I think ‘Alex’ had synthetic hair. If that’s the case it won’t dye like you want. Unfortunately, you need “real hair” doll to do actual dying. I adore all of your videos! Thanks for doing these!!!

I loved watching this entire video. It was so fun to watch! I've been cutting my own bangs and dying my tips with manic panic since the pandemic started (currently, I am Deku green). I think the dye is pretty easy to use and super vibrant. The only thing I wish is that they came with a brush. To keep the hair separated, you could have ponytailed each section to keep them seperate (that's what I usually do). I think you would look amazing with brightly colored hair! I'd say you probably just have to bleach your hair first.
Jackie what about trying a Brad Mondo tutorial? And don't worry for your thin hair, you can use products to give it volumen and even stiling techniques without products. I started cutting my own hair years ago because too many "professionals" argued with me about layers and not wanting to use product. I got a comb with a razor in it that is very forgiving and I just trim off little bits at a time. Works super well. I also gave a couple people haircuts during lockdown, and that also went well.
I stopped going to a hairdresser when the hairdresser said she couldn't "pick and choose strands of hair" to only dye the section I wanted. Funny how we managed to do exactly that at home 👀
We called this cut a Lioness back in ‘76 vocational high school cosmetology. I became an accountant instead, paid better, could sit not stand all day, plus I didn’t have to deal with soooooo many people. Worked out well.
As an cosmetologist myself… I can really say Jackie… I applaud you and you are so entertaining and adorable. I so wanted to go in and fix that cut but at the same time didn’t because it’s yours😩😂 but I love how you unapologetically try things, I think it’s great. I cut my own hair once and I thought it looked cute...then I went to work the next day, my boss asked "Did you get a haircut?" I said "Yup! I did it myself," all proudly. He smiled and says "You can tell." Thanks, boss.
I’ve been shaving my own head for about two years now and it’s so much better than trying to cut and style it. You are amazing for dipping your toes into so many crafts and trades. Keep it up, you are inspiring grains to try new things!
Go to a beauty supply store in your area. Here we have Sally's beauty supply. Get proper clips, get the stiff brush, dye bowl, and advice from the employees at the store. Get gloves to keep your hands from staining. The manniquin hair does take dye but you have to prep it first. Strip the manufacturing oils and other stuff off the hair.
Looks like the mannequin head has synthetic hair, so no, it won't take dye. They come in different types- the human hair types can be dyed, but the synthetic ones can't.
I love seeing you trying out things for the first time, it's so entertaining. Please keep doing these kinds of videos🥺 I love all of your content though💕
I've been cutting and dying my hair since I was a teenager. It's INCREDIBLY liberating to do it yourself. Yes, it's scary at first, but you will feel so amazing after you take control of your hair.
The fact that ginene and alex had a straight face throughout that pain and torturer is incredible we all need to be like them in a time of crises and chaos
As someone who went to beauty school, as always I found this highly entertaining. Pro tip, when you are trying to keep the hair separate, think pointy tail, or Minnie buns. Also be careful of getting hair dye on your manikin face, it’s really hard to get off later. Thank you for your hard work and I truly enjoy your channel.
Jackie, for someone who can’t do hair, you can do hair. I have my hair undercut (side shaved) and I’d let you loose with the clippers. Alex has synthetic hair, so the colour won’t take. Wasn’t anything you did. Love Janine’s wolf cut 🥰👍🏻
I've been cutting, coloring, and styling my own hair since I was 17. In those 14 years I've gone to a hair salon maybe three times. And out of all the years I've only messed up my hair twice due to messing up with a bleach job.
I love Manic Panic! That’s what I used in this profile picture! I used their bleach kit because my hair is naturally dark brown, and I’ve been dying it various colors every time it fades for the last year. I’d only had my hair dyed professionally prior so I’d say it’s pretty beginner friendly
Oh Jackie I love you so much lol I love seeing these types of videos. I think we have all wanted to do some of these things and can easily relate to your reactions and hardships!
