    USB-C is SO worth it! Better late than never.

    Your videos recently started getting recommended to me over the last month or so, and I gotta, I just love your energy! One of the few times I’m grateful the all-mighty algorithm came thru 🙌🏼 idk what your day job is, but I wish you the greatest success on this TH-cam channel 🙏🏼

    Stephen - you always have such good ideas and recommendations......Apple should hire you as a consultant! Thanks for all your videos - I really enjoy them and learn a lot from you.

    Speaking as someone who doesn’t currently have a computer - that copy your pics and share it to an SSD drive….? EXCELLENT!!!
    I really like your videos - gives me so many ideas, that I hope some day even I can have a channel and make videos/podcasts, etc… learn something new at age 54 (soon.)

    In Photos go to Library, view by Day, click Select and the option to select all will be there. 👍

      I see it! Won't select all photos and videos across your entire library though.

    Really considering upgrading from the 14 Pro just for the USB C usage. I’m a content creator and I own a media business. I’m sure it would make life easier in some ways.

      It’s been really useful. Just a couple days ago I was visiting someone and they wanted to give me a large video file from an external SSD. I only had my iPhone, but I was able to connect the SSD, save the video to my Files app, and I was good to go!

    I connect a 4 TB Crucial X9 SSD via a short one inch M-M USB-C bridge to the iPhone15 Pro to record video. It works great though a few times about a month or so ago the iPhone did not recognize that the SSD was inserted into the iPhone when I began to record 4K/60 video. The phone usually provides a "USB-C" text in the UI when the SSD is plugged into the phone. I needed to reboot the phone for this to work.

      Interesting. You could try the free BlackMagic camera app too. It’s been rock solid for me.

    The Lightning port was brilliant, in it's time.

    How do you, for creators like myself, use an external SSD (eg Samsung T7) with a wireless microphone (eg Hollyland Lark M2) when all we have on the IPhone Pro Max, is the one USB C port?

    I am concerned about USB-C Power and Data cable interoperability among other vendors and Apple devices. And, I am concerned about less expensive USB-C to USB cables, or to lightning working with older devices, if not made by Apple...

      That's why I typically go with cable brands I trust. Anker, UGreen, and Baseus

    Does all this work on the base iPhone 15? I understated they’ve limited the functionality of the USB-C port on the regular model.

      Everything but recording Prores video directly to an external SSD!

      @@beardfm That’s a shame. That was my favorite feature highlighted in your video. Thanks for the reply!

    It’s definitely a great feature to have on the 15 pro. Not something you “need” but great to have

    I have the same OWC Drive that you do but I can’t get it to work with my iPhone 15 Pro. How do you format it?

    • @beardfm
      @beardfm  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I use APFS but you can actually erase (format) it when connected to your iPhone in the files app!

    Great vid, Stephen!, I wonder what's the difference between recording Pro-Res using the Blackmagic app (without needing external storage) and using the native camera iPhone app?

    • @beardfm
      @beardfm  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The BlackMagic app has more settings to granularly control the video, like manual focus ring, white balance settings, etc., plus you can choose a specific folder on the external SSD rather than the default from the built-in camera app

    Does anyone know if it can work with a USB-C touchscreen, to make it into a big 'iPhone-like' tablet?

    • @beardfm
      @beardfm  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No, that kind of functionality is not available
