You cannot run them in the winter. But I agree with his statement. MPS4s is an amazing tire that hooks like a m'f even in the rain! I've had them on my MK7 GTI for about 3-4 years. And am on my second set. They're about done so I will be purchasing a third set soon
this makes me confident cuz i just bought some. i do change tires to a winter set. wanted to ask, how many summer miles have you total on those tires at the moment and are they still great?
Man this dude knows EXACTLY what he's talking about. I have a 2018 C63s that had the Sport Cup 2's. Yes, they gripped but were absolutely dangerous in even slightly wet conditions. They also wore out very very fast. After that (and I do have the staggered setup) I went with these and it's a whole different level. Even more grip and I notice my traction control doesn't kick in nearly as much and I can launch it off the line better. Also, I've driven the car in real hard rain and didn't even notice any skittishness from the tires at all. Everything he said was spot on. These tires are worth every penny in my opinion and I've put them to the test on the C63s. I might even put them on the GT-R.
I'm trying to get new tires for my tune q50 redsport,I currently have hankook v12 v2s and they spin even at 45mph,I'm pushing 475 torque, would this help me fix that?
I bought a pair of Michelin PS4S for my Porsche Cayman a year ago. They've been great for me so far and I can use them year round since I'm in Texas! They're aren't cheap, but they weren't ludicrous either, especially compared to actual track slicks.
Wow. This guy knows his stuff. Front to back. Not in the market for tires much, nor much interest in them but....I'm still subscribing to this channel. Just bc of how impressive this video is. Great job. Thank you for helping me decide to get the 4S!
I run MPS4S on my 2001 BMW 740i Sport. These are truly God tires, driving in rain with these tires in a heavy car like the e38 that was really built for the Autobahn is an experience, the car and tires were just blowing past everyone like it was dry out. I live in ATX and most of the year when they warm up they are like glue but if it gets below 40 F they start acting weird.
I just got my brand new '22 Q60 RS 400 AWD today and the tires arrived 30 minutes later! (255/35ZR20 ) Going right over in the morning to have them put on! Can't wait to put them to the test!
Bought a set for my G12 M750ix , drives soo much better than Pzeros previously. Grip, handling, taking off line, is spot on. The beamer wants to keep going faster, even stepping off the pedal its gliding so slowly trying to slow down. The hot weather in FL, make the tires stick like glue to the asphalt. Highly recommend!
Recently got this for my 2020 BMW M340i and its a night and day difference when it came to ride quality and grip compared to the Bridgestone Turanza RF tires it had.
I take corners on exits on the highway with these on my Model 3 Performance. I can do 70-90mph on exit ramps without budging. The G force on these tires is scary because you hold up at high speeds without knowing it.
For anyone trying this tire for TRACK or Driver Education and are intermediate to expert, I did 4 (20 min session) on my first time with this tire. The traction was really good, last session, the outside left front which was getting most of the abuse that day delaminated the outside tread. Now that said, I think this might be partially my fault, outside temp. 85 started with 33psi in fronts, the tires went all the way to 47-48 psi when I got them hot on the track and I think with the pressure and how hard I was abusing they either failed because they were out of the operating ranges or it could of been defective. I check tread depth and I'm already half way through the tread life in one day. Grips good, tread life not so good. If your not tracking at all, was great tire for spirit driving and did do great in wet roads. I'm going to try out the Pilot Cup 2 next. Not planning on going at speed in the rain if I get caught in a small afternoon storm will just drive slow or pull over for a coffee.
Your pressures were too high! If you're doing track driving, normally the aim is to have somewhere in the region of 30-35 psi when HOT. 47-48 psi is failure territory under track conditions, but you should ask more knowledgeable track experts
245/40-19R front. 275/35-19R rear. 2005 E46 M3 with 9.5" and 11" wide wheels. Not as sticky as 100 treadwear street tires, but they last 4 times longer.
Fantastic breakdown on exactly WHY these tires are the best. I ended up buying these for my Porsche Cayenne GTS over the Pirelli P Zeros. Gonna finish out my last winter here in Colorado with the Pirelli Scorpion Winter tires then I’m moving to Florida and will be able to run these year-round rather than for just part of the year in Colorado.
Haha nice! How was the life on these tires? I’m getting these soon on mine as well. Had such a hard time between these and the all season version since I live in Houston and the weather here is crazy 😂
This is all I use on my Porsche Cayman GTS. Expensive, but well worth it. I get about 12,000 miles out of a set before the car needs new shoes. Live high in the Blue Ridge Mountains with plenty of winding roads..many twists and turns but oh so much fun!
Spot on review! What an incredible tire! I have these tires on both of my cars and one of those cars is a Honda Civic Type R. This is the tire that should have come with the car in the first place.
I just bought these for my Mercedes E53 AMG Coupe. I read a lot of reviews comparing these to the Pirelli’s and these came out miles better. I will keep you all posted on my own personal opinion on them.
Since I use these. I never go back to Pirelli. I drove with Pirelli P Zero 4 for just only 1 year and it was worn. I drive with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S for 2 years and the tires are still good
I went over 100 mph on a highway corner, these tires had so much grip but over time my speeding tore these tires apart. I didnt crash but when I looked at them recrntly, I was surprised I didnt get a blowout. Really good tires but you gotta take care of them and drive safe. Right now I'm running sentury UHP tires cuz I'm too broke for Michelin ps4 anymore
It definitely makes a difference compared to the lower end summer tires I had. I have the LSD so not sure how it would handle without the performance pack
Put the all season version on my 2013 Honda Accord EX-L V6. Transformative from the stock primacy tires. Made the car actually fun! I can imagine what these would have done for summer use.
