    A little tip for cooking off your ground beef is to brown each side of the cube before you start to break it up. Sear each side for about 2 minutes to develope a crust then start to break up the meat. You get much better results in browning and flavor.

    Dont dismiss canned sardines without trying. To me, tastes exactly like tuna yet lower mercury concerns. 22g protein per can. I put franks hot sauce on it and eat it daily. Great protein source. Also pkg wild salmon.

    Hi, Autumn,
    I've been listening to some of Dr. Casey Means' blogs on health and wellness. During her talks, she frequently references strong sources of (regenerative) protein, fat, and fiber ( i.e., *basil*, hemp & chia seeds), movement (every 30 minutes), and other health and wellness protocols. As I was listening to Dr. Means, I realized EVERYTHING she mentioned I had already learned from watching your videos. Your content is clear, accessible, and engaging.
    Thank you for all you do for your community 🎉

    Siggi's yogurt 4% tastes great! I mix it with some protein powder so I can eat roughly 1/3 of my daily protein in 5 minutes, after breakfast but before leaving the house.... Siggi's 4% plain is a great replacement for sour cream too, IMO, since it is thicker/creamier than other yogurts.

    I have been making yogurt in my instant pot (using whole grass fed milk) for a long time now because of your channel. The other week, I made cottage cheese which was an even quicker process. I used lemon juice to create the curds, but will give vinegar a try next time. I have also learned that the leftover whey can be used in a variety of ways, including being a good meat tenderizer.

    So comforting to hear IF supports gut health. I have questions on acne: Do you know if having a lot of sugar alcohol will make someone breakout with acne? Are anxiety and/or stress more responsible for breakouts? Which one of your over 800 videos addresses acne/breakouts best? Asking for a friend. Thank you Autumn. 💪❤️🇨🇦

    • @AutumnBates
      @AutumnBates  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hi Guylaine!❤️ I haven't seen anything specific to sugar alcohol and acne, but I would imagine it could. Sugar alcohols can disturb the gut microbiome when eaten in larger amounts and the GI tract is often tied to skin health. Regarding stress - I've personally noticed this can cause the occasional breakout!

    Great list. Even with brands like Safe Catch I still put seafood lower on the list because I try to keep mercury out of my diet.

    Hi Autumn! I’m 64 years old and have been struggling with trying to lose about 10 pounds and tone up. I have tried a few strategies and each time with no luck. I have hypothyroidism coupled with the post menopause ugh it’s really tough! I have been watching your videos and have implemented your high protein low carb/sugar eating plan. I also do IF 16/8 and I’ve increased my step goal to 12,000 working up to 15,000 as you recommend. I’m losing glacierly slow but I’ve only been on this plan for a couple weeks. I just made your granola and am having it on Greek yogurt with protein powder. Oh my, it is SO good! This is a plan I think I can stick to. I only eat 2 meals but I don’t get hungry in between. I’m super excited and hopeful that I can be successful! I purchased your smoothie recipe book and making them for my husband also. I just wanted to say thank you thank you thank you!! Good morning, Sage-y's mom! :) Great video, as always! :) My experience is sat. fat is NOT my friend. I hear you regarding the benefits of whole fat dairy everything, but honestly, Autumn, my LDL soooaaarrrs when I do that! (I'm 59) Red meat is a killer as well! I have to eat non-fat dairy or at least very low fat, especially cottage cheese because I eat it literally every day! :) LOVE!! 😋 I eat lots of seafood...scallops, tuna, salmon, etc. :) If you have any thoughts about any of this, please let me know! I hope you are having a great week and thank you for all your hard work! :) Kellie

    • @AutumnBates
      @AutumnBates  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Good morning! Some people do have a genetic component where they negatively react to saturated fats. However, it's also important to look at other blood markers, as LDL doesn't give a complete image of heart health. Other great studied markers that you can ask your doctor about are HDL, triglycerides and cholesterol ratio.