I’m 12 and I’ve been cutting my dad’s hair since quarantine started. He said he is never going to a salon again. He really likes me doing his hair and it turned out really well the first time I did it! Love you so much, you and Mariah are my favorite channels!!😘😘😘
Lol I also became my dad's new hair stylist during the pandemic. Obviously he couldn't go while they were closed and he absolutely needed a haircut and I told him that you need a haircut, do you want me to do it? The next time I went to go visit them he asked me to cut his hair and then months later he had a wedding to go to and again asked me to cut his hair. He asked me to do it the third time and informed me that he is original hairstylist apparently isn't at that store anymore so I guess that means I'm his new hairstylist and will be routinely cutting his hair when I go to visit them.
I use the first technique to cut my hair (beause haircuts are expensive), I iron it and cut it dry, the only thing is that I cut it much longer, like my lips, so I have longer bangs. cutting it dry makes things easier for me :p Also, what do you think about repainting one of the manequin heads and making it a creature?
As a licensed hairdresser I can indeed confirm this is how all of us have treated our mannequin heads in and out of hair school. I have 3 Michelle, Juan, and Brittnay
If your hair is like mine, where you got a lot of it, but the single hairs are very fine/thin, shaving one side could actually help. I've been getting side or undercuts for the last few years and it makes my hair look more volumeous.
I’ve been cutting my own hair like that “wolf cut” for years now, learned it on youtube before it was even a thing. ppl used to tell me i was crazy for doing my own hair, now cause its popular on tiktok, its “cool”. funny how that works. Anyway, i love manic panic, I usually keep it on for a few hours, depending on how intense i want the color to be. Great job girl.
I can't wait to see a hairstylist reacts video 🤣 so many giggles ... I swear Jackie is the most fun and wholesome grain of salt ... this made my day! ❤
Jackie! I have used Manic Panic on my own hair LOTS of times, its a very good dye. I had their Neon Green "Electric Lizard" in my hair for two years and loved it. Their neon dyes glow under black light. Definitely a great brand.
I will say Manic Panic is for real or natural hair and does not work on synthetic. Most styling heads have synthetic hair so that's why the dye didn't work on your styling heads.
First of all I love the pickle the dinosaur you have chilling on your shelf in the background second , I just discovered your channel and you have instantly became my favorite youtuber ever! Your content is amazing and the way you present your video ideas is spot on! You are an awesome positive person! Honestly keep up the good work! ♡
Hey you! Yes you, reading this right now! Just know that you are smart, georgeous, and PERFECT! I know it may be tough right now, but I promise it will get easier. You are a amazing person, please talk to someone who trust and feel comfortable confiding in. You matter. You are loved. I love you! I'm so proud of you! Keep fighting,
When I was a kid, my parents tried to get me to wear a mini mullet in the back and I hated it. As soon as I learned of the power of scissors I cut that little rat tail off and would never allow myself that kinda torture again.
I think it's great that you do these so people realize how hard this actually is. Tic Tok can be pretty vague. You may be saving many from attempting this on their own hair or others. Good for you Jackie!
I am new to your content, and I have to tell you that I love your whole vice. You bring a smile each time I watch. Thank you for that, the world needs more laughter.
for the manic panic- its a really good hairdye brand in my opinion. my sister has medium light brown hair, and we dyed it red and it was a deep red and really pretty. we didnt bleach it or anything!
Hey Jackie! I started cutting my own hair at the start of the you-know-what, my mum helps me now! I have it very short with shaved sides. The salon I was going to is no longer accessible to me as a wheelchair user, but it’s so much easier to do it at home! Gonna watch the rest of your vid now, love your content 👍🏻💜😊
I bought myself one of those heads to play with and I noticed that attaching it to the table really does the trick. Because of how long the hair is and how light the head is, every time I tried to do something with the hair, the head would topple over. I really recommend securing heads like these to something sturdy like a table or a countertop.
