The whole time I was pregnant with my second son, I craved cottage cheese and sliced peaches. Grossed my family out. But it's so good! Lol.
I buy huge bags of berries and thaw some of them in a mason jar in the fridge. When it’s empty, I rinse out and add new frozen berries.

I grew up eating cottage cheese with mandarin oranges or served as a side dish (with pepper on top). So, I love it both ways. I've always loved cottage cheese and never understood the hate. I'm glad it's having a moment! 😂
I love it too! I didn’t care for it growing up but my mom bought the low-fat and I realize now that I don’t prefer low and non-fat dairy.

Make whipped cottage cheese in blender or food processor. Come out smooth and creamy.
I used to bring this to work for lunch trick is to layer your ingredients and only stir when ready to eat
1/2 - 1c cottage cheese roasted sunflower seeds salted
sliced mushroom
1 T basalmic italian dressing on top
So delicious and very filling

One of my favorite ways to eat cottage cheese, is with roasted red peppers, pine, nuts, olives, and onion. I do like cottage cheese with fruit, but for me I can’t do the peanut butter blueberry combo. I tried it and it was just too much sweet for me so I am with your mom Autumn! Great video!!
I love cottage cheese, growing up my dad was always trying to lose weight and ate a lot of cottage cheese. We always had cottage cheese with hamburgers instead of fries. I still prefer eating CC instead of French fries.
I eat cottage cheese with a can of sardines. It’s a salty creamy protein bomb. Can’t beat it
I add chia seeds to my savory or sweet cottage cheese dishes. It boosts the protein even more while adding in essential fatty acids. The texture is fantastic and the flavor doesn’t really change.
How do you prepare your chia seeds? Out of the bag “raw” is unpleasant to me.
@@sherholubowich9627 I use less than a teaspoon so their flavor gets lost in the dish they’re with. Let them sit in the dish until they’re fully softened. Eating a large amount of dry chia is dangerous. They can expand in the intestine creating a blockage.
If you don’t like chia flavor, even when using small amounts, don’t use them. Listen to your body. There are plenty of other good foods you can use instead. Basil seeds are fantastic! Flax seed is lovely. You are allowed to enjoy your food.

If you are a fan of savory cottage cheese bowls, try adding saurkraut. I get some jalepeno lime flavored one at the grocery store and it's so good. I pair a cup of cottage cheese with veggies and hard boiled eggs.

This was such a helpful video. I’ve never thought of sautéing frozen blueberries. My husband had a bag in the freezer for smoothies so I tossed them in a pan and let them cook down and you’re right…so jammy and thick! I’ll definitely add that to my daily meal plan.

Just recently learned about whipped cottage cheese. Sounded weird but I gave it a try. It tastes just like what it is lol. BUT I mixed in vanilla protein powder, a little vanilla and WOW!!!! It turns into basically a mousse! So good. I’ve add in blueberries and/or strawberries. It’s delicious!!

My favorite cottage cheese recipe is green olives with salt and pepper. I can eat that all day! BTW - we use Colima salt, has NO microplastics in it and it has such a great flavor. Other sea salts can and do have them.

Cottage cheese with cut up tomatoes and I make my own everything bagel seasoning (minus the salt so I can add it separately when needed)

Cottage cheese is indeed great, yet I am more into full-fat Greek yoghurt (I am Greek, so it comes naturally ha-ha) and feta cheese. As for feta cheese, I am not consuming a whole lot; I'll crumble a small piece on my salads and mostly as a seasoning. Salt varies depending on a couple factors. For instance, soft feta cheese isn't as salty as hard. Also, feta cheese is produced in various parts of Greece and in each place the recipe is different when it comes to salt. I've never had egg bites; I'll certainly give it a go. Thanks Autumn.
I started learning to like cottage cheese by adding it to my scrambled eggs. As I grew to like it more, I started adding it to other meals. I now use it as a filler to my omelette instead of regular shredded cheese, and like to try it out in different recipes, like turning it into an Alfredo sauce!

You have helped me so much! You are a life changing friend. Im am so scared of the fat options vs low fat options for foods like cottage cheese. Im willing to try, but it makes me so nervus. However- any suggestions- I have a VERY ard time stopping eating once I start. My food is planned out and when it's gone I want more and seek other options and then feel super full and discouraged later. I think the foods with some more fat might help with this...? I had a pituitary tumor which is gone but it damaged the hypothalmus and it takes longer for me to feel satsiated then pre brain tumor.

I have swallowing issues( can't eat solid meats, veggies etc). On a soft or pureed diet so cottage cheese is one of my go to foods for protein. I use whole milk and add peanut butter or eggs, whipped cream,mayo to give me calories as I need to gain weight. Cottage cheese can be used in smoothies and to make ice cream.

Then a few minutes later I'll munch on a celery stick. Then I'm ready for dinner. Been also skewing towards higher protein meals. I've not eliminated carbs or sugars but simply cut back and try to make sure my carbs are 'food' ... With occasional potato chips 😜

It's such a great source of protein. I use Autumns recipes all the time. However, it gets expensive with 2 people consuming it, esp. 1 1/2 cups each per day... Any ideas how to reduce the expense? Thanks.
I’ll use less cottage cheese and just bump up the protein with protein powder. I find this helps, as I go through a lot of cottage cheese in a week!!

I absolutely love cottage cheese also. However it is loaded, loaded, loaded with sodium. Yes, you can get the no salt one but it has like no flavor but that's fine if you're going to cook with it

I would love to get on board with having cottage cheese in my fridge but there must be a milk shortage. My local Whole Foods is out of everything cottage cheese related. Even out of my favorite yogurt.

What about us folks who cannot eat dairy? I loved cottage cheese up until the point it hurts my stomach and produces gas build up. I tried the lactose free and I get the same gas build up which is so not fun! What other quick and easy no cook options are there? Same goes with Greek yogurt. I love the idea of these high protein quick meal options but the gas build up makes it a no-go. Will I be able to eat these foods down the road if I heal my guts? I tried adding protein powder to nut based yogurts but they don’t taste good in my opinion and this makes me sad.

I swear by 1 cup cottage cheese, a big scoop of salsa, 1 cup of vegan "beef" cooked, and pamasean cheese! Also I swear by 1 cup cottage cheese and 1/4 cup hummus!!!
