beautiful open gate project. Back in the day labels!! thank you for all the nice comments on my channel. You are doing great with your channel. I like how you quilted your small ones
Those Christmas quilts at the start are gorgeous! Appliquéing that parrots out into the border just really brings that quilt to life, love the colours in it.
Thank you so much! Monique at Open Gate Quilts is such a wonderful designer, isn't she? I think I had an additional parrot fussy cut but it flew away! It will probably show up at some point but the quilt will have already left for the recipient.
Your Christmas projects all look great but your parrots look fantastic. I love how you did the applique on, it really elevates the quilt. I'm also more excited to see your Mexican Stars project come together, I am super curious about it. I've made a set of mug rugs out of some crumb pieces and finished last years temp quilt top. Now I just need to iron it, trim any excess threads, find or make the backing and bring it to my local long armer. For the tiny pieces, I too collect them and since my house is drafty, I've made door draft stoppers and plan to make more and gift them in my Buy Nothing Group. I baste scrap batting, (I used the scrap from my quilt as you go projects), and ugly fabric i'll never use together and turn them into a tube with one side open. The I stuff it full using the little bits and bobs, then I close the side up when it's full. I then shove that tube into another fabric tube that matches my home decor. I've made one and a half with the pieces from last year. They're dense and weighty enough to stay in place.
@@fredmakesthings What a great idea for the tiny pieces! I'll keep saving them up. I might use them first to make a long cat bed for the shelf that my cats lay on. I have one shelf that I left empty for them above my crafting table and they lounge up there and watch me. However I only have it covered with some towels right now, which they are constantly crumpling up and discombobulating. We can definitely use more door draft stoppers too!

take some scrap fabric to make a star or two before diving into the kit fabric.
Good Idea! Thank you!