Not even ten minutes in, and I'm getting flashbacks to cosmetology class in high school. ( I didn't take the state board, which all cosmetology students need to take and pass to get your licence, in the U.S. at least.) Not in a bad way, your making me think about for the first time in 15 years. P.S. I love your videos Jackie.
For some reason when I first read your comment I thought you wrote you didn't take the skate board 😂😂😂 I was like "what???" until I read it a second time. I'm such a dork.
I've used it on my dark hair. It shows up a deeper color of the color in the jar. (If you have gray/silver in your hair, it looks so cool with the dark hues and the pastel hues.)
I have 5 feet of hair and I scare hair dressers away so learning how to deal with your own hair can be a pain. But watching this had me cracking up laughing!
I legit just used that exact pink manic panic last night for my peekaboo (just the under part of my hair).. I love how pigmented it is, and with the right care, how long it can last!!
I LOVE Manic Panic. I've used it multiple times for different looks. Even a whole hidden rainbow on the underneath hair. I'm so tempted to do a longer version of the wolf cut...
You are so hilarious!!!! Me and my little girls love to watch you together. They are 3 and 7. They love to do the "saltiness intensifies" face lmao it kills me :) thank you for always being you
I've been cutting and dying my own hair since I was 16. The first couple hair cuts didn't look the best, I once melted my hair with bleach, but I think I've got it down now. Right now I have half of my head buzzed, the other half is long and bright green :) I'd add a photo if I could. It may not be for everyone but I like it
I've cut my own hair for about the past 6 years now! I used to have really long hair that I could sit on and it looked lovely but I hated taking care of it so I chopped it all off for charity. After there every couple of years I do it again, just throw it up in a hairtie and chop it off, then feather out the ends over the next few days as I notice what's wonky. 😆
I love the dichotomy of Jackie. On one hand, we have the Jackie who puts together a well thought out, comprehensive craft kit with detailed instructions that she encourages people to read thoroughly before beginning and ranks other craft kits based on those same criteria. Then we have the Jackie who buys a bunch of random cheap stuff from Amazon and attempts to teach herself skills that require extensive training and practice without doing any prior research. Does it make sense? No. Do we care? Apparently not.😂😂😂
I really enjoyed this video. I went to a cosmetology school to cut hair and other things in same department (manicures, pedicures, hair coloring, etc...), you did start off with the right scissors but kinda cringed when you broke out with the shears, however I did see you struggling so I let it go. The Hairstyles still did turn out good. Hairstyling is an art and crafts all of its own. You can use semi-permenent hair coloring, it just takes longer to adhere, try either over night or 24 hours next time. Every else, you had done correctly. I believe in you and just keep trying. You were very brave to do this for us. 😊
This video coming out today is so well timed! I literally just cut my own hair and coloured it with Manic Panic this morning 😂. I love this dye as it's so vibrant (as long as you have blonde hair, or bleach it) I've used the black this time, and it took really well to my severely bleached hair.
Loving these videos! I have half of my head shaved, and in quarantine I got a trimmer and started shaving it myself. Unfortunately a couple months ago I trimmed too far over. I went to the stylist last month, and she cut it where it's supposed to be; so now I have a strip of short apikey hair growing between the shaved and longer section of hair. Sigh. It will grow out eventually. However, it worked great for my sfx burned look for Halloween 🎃 😉😁
Jackie: "I'll be doing a haircut for the first time." Me: "But what about the haircut you did for Sika?!?!" Edit: Nevermind, you mentioned that like a minute later xD
I just want to say I love watching your videos!! You are fun and Always make me laugh and laugh. With the condition of the world today we definitely need you and your humor in it. Thank You for giving me a little comedic intermission in my day. Non contact hug 💚💜💙
i just wanna say im just scrolling through all your videos all over again because i just love you soooooo much... you are literally amazing and i wish you lived closer so that we could best friends
Yes, I cut my own hair and no it wasn't OK! HS Graduation day I decided I needed bangs with my cap. I have naturally curly hair so of course I cut it too short. Tiny little line of curls are just peeking out from under my cap going every which way! This is now immortalized not only in my family's pictures but also with any other family member at my school who took pictures!
