I currently don’t have any WiFi 6e devices (2021 iPad Pro & iPhone 13 Mini), I might end up looking into a home WiFi upgrade next year. So we’ll see when the release date is for WiFi 7.

Wi-Fi 6e Acer Predator W6 - unlimited bandwidth from my ISP (Rogers) with a 1.5G down and 50Mb up. My M2 MBP MAX firing on all cylinders sucks down with around 1.7Gpbs - They warrant the 1.5 but at the times that I am up the network is less congested. Wi-Fi 6e can also ALL sorts of issues with network cards, the Intel AX211 is notorious. The main reason it can be this fast is that my modem supports 2.5Gb and the router supports this too. We live in a small home, about 1300 sq/f, but outside in the sun room I just use 5G. Wi-Fi 7 is for sure the biggest jump forward, and about time too. Also we need to keep looking the mac-addresses and the ipv6 ranges to make sure we don't get caught with our pants down as we did with ipv4.

They should just jump the Wi-Fi 7 at this point. It’s inexcusable how it’s been two iPhone iterations so far on $1000+ “Pro” devices and it doesn’t have Wi-Fi 6E.

iPhone 14 Pro & 15 Pro have WiFi 6e capabilities. I’ve owned both phones in the past and they do connect to WiFi 6e. You’ll need a router that can run WiFi 6e. You can tell it’s snappier. But not all that much of a difference.

If I turn on WiFi 6e do I lose spectrum for my older devices? Like does network performance suffer in any way. Or is it built on top of the technology. Like when I’m connected to a 5ghz band is wifi 6e effective or is it only if I’m in the 6ghz band

To be honest, I really don’t care about 6E. I’m more excited about WiFi 7’s MLO or Multi Link Operation. Why choose between 2.4, 5 or 6GHz when MLO connects to all three simutaniously.

Hi Andrew, do you mind showing screenshots how one can tell whether his iPhone 15 Pro is connected to WiFi 6E? I have a WiFi 6E router to which my iPhone 15 Pro is connected. However, on my iPhone it is still the same standard WiFi icon shown at the top right hand corner of my iPhone screen.

I have an Xfinity XB8 Tri-Band (2.4/5/6) Modem/WiFi combo box that should support WiFi 6E. I went out and bought an M2 MacBook Pro that supports WiFi 6E and compared my WiFi data rates with my M1 MacBook Pro that only supports WiFi 6. The data rates were the same for both Mac's sitting right next to the XB8. Eventually a Xfinity Tech came out to my house for another problem with their base station. He eventually told me that in the XB8 the 6GHz is turned OFF in the XB8. What's going on?

No!, No!, No!, Ignore wi-fi 6E. The important thing is Wi-Fi 7!. IGNORE Everything else! You want Wi-fi 7. There is nothing more important than wi-fi 7!. Don't buy a phone until it has Wi-Fi 7! Wi-Fi 7 is the future today. You will get so much more better and more nutritious. It has no preservatives, and faster. So much faster (3%) . Or So the marketing goes!

Quick question: you know iPhone 15 Pro and new MacBook Pro has wifi 6E, but my question is about this function Apple has on this new devices and it's supposed to connect to the frequency 5GHz and 6GHz, to have better connectivity. You may not experience the prompt message if you have all three frequencies with the same name, because it does it automatically, but the function still there. This being said, is this supposed to make the connection twice as fast (since 5GHz and 6GHz in wifi 6E has same bandwidth) or it's just a redundant connection in case one of the frequencies fails? I have a wifi 7 router, 10gb fiber connection and I'm still downloading on the iPhone at 1.6gb max, with the proper configuration on the router. I thought if the iPhone is connection to both frequencies, at least would go twice as fast.

We do not have Wi-Fi 6E on our router. It goes back to 2019. What was the standard in 2019? It runs great! We don’t replace the router unless we have issues with the current one or something. Freaky happens like a lightning strike. That’s when we had to replace the last router was after a lightning strike. It was a perfect day and all of a sudden this loud boom and lightning struck the house or something. I had to get a new TV at the same time. I sure would like to see better technology at both parks and Stadiums/arenas. I go to a lot of sporting events, and I always have trouble connecting to the Wi-Fi net work once everyone is inside. A lot of the ball parks are open air, but some of them have retractable roofs for protection from inclement weather. Where do you think connectivity for your car will go up? Wi-Fi in the car has been around a while. I have not tried it but I’ve heard it is really good. I sure would like to have affordable Wi-Fi built into the car so that way I don’t have to rely on using my cell Netwerk on my phone or iPad. When I’m at a game, I use my phone as a radio so I can hear play by play and understand what is going on. Right now I have an iPhone 12 but I am in the process of upgrading to the iPhone 15 Pro in September.

Well, wifi 6 is wifi 5 (because it works on the 5ghz channel) and wifi 6e is wifi 6 (so they fu** up with names)
I do have wifi 6e router right now, but I honestly use Wi-Fi6 instead all the time. So wifi 6 is king for the majority of people.

Was curious about the latest technology, but don't need yet another obsolete device sitting in the closet awaiting the landfill. God I hate technology and the constant obsolescence path they're created. Not even an environmentalist, but even I can visualize millions of old devices being shipped by train to eastern Oregon and then thrown into a giant hole in the ground, as happens here with household waste.
