loved this video & your insights about sugar and processed foods. Have a blessed day! ❤

I love love love Dr. Berg! -- been into his advice for years now. I already do gluten-free and have severely limited sugar, high fructose corn syrup, all processed foods, etc. I love my morning latte -- so limiting milk and dairy have not been on my hit-list, but I might consider it. Blessings and thanks for all your videos!

Hi Lisa! My name is Carol Wilcox, I follow Dr. Berg, Ken Berry and Dr. Fung on TH-cam.
I was doing intermittent fasting with Keto OMAD. I started this in January, 2021 and have lost 47 lbs. I have never felt better in my life. My health has improved. I no longer eat sugar, processed food, seed oils, grains, and very low carb. I lost most of the weight in the first 4 months. I am now maintaining my weight. Keto focus has a lot of great recipes for this way of eating. Thank you for sharing your story!