I’d love to see Jackie try some of those cool harajuku hair designs when she gets the right dye and the confidence to try. I think she could do something pretty dang cool with some of the paint jobs she’s done on sculptures and fabric. I know hair dye ain’t the same but, it’d make a good video nonetheless
@NerdECrafter I just found your channel and subscribed after 2 minutes. I must say...im struggling in life and you had me laughing for the first time in a long time. I thank you for that!
i attended a men's haircutting course last year and love it a lot and I'm still in uni, any advice in terms of career in barbering in the comments? also, this channel never fail to do a great job in trying new things, the fact that she always could almost nail the techniques.
I LOVE manic panic, ive been using it for 17 years, i put a clump in a bowl then add water. DONT BE SCARED AND EXPERIMENT WITH YOUR HAIR! Colorista has semi dyes for dark hair so no bleaching needed, just bcuz your hair is flat doesnt at all mean that a side shave would look bad! Its hair, it grows back, thats why its so much fun to play with! No joke, totally switching your hair up every once and again really changes your whole world, it does for me! I dye my hair every 6 months or so, what depression? What internal loneliness? Beyotch my hair is pink i feel goooodd!!!!! DOOOO ITTT JACCKKKIIEEEEE!!!!! ♡♡♡

Looks like the mannequin head has synthetic hair, so no, it won't take dye. They come in different types- the human hair types can be dyed, but the synthetic ones can't.
It depends on the hair material. If it's sythetic hair it won't take any hair color, only polyester dyes
@@LaynieFingers My mannequin at Cosmetology school took dye and it was synthetic. It just takes a little bit longer.
@@deleted5609 What type of dye?
I love seeing you trying out things for the first time, it's so entertaining. Please keep doing these kinds of videos🥺 I love all of your content though💕
I actually use manic panic I’m so proud of you Jackie
I've been cutting and dying my hair since I was a teenager. It's INCREDIBLY liberating to do it yourself. Yes, it's scary at first, but you will feel so amazing after you take control of your hair.
The fact that ginene and alex had a straight face throughout that pain and torturer is incredible we all need to be like them in a time of crises and chaos
Idk why this doesn’t have more likes
Lol
As someone who went to beauty school, as always I found this highly entertaining. Pro tip, when you are trying to keep the hair separate, think pointy tail, or Minnie buns. Also be careful of getting hair dye on your manikin face, it’s really hard to get off later. Thank you for your hard work and I truly enjoy your channel.
i love artic fox hair color myself. rocking the phantom green from them right now
Genuine and authentic content makes these videos so relatable.
Keep this up and you'll be able to build a whole art crash test dummy. Seriously though, this is awesome.
Got me dyin at the part of: "I like how my instinct was to hold her upside down"
but if you do this with your own hair, you do turn your head upside down - or is that just me?
As a licensed hairdresser I can indeed confirm this is how all of us have treated our mannequin heads in and out of hair school. I have 3 Michelle, Juan, and Brittnay
If your hair is like mine, where you got a lot of it, but the single hairs are very fine/thin, shaving one side could actually help. I've been getting side or undercuts for the last few years and it makes my hair look more volumeous.
Dude I swear to irene herself that recon will sponsor the best, funniest and most potentially controversial people on the internet and I love it!!!
I love that you branch out and try all different types of art!!!
Keep fighting,
awwwwwww!
Thank u 💓💗💖💛
I needed this. Thank you ♡
When I was a kid, my parents tried to get me to wear a mini mullet in the back and I hated it.
It made me want to try it more!
