Incredible story with an amazing result! In botw, LegendofLinkk found something similar where you can escape Plateau by interrupting a Korok cutscene. Even if you could go straight to Sanctum, the void takes priority. The fact that it doesn't in this game, and so many other factors lined up to make reaching the trigger possible at all, makes for one incredible accomplishment!
It's insane that when we started thinking about low%, of all the things that could be skipped, map completion seemed fairly trivial. Just beating the game avoiding some GSI locations and clipping through the surface to get to the depths without entering a chasm. Avoiding the shrines or ToT wasn’t even conceivable. I was satisfied with that and went looking into lowering the other stuff that we consider game progression. Nonetheless at the same time the Text Diving research started taking force, the concept was cool but it still seemed such a monumental task. you can technically skip the Great Plateau, all you have to do is make around 10 stamina regen meals/elixirs, get a metal plate to the east edge of the Great Plateau, use stasis and hit it a bunch of times into the direction of lake Hylia, then get on top of it before stasis ends and swim as much to the east as possible. Of course, you'd have effectively locked half the game including the ganon fight, you'd have to be extremely careful with your movement to not get teleported back and you still need to do a bunch of save file transfer shenanigans to even be able to get to Ganon which makes it useless for speedruns
Even with all this research and progress, it’s incredible to me how robust Nintendo‘s programming still is. Other games would have fallen completely apart months ago.
if you could trigger the "For Our Princess!" quest, that counts as a minigame and once you close it maybe you could roam the main Hyrule. You can gas warp to the minigame from the army fight, but it requires setup when you're at the minigame, then go to army and void out, and keep the colored sages. Edit: There are specific story flags that tell you how far in the game you are, A state without GSI voidout is "LookingForZelda", and the army is past that, referenced as either "GoToDeepHole" and/or "DefeatMonsterArmy", I'm not sure. When you go to army early, it tricks the game into thinking you are done with GSI, removing the voidout. Minigames wouldn't work to escape GSI as I don't think it would overwrite these flags, leading to voidouts
Incredible work! Big props for proving such an elusive thing is possible, and before the game has even been out for a year, too. Here's hoping there will still be enough of those cute patches by the time I get paid...!
This is a great video. I love how you document all the highs and the lows. Really makes the video so much better when you show exactly why things are hard
I saw the first two rules and went “oh you’re gonna use some bug to make the game think you’re in dialogue” then I remembered this isn’t Pokémon and the game is actually coded correctly
The big difference is that unlike Watch for Rolling Rocks, this one is RTA viable. The level of technical effort on display is very much on par with that though.
You really are a faking Genius., I admire you so much! At least you can say someone (I) have watched the entire video at least 3 times till now, hoping I will replicate the same results. Thank you so much for your time and your efforts Timber. Here you have your maybe number one fan.
this is amazing.even in botw, you couldn't skip the great platow without IST to transfer the paraglider.the closect thing was using ARMS and a early master bike.and that was after like 5years of completely breaking the game
It's really incredible the amount of work and effort that goes into all this content created by you, in a way it makes me feel some pride, you've done great Timber thank you for creating all this amazing content your perseverance is magnificent
All I can say to this is wow, this is amazing! Totk hasn't even been out for a year, and we've already done something we couldn't do in botw, but always dreamed of!
This is absolutely insane and awesome. Great job on this video!!! It's super well put together, and entertaining while still being educational IMO. The whoole package. Probably my favorite Zelda channel right now, easily.
Congrats! I can't imagine how much work it took! You not only achieved in less than a year what no one was able to achieve in Breath of the Wild but you also put together a well edited, fantastic amount of work into explaining how you got there. Thank you so much for sharing your discovery with us!!
Link woke up and went "ganondorf exists and that's the first thing i need to fix today" Also kinda curious if this messes anything up. I would expect not because you can't really have a game state with the doof defeated, but still.
The Legend of Zelda: No Tears, No Kingdom... I laughed out loud at that. This is by far the coolest thing I've seen done with any of the glitches in TotK! Great stuff!
