Thank you for inspiring us and showing us your techniques which help us have more lovely sewing. I have been doing sewing of all kinds for almost 70 years and am still learning. Watching your videos and listening to you is definately good for MY mental health, dear.
Watching this made me feel really happy, I love stitching & have only just got into patchwork/quilting. You have really inspired me to make a memory quilt, I also love the idea of it being double sided when it is finished. You are a joy to watch & very calming to listen to. Thank you Emma for sharing all the things that make you happy 🪡🧵🧶
I have been sewing, quilting, cross stitching and embroidering for 62 years and the joy and love of it has not diminished at all. It’s truly a blessing to have this desire or talent or whatever you call it. Happy creating!!!!
Emma, how relaxing it was just watching you place all of your different colours together, and your calming voice, you are an inspiration to me. Thank you for this beautiful little video, it has really helped me. Love from Australia 🇦🇺 ❤
This is my favorite sewing channel. I watch your videos and really unwind. I'm going to try some of your ideas in 2025. Thank you for sharing. ❤️ Alabama USA
What a lovely little video so calming to listen and watch while you stitch it certainly is good for your soul I first started slow stitching in 2018 after making my first ever quilt (which was a no waste quilt) never had so much left over material 😂😂, anyway I was going through hell at work from bullying and I started doing little hand stitched cards just so this material wasn't wasted and I became hooked ,love it ❤ . I now look after my mother, who has dementia after taking early retirement from work, and again, stitching has saved me. Can't recommend it enough
I’m sorry you’ve been through such difficult times but I’m glad you’ve had stitching to turn to, it’s hard to explain just how much it helps until you experience it yourself. Take care of yourself x
I have always enjoyed sewing and quilting. It’s so refreshing to see young people taking up quilting and sewing along with hand embroidery. I always enjoy watching your videos.❤️🥰❤️
Watched your video for the first time. I used to sew bits and pieces but not for a few years now. Lost the passion for it but watching you video it's making me wanting to start sewing again. Love the quilt you demonstrated. Thankyou for giving me the sewing bug back😊
Learning to slow down a bit so you can enjoy sewing without the stress, that is what I now aim for. I feel that the 'slow stitch' ethos helps with that change in attitude. Feel the fabric and enjoy the process - yes, I agree with you on that.
What a beautiful relaxing video. I couldn’t agree more with what you have to say about sewing being good for mental health and slowing down. Thank you!
I loved watching your video Emma. You have a lovely caring and generous way of sharing your knowledge with encouragement and kindness. It’s very true that sewing soothes your soul. It certainly does mine. I joined a lovely local group to stitch once a week and it’s been a lovely experience that I know look forward to and I’m learning so much from the other ladies and generous people like yourselves who give a lot of time to TH-cam so thank you. 😊
Oh what lovely words, thank you Christine. Joining a local group is such a lovely thing to do, nothing better than stitching and friendship, thank you for watching 🌸
This was inspiring and uplifting, Emma. I agree that sewing is good for our mental health, and I remember your talk on mindful and mindless sewing - each has its own benefits. I enjoy small projects best, although it's satisfying to see a larger quilt grow too. Happy New Year to you and your family, Emma. May your business prosper and grow and may you continue to find much joy in your work and life🙏❤
I know sewing has made and changed my life full of greatness! I was able to work in Upholstery shop and also make lots of wonderful things for myself and others.
Happy New year Emma! I started sewing since I retired last year and I love it. I do all sorts, cross stitch, surface embroidery, all and patchwork. I also knit and crochet. I love your videos, I find them really relaxing as well as informative. Thank you for your time.xx
Thankyou…..your memories quilt has inspired me! My grandmother gave me embroidery supplies and quilt blocks to embroider. I was looking at them yesterday and realized all of the blocks are pretty much finished just a little bit left to do. I’ve never felt inspired to use it as a quilt until now seeing your memory quilt. This will be a very fun project to move ahead with. Thank you so much❤
A Very Happy New Year to you, Emma. Thank you so much for taking the time to make such wonderful videos which are always "quietly inspiring" and I'm really looking forward to seeing your 2025 projects. Diana. xxx
I loved this video. You inspired me to do some work on an embroidered quilt for my daughter. I actually started it over a year ago and it was to be a gift for the Christmas just gone. I feel sure it will be finished for the coming Christmas. And I absolutely love your memory quilt. 😊💕
Thanks so much for watching. Sometimes things just need to take that bit longer but it will be so worth it, I’m sure you’ll do it for this Christmas and it will be even more special, what a lovely gift for your daughter
Thank you Emma for such a true reminder, sewing with something beautiful really is a type of happy medicine. I so appreciate what you add to our world!