JACKIE! I love your willingness to explore new crafts and broaden your horizons. It really empowers a lot of us to do the same! Thank you ❤.
I'm really enjoying this series.
I'd love to see you make a full video in animated style for the first time.
I bought myself one of those heads to play with and I noticed that attaching it to the table really does the trick. Because of how long the hair is and how light the head is, every time I tried to do something with the hair, the head would topple over. I really recommend securing heads like these to something sturdy like a table or a countertop.
This is why she is my favorite TH-camr, she really cared about her fans mostly "wasteing her money so we don't"
Jackie- “Tell me about your day, Janine”
Me- what the salt! That’s my name!
Like your new hair?
@@carolynhazlett6973 better than my current hair

YAY!!! Im soooo HAPPY that u uploaded a new vid!!!
I really LOVE ur videos and im a HUGE fan!!!
Thanks for your AMAZING content!!
Not even ten minutes in, and I'm getting flashbacks to cosmetology class in high school. ( I didn't take the state board, which all cosmetology students need to take and pass to get your licence, in the U.S. at least.)
Not in a bad way, your making me think about for the first time in 15 years. P.S. I love your videos Jackie.
For some reason when I first read your comment I thought you wrote you didn't take the skate board 😂😂😂 I was like "what???" until I read it a second time. I'm such a dork.
Wow this was really entertaining!
Jackie is slowly becoming a legend because her video are so good .I Watch your vid’s everyday they get better and better😃😃😃
I love how Jackie is confident in all of these videos🤗💞
I've used it on my dark hair. It shows up a deeper color of the color in the jar. (If you have gray/silver in your hair, it looks so cool with the dark hues and the pastel hues.)
I have 5 feet of hair and I scare hair dressers away so learning how to deal with your own hair can be a pain. But watching this had me cracking up laughing!
OMG, how tall are you? You have more hair than I have of all of me! (I'm 4'11") That's so awesome.
@@samariamccord4302 I’m 5’8” 😅
I legit just used that exact pink manic panic last night for my peekaboo (just the under part of my hair).. I love how pigmented it is, and with the right care, how long it can last!!
Omgosh you did a great job for first time!! And I am super flattered you used my video! Thank you 🖤
You did great tbh! Most of the problems you had where due to the hair being synthetic, wasn't even down to your lack of knowledge! Well done Jackie!
It may not be for everyone but I like it
As the short side grows out it will be purple because I usually go for either purple or green but sometimes I like both
I watch any video if your but these type of videos are definitely my favorite
I've cut my own hair for about the past 6 years now! I used to have really long hair that I could sit on and it looked lovely but I hated taking care of it so I chopped it all off for charity. After there every couple of years I do it again, just throw it up in a hairtie and chop it off, then feather out the ends over the next few days as I notice what's wonky. 😆
Yes, one of my favourite series! 💜 Thank you Jackie, you're amazing! 💜
No. Do we care? Apparently not.😂😂😂
You are my favorite "bad influence" influencer lol! Love you and your videos!!!
Jackie: "I'll be doing a haircut for the first time."
Me: "But what about the haircut you did for Sika?!?!"
Edit: Nevermind, you mentioned that like a minute later xD
Jackie, you know we love you ♥️, but I will be honest and say it, Pat is a smart guy for not letting you to cut his beard. 😅😅😅
@NerdECrafter
I just found your channel and subscribed after 2 minutes. I must say...im struggling in life and you had me laughing for the first time in a long time. I thank you for that!
Just found this channel and as a hairstylist for 23 years i find it entertaining lol
i attended a men's haircutting course last year and love it a lot and I'm still in uni, any advice in terms of career in barbering in the comments?
also, this channel never fail to do a great job in trying new things, the fact that she always could almost nail the techniques.
I just keep thinking the hair you cut of could be used for re-rooting dolls and ponies XD maybe Dollightful would like to have it if you don't XD
I love how this series emerged, just because you tried to get back at the annoying Karens. 🤣
