A helpful tip, use something to lubricant the wires that rubber boot when fishing thru it, it will be so much easier, dishsoap and water mix worked good, or maybe even a little WD40
All in all, great tutorial, however, like many other videos, once you get to the actual wiring of the back up camera itself, it all of sudden becomes extremely vague. I'll just wing it & hope it works.
I've hooked my backup camera to the backup light wires, but I'm only getting about 10v out of it. Would that harness you connected to be more likely to provide 12v?
I just bought a Toyota RAV4 limited car, it has a genuine GPS screen but it doesn’t have rear camera. So if I want to add the camera do I need to buy a new screen?

Thanks for this video Provo Beast. Question: In our 2012 Rav4, the backup camera worked for years, but now, we get only intermittent camera. Sometimes we get blue screen, then nothing. Can you please suggest a cause and solution for this problem? Thanks again!
@@ProvoBeastAudio Thanks for replying. So even with intermittent signal, you don’t think it’s a wiring issue? Is this a common failure with this model?
@Bobby My camera is adjustable as it has a screw. So i park my car and measurements out 1.5ft from the bottom of my car on the ground and move the set screw to make the last red line to 1.5 feet and tighten the screw. The driver side is accurate but the passenger side is off only a few inches.
Those t- taps are Lifesavers. They’re easy enough you can put them on both wires and just change them out real quick to find out which wire you need. But if you misaligned that blade, that’s a real thing. I’ve used them and I still had it happen to me. So be careful with that. But I love them. Thanks for the tip.

I have followed the same instruction, but still not able to align the guidlines at the center since the camera is fixed at the left

I noticed that the placement of the backup camera makes the backup lines a bit off.

On the red wire extension that you’ve added to the reverse light, what kind of wire did u use ?
18 gauge wire will do just fine, and available online or at most auto parts stores.
Can you use the negative wire from the reverse light instead of a ground? Is a negative wire the same as a ground wire?

The reverse trigger wire isn't functioning properly. Either a bad connection somewhere or a setting on the radio.