I can't believe how much time and effort you put into this. It's just like so respectable how you wanted to achieve this goal so much that you found new tech AND spent 45 minutes falling at a snails pace for every single run. Hats off to you, great work, and congrats on figuring it out!
the level of persistence in this is absolutely beautiful. Thank you for taking the time and putting in the work to clear this goal. The fact that this is possible is just mind boggling. The fact that it might become something people have to do in order to complete lowest% is absolutely hilarious.
Thank you so much, ever since the game came out I believed it to be possible, not because of luck, but because of the hard work of glitch hunters like you guys. I have been eagerly waiting for this video since tears came out. Congratulations dude. Top tier respect
Wow. The combination of glitches is insane. I don’t think I would have been able to keep up with the attempts that long! I wonder if there is a way to make link fall during the dialogue faster?
if i had a nickel for every time a low% speedrun required Link/us to stare at a text box for an obnoxiously long time to clip through walls and skip major events/items, id have two nickels, which isnt a lot, but its weird that it happened twice
This video really does justice to the science of glitch hunting and use. This is also one of the only videos ive seen that shows the whole process of this. Congrats on this discovery, keep doing what you do!
I love your videos-showing how to break Tears of the Kingdom to its maximum-and it's awesome to know a lot of them are tied to an even _bigger_ sequence break- which you've crazily enough managed to pull off. I applaud your dedication!
The keys to move one frame are actually , and . < and > are only relevant if you're using an English ANSI keyboard, but most countries have a different keyboard layout
I love your content, I started watching at the "Sneaking an item into the title screen:, and any time one of your videos come up in my recommended, I always know I'm going to get some quality content! Love the work, keep it up!
One of the most overlooked soundtracks of any game in my opinion. The worst part about the game being seemingly forgotten is the music also being forgotten
This was really cool to watch! As a glitchhunter for a lot of other games, I could really relate to the process you went through to figure this out. Awesome video!
I'd love to see a full unedited run of this in some GDQ, even if it's pre-recorded (as a proof of concept). If it were done live, we'd need something to do while falling & void-surfing, like any%ing TotK on a separate console.
For sure! I only have one capture card, I need to get another. But I’m sure there is something to do during that time. I am working on a GSI skip editless video. Just from setup to the end of the game. I just need to get one that’s not embarrassing haha. I mess up too much!
This is SO COOL. It really goes to show that no matter how old,new or advanced something may be there is always something to be discovered... Maybe someday the Great Plateau will crumble... As clichè as it may sound... nothing is truly impossible.

This is only the start!
This is a great video. I love how you document all the highs and the lows. Really makes the video so much better when you show exactly why things are hard
A very tiny ant sent me this way, and god damn it was worth it! Very good stuff, keep up the good work!
Same
I saw the first two rules and went “oh you’re gonna use some bug to make the game think you’re in dialogue” then I remembered this isn’t Pokémon and the game is actually coded correctly
This feels like Tears of the Kingdom's version of 'Watch for Rolling Rocks - 0.5x A Presses'.
The big difference is that unlike Watch for Rolling Rocks, this one is RTA viable.
The level of technical effort on display is very much on par with that though.
congrats for the skip gsi thanks to you they could find new glitches
Who would've guessed traveling between split timelines would be the way to beat a zelda game?
Right?!
The legend of Zelda, a link between timelines
You really are a faking Genius., I admire you so much! At least you can say someone (I) have watched the entire video at least 3 times till now, hoping I will replicate the same results. Thank you so much for your time and your efforts Timber. Here you have your maybe number one fan.
How about we give this masterpiece of a glitch a name? Great Sky Island Skip: GSIS. Tears of the Kingdom now has its Jesus.
this is amazing.even in botw, you couldn't skip the great platow without IST to transfer the paraglider.the closect thing was using ARMS and a early master bike.and that was after like 5years of completely breaking the game
It's really incredible the amount of work and effort that goes into all this content created by you, in a way it makes me feel some pride, you've done great Timber thank you for creating all this amazing content your perseverance is magnificent
Wow, thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it! I appreciate you saying that. I hope to keep it up!
Congrats! I can't imagine how much work it took! You not only achieved in less than a year what no one was able to achieve in Breath of the Wild but you also put together a well edited, fantastic amount of work into explaining how you got there. Thank you so much for sharing your discovery with us!!
I want that Zelda noodle that you showed off at 30:37. WHERE DID YOU GET IT????