I really enjoyed your video, for the first time I could see it isn't so difficult to sew hexagons! I have ME/CFS and have to rest a lot, and I tend to over complicate things in my head! You have given me the confidence to have a go! I bought a monthly quilt kit to make my grandson a seaside quilt, but haven't had the confidence to get started! But now I feel I want to give it a try! I am an experienced knitter, so this will be a real change for me, thank you so much ! You have really inspired me to try! I am looking forward to your next video xx🌹
I’m so glad to hear that, you can definitely do it, especially if you are a knitter because knitting can be complicated, you will be able to transfer skills from knitting to quilting like following instructions measurements etc. hope you enjoy your new stitching journey 🌸
Thank you for this lovely video. I love listing to you as it relaxes me. It makes a lot of sense to slow down and sew at your own speed I am inspired to make a hexagon quilt with special fabric on both sides. Hope you have a great 2025
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. These Elmhirst fabrics are so lovely. Unfortunately they don't ship to Germany. I'm sewing whenever I have the time. Just to get my mind free and relax. Its a beautiful hobby.
I really love all your little projects you showed in the beginning of this video. Thank you for your little inspirational chat. I love sewing and quilting. I also love making things for others. I just made a gnome doll for a friend. She loves it. Keep up the good work and inspiring me to do more. God bless you.
What a lovely video! The fabrics are exquisite and charming all at once. I miss sewing-- I've been working on some other projects. I have an old sewing machine from the forties and though it's a very simple without any bells and whistles, it gets the job done. I love the rhythm, the feel of the fabric, the colors. Thank you for your peaceful video. I'm looking forward to more.
I really look forward to being a part of your community. I do machine embroidery, regular sewing, etc. I have been trying my hand around hand embroidery also. I have a lot of blocks made with my machine. ❤
I'm definitely planning to do more sewing this year, but more than that this video helped me stick with a frustrating bit of mending that's been on my plate for several months - I finished it right as you were wrapping up! Thank you for the encouragement and motivation 😊
I love your videos Emma! Love your sewing, your projects and ideas, even your voice ❤ I usually watch your videos early in the morning while having my breakfast and i love that. Thank you so much for always cheering me up ❤❤
Lovely video Emma, those fabrics are gorgeous, I definitely need to collect more of them for my stash. I like the idea of a seasonal slow stitch book, you could add your lovely embroidery into it too. Leela xx❤
Thank you so much for this great video….. I am in the process of starting a hand sewn quilt and I feel this is the way forward for me💕 Wish you the very best for 2025 and look forward to watching more of your videos 🦋💕🌸
You and my mum are the main reasons I started EPP and sewing. Keep up the good work. Have a productive, healthy and happy 2025. Thank you for sharing these lovely fabrics. I am now having problems choosing which fabric and ribbons to buy from the Elmhirst website😅😅
A very soothing video. Thank you. I was in the midst of putting away the Christmas decor and wishing I could be working on a small quilt I am making for a Great Grandaughter. I feel much better now and will work on the quilt when I can. Blessings and happy sewing.
I really enjoyed this. Visually it was beautiful and since I am on a very tight budget right now there was something really satisfying about watching your hands go through all of these things. It felt almost like shopping but without any money spent. I also found a lot of inspiration in the way you have things organized and displayed. I have already entered 2025 knowing that this is the year I am going to get back to sewing and crafting with my hands. Just yesterday I decided to take an extra toon in the house and clean it out to make a crafting /sewing area. I’ve subscribed to your channel and I do think I’ll make my own version of a happy memories quilt. I love the idea of doing it just work on it and not so much making it as a piece to be finished and used.
Lovely video. ❤️The Elmhurst fabrics are perfect for “I Spy Quilt” for children. I have made one and had a great time making it. Low volume prints with such details is perfect!
