You could actually say that cog skip skip is a perfect callback to dino skip skip, because dino skip is using a dino to skip, and cog skip is using cogs to skip

Your breakdown was accurate, informative, and perhaps most important, very approachable!! I will certainly be pointing anyone with questions towards this video.
That was my angle tbh, I spent a fair amount of time looking for something different or a better setup, but I couldnt find anything. So I hoped to give people a solid starting point if they wanna run the game. Whats better than getting the fastest people to pitch in!
Honestly for anyone watching that wants to learn this. It takes about 2 hours and it’s consistent, it’s actually not bad, and is a good skill to know. For me, you just start a new file, and try it until the master sword breaks, then reload. Do that over and over again. And make sure to backflip when you’re up there, to guarantee you get it. Compared to learning shrine clipping for the first time, this one’s pretty easy. Good luck to anyone trying! It doesn’t take that long! You got this!
I’m just a casual speedrun viewer but I watched this video like my life depended on it 😂 there’s so many tricks in this run that can be hard for viewers to understand, so this was an amazing explanation!

The "three outcomes" at 7:10 misses a crucial fourth outcome: you swing your weapon because putting the run and jump buttons opposite to each other makes them a lot harder to push correctly.
Great video, love seeing all the different setups broken down. In actual runs the setup is usually done too fast for the runner to actually explain live.

@@Poke-Neil in the end it doesn’t need to be extremely fast inputs. The window for the attack is pretty forgiving, as long as you are getting the speed boost from jumping off the slanted edge
@@Poke-Neil so it’s run>jump>hold R pretty fast. After hold R just chill and attack. Hold R to attack doesn’t need to be quick. Hope this helps, feel free to DM me on discord with a video of your attempt I’ll help where I can
Cog Skip Skip is skipping cog skip but cog skip isn't cog skip it's early wings so we weren't skipping any cogs. I argued that we were using a cog to skip rather than skipping cog so cog skip is cog skip skip because we were skipping these cogs to skip.

The fact you have to Watch the intro cutscene every time you fail makes this so much harder
It does, and the runs submitted after the intro cutscene was reintroduced, first try CSS runs dropped dramatically.
I'd recommend learning with the master sword or a stronger weapon on a casual file for many more tries

hey ive been trying to long jump but link is turning only 90 ish degrees and not the full 180 any tips so this doesn't happen for me?

@@Poke-Neil most likely. As long as you are running toward the camera, jump and hold R, then wait til he is aiming the other way, then attack.
@@Poke-Neil try attacking way after the throw aim so you get a feel for it, then speed it up until it’s right after link turns all the way
