    Also in Hunter B-15's TemPad appears the number "616.432" when she's sent to capture Loki. And "ETH-616" appears at the end of Loki's recording. The 616 also appears in The Defenders promotional poster.

    My personal headcanon is that 616 is some sort of constant to refer to any sort of "prime universe". So within the local multiverse of the MCU, it is 616, same with Spider-Verse. But within the larger marvel multiverse, the MCU is 199999.

    • @PenneySounds
      @PenneySounds  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Except the MCU main universe was designated 616 independently by sources from both within universe 616 and outside of it, as universe 838 also designated it 616.
      Why is it so hard to accept that the film multiverse isn't part of the comic multiverse?

      @@PenneySounds No you're probably right as far as what they've actually said and what's officially canon. I guess that explanation is just less interesting/fun to me personally. This isn't so much me trying to explain away what they're saying and more just how I personally view it because it's more fun to me personally that way. You're probably right as far as their actual intention though.

      @@PenneySounds For the same reason you can't recognize Marvel TV projects as non-canon for the MCU - it's been said a hundred times in the comics that all Marvel projects (comics, movies, games, animated series) are in the same multiverse.

    "The MCU was initially labeled as Earth-199999 in the Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe A to Z, but the recent timeline confirms Earth-616 as the official designation."

      Earth-616 is the main Marvel comic book Earth. In that Earth, Tony Stark became Iron Man during the Vietnam War, Captain America was released from the ice 20 years after World War 2 in the mid 1960's instead of the early 2010's, and the original Avengers in that alternate reality was Iron Man, Hulk, Thor and Hank Pym Ant Man, Captain America was still in ice when the Avengers were founded in that reality.

    Slightly irks me that Mysterio just pulled a number out of the aether (MCU pun) and then Multiverse of Madness just tried to make it canon😂 the fact that Kevin Feige actually thinks it to be true is worrying though.
    Also for the uninitiated in the comments, no the MCU is not Earth-616; it’s canon designation is Earth-199999. 616 is, always has and will be, the mainstream comic universe and the use of the number in the movies & shows is purely referential.
    MoM pretty much establishes that even the smartest people alive (or rather now smartest spaghetti alive) in Earth-838 are ridiculously dumb so their Earth number designations cannot be considered to be binding :)

      Except he didn't pull it out of the aether. He clearly did research for the role he was playing. By reading Selvig.
      And yes, the MCU's main universe is 616. That's been clearly established.

    It's Mort. Also Katie. Yes, Katie (The Devourer of Worlds), from "Horton Hears a Who", and Mort (I Am Death Incarnate), from "Madagascar" -- and in a titanic fight to the death. As such, they are creating multiverses on top of multiverses. This will bring the end of everything in 2023. At least I hope it does.

    SPOILER WARNING!!!!!?!1!!!!?!!

    But if the MCM only exists as a result of Sylvie’s actions, then it was always destined to reassert itself in that way, despite the TVA’s determination (pun not intended) in maintaining the GST… wait… is the whole Marvel Cinematic Universe storyline a thinly veiled satire of IRL politics? 😂

  • @lexruptor
    @lexruptor ปีที่แล้ว +4

    The MCU is 199999. Not 616. Also this vid lacked a scene from Loki where when the film rolls out at the end of the TVA Main Loki 3D vid thing, the film roll has 616 on the end of it. All of these are supposed to be easter eggs, the MCU isn't intended to be 616. 616 is the comics, and that universe is already extensively defined, so beyond just a numbers game, we can say definitively they are different universes, and therefore definitively that the comics 616 is in fact 616, while the MCU is not.
