  • Shutting down your computer by default does not completely shut it down but instead it runs it through hibernation. This is if fast startup is enabled in your computer.
This results in your CPU uptime to build up over time. Now should your reset your CPU uptime? This video explains just what to do.

You can also hold down shift while clicking "turn off your pc" and it will bypass the fast startup setting. Just do this once every few days and you'll be good.

Hey! Yeah it is safe. But it is not necessary since an SSD is usually fast

I never knew this was a thing! My laptop said it was up for over 100 days and I was like "HOW?!" It would take almost 10 mins for Chrome to open. I didn't know what was going on and I didn't know why it was so slow. I thought maybe I had a virus somehow but then learned of this fast start up. I found it, disabled it, and restarted my PC and booted back up smoothly and quickly. The irony, it says "fast startup (recommended)" when it actually slows it down! Thank you for this vid, I think you just saved my sanity and patience!

Hahaha..The computer just assumes you would need fast startup to get back in action quickly but in turn it isn't that useful for computers with inadequate resources. Thanks for liking the video XD!