Link woke up and went "ganondorf exists and that's the first thing i need to fix today"
Also kinda curious if this messes anything up. I would expect not because you can't really have a game state with the doof defeated, but still.
The Legend of Zelda: No Tears, No Kingdom... I laughed out loud at that. This is by far the coolest thing I've seen done with any of the glitches in TotK! Great stuff!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you for explaining this in a very accessible way! I find it hard to keep up with these sorts of videos because the terminology is so specific.
Finally a new Upload from Timber :) And this seems to be a big one :Q
just play the game at 0 fps
Isn't it 1 fps? If it was 0 then that mean NO frames per second. The game, i'm pretty sure, would just be stck on one frame.
I can't believe how much time and effort you put into this. It's just like so respectable how you wanted to achieve this goal so much that you found new tech AND spent 45 minutes falling at a snails pace for every single run.
Hats off to you, great work, and congrats on figuring it out!
absolute immense amount of dedication, thanks so much for the video, I hope it helps make Low% happen!!!
Oh this definitely pushes low%. Dunno how popular it's gonna be as a category, but this is a massive find.
the level of persistence in this is absolutely beautiful. Thank you for taking the time and putting in the work to clear this goal. The fact that this is possible is just mind boggling. The fact that it might become something people have to do in order to complete lowest% is absolutely hilarious.
I have a theory where this is going..
A GAME THEORY
THANKS FOR WATCHING
@@AstalWuzHereBut hey, that’s just a theory - a GAME THEORY
Thank you so much, ever since the game came out I believed it to be possible, not because of luck, but because of the hard work of glitch hunters like you guys. I have been eagerly waiting for this video since tears came out. Congratulations dude. Top tier respect
Wow. The combination of glitches is insane. I don’t think I would have been able to keep up with the attempts that long!
I wonder if there is a way to make link fall during the dialogue faster?
if i had a nickel for every time a low% speedrun required Link/us to stare at a text box for an obnoxiously long time to clip through walls and skip major events/items, id have two nickels, which isnt a lot, but its weird that it happened twice
my body is ready
Holy mother of god that was phenomenal to watch! I feel inspired.
Awe thanks! Inspiring someone sounds pretty cool ngl.
Thank u smant!
Rauru: you are very determined to not get super power I give you that.
amazing video, and kudos to such a good idea for merchandising your channel. Love that space cat patch!
here before the bombardment of “here from smallant” comments (I am one of them)
Pretty sure most people clicked off before the shoutout so most of us who will get here have
Holy crap, I never thought this day would come. The layers upon layers of genius here are absurd. You glitch hunters are crazy.
What is bro doing to skip gsi💀💀💀
First time seeing this channel. Bought the patch simply because its a good design! Also great video!
This video really does justice to the science of glitch hunting and use. This is also one of the only videos ive seen that shows the whole process of this. Congrats on this discovery, keep doing what you do!
This video was insane!
Props to you, Timber, that was better routing than some speedruns!
Awesome thanks for coming back!
6:44 OMG DE BLOB MUSIC LETS GOOOO
BARELY ANYONE EVEN KNOWS THAT GAME EXISTS AND ITS MY FAVOURITE. IT WAS MY ENTIRE CHILDHOOD. INSTANT SUBSCRIBE
One of the most overlooked soundtracks of any game in my opinion. The worst part about the game being seemingly forgotten is the music also being forgotten
This was really cool to watch! As a glitchhunter for a lot of other games, I could really relate to the process you went through to figure this out. Awesome video!
9:55 dude the way the flute from the stable theme meshed with the background music right here. Such a good lick in this context
Loved watching every minute of this, great job! ❤
I came from small ant, awesome video! The best I've seen on TOTK
SmallAnt sent me here. I never was into breaking the game this way but I do admire the dedication and persistence. Congrats
The complexity and ingenuity of this has me absolutely floored. This is incredible dude. Bravo
This was truly amazing, and fun to watch!! I was cheering for you throughout the video ❤
This is SO COOL. It really goes to show that no matter how old,new or advanced something may be there is always something to be discovered...
Maybe someday the Great Plateau will crumble...
As clichè as it may sound... nothing is truly impossible.
