So im Indian (my parents are from the southern state of Kerala in India) and we actually eat alot of plantains too! We steam them and eat them as is or eat them with Puttu(which is like a steamed rice flour cake with coconut) or toss sliced plantains into a batter and fry them (this is usually like a snack/afternoon treat) Only recently did I learn that plantains are popular amongst certain Latinos as well which i think is pretty cool!

Plantains are a great staple in Jamaican dishes. Fried plantains (ripe or green) are delicious whether it's for breakfast or a side on a dinner plate. It's great when it is really sweet to balance out a very spicy dish like a Jerk Chicken meal. Thanks, for always sharing your tips and healthy/organic products that most of us haven't heard of before.

We eat plaintains that way in the morning. In southern part of india. Not so famous though. What we do is almost same. But the plaintains should be cut from the middle and the cut like normal.. fry in a pan, add a little bit of sugar and on the top of those plaintain, add raw eggs and scramble all together. Till the egg is cooked which literally takes like few seconds. And for extra taste we put a tiny amount ghee(clarified butter) on top of everything. It is HEAVEN. I really hope u give it a try. IT IS SOOOO GOOOD. and soo filling.

Love this video, as I do your other ones! I LOVE scrambled eggs as well! One trick (I learned, thanks to the Internet a couple years ago) to have thick, super fluffy scrambled eggs is to place a spoonful of Greek yogurt into the mix prior to throwing everything into the pan. Works every time!
I'm Ghanaian, so I grew up eating plantains. However, I must admit that sweet or not, I kinda got tired of eating them circa the age of 14 (b/c they're a staple part of many African dishes) -- I'm now almost 33, so at this point, I prefer non-sweetened, sea salt (especially) plantain chips! ROSS, TJMaxx, etc. tend to have a REALLY GOOD selection of plantain chips (by various brands) regularly in stock, so that's how I get 'em in nowadays! I no longer eat plantains w/ stew 'n things.
Have an amazing rest of your week!