      I might do a full video on this because I've gotten a lot of questions on it!
      But to answer...
      I first used Intermittent Fasting to help heal my gut for a few years before introducing dairy. It wasn't super intentional, but I noticed that as my gut healed with IF, I was able to eat various dairy products without it causing issues. So then I just slowly incorporated more and more (fermented and low lactose options at first).

    I’ve been struggling (struggling!) to eat enough protein. I fill up so quickly that it’s just hard to get enough before I feel full. Pretty much every day, I have a bowl of skyr with fresh berries, and the other day it dawned on me. I can just have 1 1/2 servings of skyr with my berries instead of 1. That’s another (almost) 10 grams of protein, and not too much to eat in one sitting. On my salad, I added 6 ounces of chicken instead of 4. Another 15-ish grams. I realize this is not surprising to anyone, but I was so locked into thinking in terms of a “serving size” that I found myself searching for other things to eat for more protein, rather than simply having a bit more than a serving to begin with. It’s really made things so much easier and my protein intake has skyrocketed without any real effort!

    I subbed to this channel today. I can't eat meat. It makes me sick, I don't digest it well. I can eat about 2 ounces a day and not get sick, but that's it. So I struggle with protein ideas that's NOT meat. You have given me some good ideas about what I can eat to get more protein in my diet. Thank you. I understand that carnivore is helping a lot of people but there are people like me in this world that have medical conditions that makes consumption of meat impossible or nearly impossible. We need help and ideas too. 😁

    how did you introduce dairy? I was vegan up until last year then started eating goat and sheep cheese and kefir, but I think it triggered my rosacea which now will not go away! Is there a specific strain of probiotic to help with lactose intolerance to heal the gut?

    • @AutumnBates
      @AutumnBates  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Intermittent Fasting! And removing all snacks. Both were such a game changer for kickstarting my MMC (migrating motor complex) which helps to clean out the GI tract. I have a *lot* of videos on Intermittent Fasting if you want more info.

    I don't consume dairy and red meat, because I am suffering from piles. I don't like low fat dairy, I'd rather get the full benefit of full fat ones. I haven't had issue with lactose yet when it comes to protein powder, I don't know whether I should give concentrate or a blend ago over isolate which I prefer to use. As for fish, I know Autumn isn't a fan of salmon, I am,but it's too expensive where I live so I stick to pollock and canned skipjack tuna in brine. Cheers.

    Hi Autumn, you didn’t grow up eating the proteins you mentioned, but having done masters in nutrition which is near the top, wouldn’t that have taught you to start eating them then? Did the masters in nutrition actually teach you the information in this video or did you source it elsewhere? Apologies for my terrible writing. There seems to be a lot of people with chronic, autoimmune and other health issues getting better and off medications by doing the opposite of professional mainstream healthcare recommendations. Regards..

People struggling with EDs who are afraid of eating one slice of bread, I hope they don’t watch this. Eating a carb sometimes is not bad and these videos make me feel like I can never touch a carb or a sweet treat ever again. Yes this formula is great for weight loss, but some people do well on adding carbs like oats, rice occasionally into their diet. Jeez a teaspoon of honey in your tea will not throw off your progress! There needs to be more flexibility here

      Ppl struggling with disordered eating have to deal with it sadly. I hope they can all heal, and beat it. Triggering content/events will be everywhere. These videos may not not be for them, and it’s really up to the individual to look after themselves. There would be no way around this,m unless these videos were censored somehow, which would be crazy. I, along with many people, struggle with body issues, and look for ways to be healthy.

      @SuzanaRoth yes, it is completely fine if someone chooses to be vegetarian. That does not mean that you are entitled for other people to "include" you in their choice of context for their content. I am sure there are plenty of other people who can talk your ear off about vegetarian options. You can't expect everyone to cater to all of the above every time they post something. It's impossible. That's why there are so many content creators. People need to stop thinking they are entitled and offended when they are not "included." That is a problem with the 21st century.

    Tuna has a lot of mercury in it! Mackerel and sardines are a lot better with a lot lower mercury and wild caught salmon is the absolute best. Please ignore the recommendation for tuna in this video. I'm shocked a nutritionist is promoting that.