Thank you Emma, you are very inspiring. I have chronic pain and I find sewing and crochet help to divert my focus from pain to de stressing and being upbeat and positive. I don’t know where I would be without my crafts.❤❤
Thank you Emma for the video. I loved seeing the Elmhurst fabrics. I have never heard of the company before, I am in the U.S. will be looking them up. You are so spot on with how relaxing sewing can be. Looking forward to watching your next video and the older ones I haven't seen yet. Have a great day.
HelloEmma. I have just this minute found your channel , it was so encouraging , i love Knitting ,Crosstitch and sewing on my machine i have made lots of scissors holders for friends & family , also table mat sets , and serviette holders i not experianced at all but really enjoy & find relaxing especially on very cold days like we are having now , Thank you xx Gill ❤😊
First time watching. Subscribed. I prefer hand sewing but will do curtains. Went back to your xmas pattern one. I have always made felt ornaments and some have lasted well over 40 years. This year made all my immediate neighbors in the cottages and staff at a senior housing complex to commemorate my 2nd year in my cottage. Also make felt ornaments, wreaths from felt for different seasons.
Lovely video Emma thank you. I've always enjoyed machine sewing, but only recently wanted to start hand sewing. I love hexagons and often crochet them. Having seen your quilt as you go ones in several videos I'm going to give those a try 😘
I started EPP because of your lovely videos. I'm about to finish my first EPP project and am planning to begin the Cherish quilt pattern from Tales of Cloth with Tilda fabrics in February. I cannot wait! :) Also, I love the fabrics from Elmhirst. They are unique and beautiful. I'm in the US, so shipping is prohibitive but I think I'll end up getting some special fabric from them in the year ahead. Thanks for sharing.
I think one of the reasons I have so many UFOs is because I pick such big projects and life gets in the way. Your suggestion to do small projects/time slots may be what I need. Thank you!
I’ve just ordered hexagon pre-cut cards and some fabric to try EPP I normally sew clothes but my sewing area is in the front room my husband has terminal lung cancer and sleeps a lot in the front room so i don’t want to disturb him. I need a hobby that I can sit quietly and do that stops my mind wandering to dark times ahead. I love watching your videos and love your projects
I hope EPP will help you get through those difficult times, so sorry to hear what you are going through, you and your husband are in my thoughts and prayers, take care 🌸
I came across this video today and Subscribed! I am not the greatest at sewing, but it is fun. I love the Elmhirst fabrics you featured and looked at their offerings online, and I told a friend!
Thank you so much! Really appreciate you watching and subscribing, hope you will enjoy my other videos. And thank you for checking Elmhirst Fabrics out and telling a friend, it all really helps 🌸
A lovely video, thank you Emma … Elmhirst is my favourite fabric supplier, Steph is so enthusiastic & has the most delightful range 😍 I made your Christmas wreath towards the end of last year & got the delightful fabric from your online shop 😍 … it turned out lovely x
Coucou Emma, ce que vous faites est magnifique, c'est très inspirant,, j'adore vos vidéo, elle me donne toujours plein d'envies. Bisous, bisous Ghislaine.
I love patchwork and as soon as a tutorial is labelled 'a quick quilt' I don't bother to watch. I want intricate patterns with little bits of fabric, in a project that will take me weeks or months. I love the process of piecing all the bits together. I don't enjoy the quilting as much but I'm getting better and do a lot of free motion. I want to do more embroidery and plan to add some to a crazy quilt soon. I love your tutorials and couldn't agree more that pushing your own creativeness aside is bad for you. I would feel very unfulfilled without my hobbies.
Hi Emma One of my goals for 2025 is to learn to sew. I am feeling overwhelmed on where to begin. Your quilt is so lovely but it looks so intimidating for me. I don’t even know the basics. Can you recommend any books for beginners please? Thanks for inspiring me. Hugs Gina
Hi Gina, if you wanted to start this quilt, check out this video th-cam.com/video/WPWFzuTMiLw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=WGIEZX0VF-bXxHYP I honestly think it’s a great one for beginners it’s really simple. A book I have is the Quilters Bible by Linda Clements, it’s very comprehensive tells you everything you need to know about quilting
Thank you. It’s from Thimbles for you, it’s solid silver but I think it’s so worth it because it’s jewellery but functional, I use it every day. It’s handmade and she makes them in so many sizes shapes and designs can’t recommend her enough
Hola Emma!!!!
