If I ever develop a game and an employee tells me he'd like to add Chromatic Aberration, Film Grain, or Motion blur; I'd say: "if you ever mention that again you're fired"
Haha, Nice! the chromatic aberration is used in specific game scenes which is good TBH in Spiderman 2, but in normal gameplay, I'd like it to be off too.
I pretty much always use HGIG or the equivalent term whenever possible on an OLED TV. On Samsung it’s called HDR Game ON. It always looks better in HDR. I even play SDR games with HDR always on via PS5 with HDR Game ON AKA HGIG
HDR always on usually works alright, just makes peak brightness a bit higher which is good, about HGIG, I also always prefer HGIG, unless a game is too dark and uncalibratable, in those cases I may play on SDR instead of HDR also.
Spiderman with hgig is the way i think.only if u play in the day u should switch on dtm on... For assassins creed mirage u have to go with dtm on. Hgig is wayyyy tooo dark
Why do street lights only make sense at night when the brightness is 30 and lower? The fact that Venom's shadow disappears from the surrounding shadows, in for example the opening scene of the mission "No Fear" may seem strange at first, until you turn up the brightness and realize that the shadow completely disappears when you do that. For me personally, brightness 30 is the most realistic and that's why I keep it that way
My problem is the character is kinda dim and darkly, i mean the circumstances and environment looks good , bright and fine but the character is too dim even you look to the sun in the game
Hi Danial ZH, always appreciate your help, calibration instructions and your time given to enchance our gaming experiences. Heres my issue lol, Destiny 2, i have the LG C3 and Destiny 2 looks hideous on it. I cant figure it out as I'm limited with experience with calibrating settings. I've followed a bunch of video tutorials from all the popular channels and still cant get this game looking correct. From HDR settings issues to the do I use HGIG vs DTM struggles. Destiny 2 has a Pvp Crucible mode with the option to play at 120hz, but if your in HDR while at 120hz it looks horrible. Destiny 2 doesn't use PS5's HDR calibrating settings only HDR tuning within the game. I can't find any visual sweet spots even with the o so powerful 2023 LG C3 65. Do you have any thoughts or guidance? Destiny 2 has always been a HDR challenge maybe you can figure this out for us. Thanks for what you do.
Hi, I haven't played Destiny 2 yet so I'm not sure where that issue comes from, but considering 120Hz in 4K it might be due to RGB Range, have you tried changing that and see if you get the correct gamma? I'm planning to test this game for Edge videos, so I'll look into the HDR when making that video too.
Wait, weren't we supposed to blend the Sun in the HDR calibration menu? As in 1 click higher from barely visible? Has something changed with a system update and is it now generally recommended to stay at "barely visible"
Hi, that is correct, as this is a PS5-exclusive game that uses that differently, 1 click higher is still fine but the barely visible seems to give you enough peak brightness too! you can keep it as it was, but following the instructions won't cause issues either.
Hi, as long as you don't use Uncapped, it won't lower resolution further, here's a full video of all modes and how they work: th-cam.com/video/JFJG6X2o9-g/w-d-xo.html
You're the best ! @@DanielZH And by any chance, do you know what is the (gold/white) spider indicator under Peter's bar focus ? I don't know what is used for
3:42 could you please tell me which Programm that is or how in the world you're using that on pc to measure the game always seeing this wanna do something my own aswell for myself to get the best experience with my LG G3
Hi, you need a capture card and a PC with a project from GitHub for that, here's the video I used for doing it: th-cam.com/video/t1TIGihEIe0/w-d-xo.html
Thanks for this video. Going to turn brightness to 55 and contrast to 60. ^_^ Welp, I tested 1440p and my display doesn't support it so to get 444 chroma subsampling I'd have to drop it to 1080p which is a big nope. Lol 422 still looks good as the luminance levels still change the color even though each 2 pixels are going to be the same chrome samples.
Glad I could help! The 4:2:2 is fine as I mentioned, the biggest difference is only noticeable in 4:2:0, and yes, even 4K 4:2:0 is preferred over 1080p RGB for me.
Is there any sites or something where one can check his tv for hdr? I’d like to check my peak brightness and all that…and I can’t tell if it’s better or not to use hdr on the ps5. I like the blacks more on sdr, but color wise, with hdr on. 😅
Ecco i test: www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/samsung/mu6100
It is presented in LG TVs to give you an accurate HDR, in other TVs like Samsung use Contrast enhancer off, and in Sony, Gradation preferred. monitors usually don't have Tone mapping so they're like on HGIG by default.

Film grain is actually useful if a game has a lot of color banding it hide it pretty well.

DTM on and your contrast and brightness settings are solid👍🏻

I'd suggest you lookup what tone mapping is. HGiG is a fancy way of them saying that they disabled all tone mapping on the tv.
