This was very helpful...thanks! pay attention to which pioneer unit you order. I got the AVH-200EX, which you link, and it's a very basic unit without Apple Car Play, which is a deal breaker for me since we have iphones. The amazon Q&A said it had apple carplay, so i ordered it and installed it, but it didn't. The workaround for that unit to do navigation, etc is called "Weblink", but it was not helpful. I upgraded to a AVH-1400NEX and fortunately the wiring/harnesses are the same as the 200EX, so it was a simple switch out for me. I also ordered the USB/Aux car lighter replacement and didn't need it with the 200EX (has a front facing USB), but glad i kept it because the 1400NEX only has the back-of-unit USB, so i installed that lighter replacement cable and it looks beautiful and was easy! I did this on a 2011 RAV. The bracket was easy to install and looks great.

@ProvoBeastAudio First of all great video! I ordered the parts you have and successfully got the radio to work for a while now. However, I could never get the steering wheel controls to work. I think my issue involves the part the auxiliary part you cut off at 4:10 video. I have the wiring you talk about at that part in the video, but II don't know where to plug in the part that you cut off since you didn't have steering wheel controls. You mention a separate adapter. Do you happen to have further info on that? Is it an aswc-1 that I need? Any ideas would be great. I know my wife would love the addition of the steering controls.

However, the dsteering wheel controls are not working. I have the SWRTY-61J plugged in and I can see there is a blue light near the plug and it sometimes blinks a red so seems to be getting power. I set the DIP switches to pioneer, and have the 3.5 mm plug into the wired remote input on the back of the pioneer. Any thoughts on something I might be missing. One thing I did wonder about on the dip switches is the left has the after radio selector. On the right it shows gain adjustment. I just set that to the same as the aftermarket radio.

Yes, but genre3ally no harness is available for that and would require a bit of manual wiring to make that work.

Way to install the USB port IN FRONT of a cup holder. Good job thinking about customer convenience bro. How many other vehicles have you done this in?? Yes, it was a bad design by Toyota. Same thing with the cigarette plug. You don't notice it until have a big water bottle, and have to charge your phone. You can't have both! Think outside the box bro!