I feel that I have lost my sewjo I love sewing I have loads of patterns and cross stitch but I can't get going. My partner has bought me a fantastic sewing machine and sewing lamp how can I get back into it ?????
I find looking through my fabrics, books and watching videos here inspires me to have a go again when I’ve lost my mojo. Spend some time making plans and go easy on yourself, it will come back if you don’t force it 🌸
Hi Marianne, I use both. I use the tana lawn the most as I have a lot of it and they produce many more prints in it but the quilting cottons are lovely too
It’s from Thimbles for you. Handmade and solid silver, I can’t recommend it enough, it’s beautiful but also so practical, I use it every day. She makes them in all sizes and so many pretty designs
Thank you for inspiring us and showing us your techniques which help us have more lovely sewing. I have been doing sewing of all kinds for almost 70 years and am still learning. Watching your videos and listening to you is definately good for MY mental health, dear.

I am a novice, making small gifts and things like lavender bags etc I really enjoy it and want to learn and do more!

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. These Elmhirst fabrics are so lovely. Unfortunately they don't ship to Germany. I'm sewing whenever I have the time. Just to get my mind free and relax. Its a beautiful hobby.
Thank you for watching. A lot of what they sell comes from Germany so you might be able to find them where you live 😊

Happy New Year Emma.
Since retiring have taken up sewing more seriously and started patchwork which I am totally enjoying x
Sounds like the best way to spend retirement 🌸 happy new year Anne

You're so right, Emma. Nit a day goes by now that I don't sew. It's so therapeutic.
I’m so glad you feel the benefits too Angela 🌸
Total beginner and INSTANT FOLLOW!
Thank you so so much!
I collect thimbles and would like to see the one you’re using up close. It looks beautiful
It really is, it’s a work of art. Will make a close up shorts video this week so you can see
I love patchwork and as soon as a tutorial is labelled 'a quick quilt' I don't bother to watch.
I’m exactly the same, love the details. Thanks ever so much for watching
Thanks for the great video.
Glad you liked it!
this video is lovely
Thank you!
Enjoyed your video ❤have subscribed 😊and will enjoy watching you while I do some stitching
Thank you so much for watching and subscribing! Really means a lot to me 💕
When i first saw EPP i thought people were mental but as i now do it i totally understand it is for welll being
Hello Emma, your happy memories quilt is just lovely, you mention Liberty, do you use Tana lawn or quilting cotton fabric on the reverse. ❤
Thank you Susan. It’s tana lawn on the back and it’s so soft!
❤ so true!!
Hi Emma
One of my goals for 2025 is to learn to sew.
@ thank you so much! Your work is so beautiful !
I love all your things. Where did you get that straw bag and did you embellish it yourself?
Thank you. I didn’t embellish it, it came like that, bought it from a shop in Keswick called the orchid house 😊🌸
Hello! 😊 im new to your channel. What video shows how to make the hexagon blocks? Thank you so much! Blessings 🌱🌷🪺
I love your thimble. Can you tell me where you bought it from please
Thank you. It’s from Thimbles for you, it’s solid silver but I think it’s so worth it because it’s jewellery but functional, I use it every day. It’s handmade and she makes them in so many sizes shapes and designs can’t recommend her enough
@ thank you
Hola Emma!!!!
@emmajonesvintagesewingbox Genial!!!! Muchas gracias!!!!!!
Where did you get that beautiful box?
I think it was from Hobbycraft
I feel that I have lost my sewjo I love sewing I have loads of patterns and cross stitch but I can't get going. My partner has bought me a fantastic sewing machine and sewing lamp how can I get back into it ?????
I find looking through my fabrics, books and watching videos here inspires me to have a go again when I’ve lost my mojo. Spend some time making plans and go easy on yourself, it will come back if you don’t force it 🌸
Hi there
When you work with liberty fabric…these are my favourites….do you use the tana lawn or the cotton?
Your work is wonderful
Marianne from NZ
Hi Marianne, I use both. I use the tana lawn the most as I have a lot of it and they produce many more prints in it but the quilting cottons are lovely too
Where did you purchase your thimble?
It’s from Thimbles for you. Handmade and solid silver, I can’t recommend it enough, it’s beautiful but also so practical, I use it every day. She makes them in all sizes and so many pretty designs
Sewing is more faster, than using in sewing in hand.