Just had these installed on my '19 STi. Probably overkill since it's my daily and I don't track it, but I sure look forward to breaking these puppies in.
Just picked them up for a 2013 Maserati GT. They seem like a softer ride than the P Zeros they replaced in the rear but the grip on these might actually be better
I put these tires on my 2019 Nissan 370Z sport to replace the OEM Bridgestone Potenza S007 tires. My only complaint with the tire is that the sidewalls are much less stiff than the Bridgestone's sidewalls. This has resulted in a more comfortable ride with less harshness but the tire is less precise and more vague in its handling. I believe this tire is better suited for a GT touring type of car where comfort is important. For my car and for the kind of driving that I like to do, a more responsive tire is better. I had to increase my tire inflation pressure about 11 psi over what I used in the Bridgestones to compensate for the increased flexibility of the MPS4S tires.
You know. I have a 2018 370Z and I was looking to get the S007 but they no longer sell them. Tirerack has them as a special order and they told me it could take months before they even make them. I bought the Pilot Sport 4S. They just arrived yesterday and I will be installing them this week. I hope they give the same performance as the s007. I would’ve bought the same ones but the next best thing were the Michelin’s. Maybe they will get stickier with time regardless of the sidewalk.
@@uswee I'm running 44 psi in the front pair and 49 psi in the rear. I measure my tread depth every 1K miles and adjust the tire pressures accordingly to achieve even tread wear across the width of the tread. It took we quite awhile to zero in on these pressures, as I would nudge the pressures in 1 psi increments each time. Another side benefit is that the higher pressures suit my driving preferences, with a firmer and better controlled ride with the tradeoff of a little more ride harshness. I had previously installed a set of Hotchkis anti-roll bars on the front and rear to stiffen up the suspension a little more and improve turn-in response, again with the sacrifice of some more ride comfort.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I have only had the car since June of 2021. It had kw3 suspension when I got it. Plus the Michelins. I haven't had much of a chance to make adjustments but your input will definitely give me a starting point
I ended up finding this review because I do have a 21 911 (992 C4S) and I have been a Michilen fan for a decade now. Michilen does not make the PS4 in O.E. size 245/35/20 , 305/30/21. I am looking at going with the 255/35/20 , 315/30/21 PS4s. My dealership believes these will work in theory in replacing the O.E. Perillis but, have no direct experience in doing so. Are you aware of anyone running these PS4s in 255/35/20 , 315/30/21 on the new 911 (992) ?
This summer I will get my third set of these in 235/35/2019 for my beloved MK6 TDI...Amazing tires...I think I only get 20k miles (30k km) at max out of them though...The side walls can get some bublles if you hit a pothole VERY HARD...Last summer, we were on our way back from Toronto to Montreal and I hit an indentation on the interstate at 110-120 km/h and I thought the tire must have been seriously damaged, but, except a little buble on the sidewall, Nothing srious happened to it..The rim (VW Cadiz 19 made by Borbet in Germany) got a noticeable dent (Nothing major though)...That rim was refurbished, so it was not at it's maximum strength...If we can get 30k miles with thses tires like it's claimed by Michelin, they would be an excellent bang for the buck, but I am still happy with them...Now I have to fork out 1679.74 CAD$ to get a set compared to 1536.97 CAD$ in 2021 (a 9.3% incease in 2 years becuase of inflation!). There you have it folks from a real life & repetitive consumer!

great tire ... if you are not going on the track (Sport Cup 2) these are the best tires ... although the Continental tires are just as good and the all season Continental is a better tire than the all season Michelin..
I have a Kia forte and live in the Caribbean, the weather is hot, humid and wet. The road are a mess and I have to dive all day for work. Which tire do you recommend?
Toyos people loveeeee me two. Up to 750 hp there great and look good. My zl1 1le has r888r 345 rears they hook!!! And okay in the rain. A lot of people do MPs 4s front Toyos rear and they SWEAR BY IT if your not tracking the car it don’t matter
I have a question for owners of these tires. I have a 2020 Hyundai Elantra gt n line, I want these since I live in Tucson AZ and rarely does it ever go under 40-30F so I should be good in the winter, even better in the summer. Thing is I do a lot of Doordash. So does the tread go away fast? I drive around 150-200 miles a day in the city. Would you still recommend these tires or not? Not saying I’m smashing the pedal all the time but when I do I want to be ready haha. So please let me hear your thoughts and opinions or other tire recommendations etc.
@@CampusautoCo thanks for the recommendation I just saw your review on the continental and I like them too they can still handle my car’s performance when needed and also other reviews stated the tread last a while and I get all season tires if needed for traveling I’ll definitely look into some. Thank you again.
I brake boost my C63s off the line with them and traction control does kick in briefly but honestly they grip pretty well considering. I got 516ftlb of torque and they handle it. mostly.
I’m sad to say that these tires only lasted 11000 miles on my amg gt53. :(. To get thee same tires is costing me $1800 that’s just crazy that every 11,000 miles I have to spend $1800 dollars. Unfortunately they are staggered too. So I can’t rotate. Maybe cross rotate is all.
Would this be a good tire for both dry and rainy weather in a modded mk5 GLI (fwd) that is on lowering springs? I currently have Bridgestone potenza.. s001? (One of their sportier all season with softer compound) And those spin tires like nothing
Just bought a 2019 Porsche panamera 4S. It came with 265/44ZR19 and 295/40ZR19. The mileage on the car is around 38300km and the tires seem to need to be replaced. Is there any all weather version of them? I live in Toronto, Canada so I need something good for the winter.
Price doesnt matter, if it can help you brake 1 second earlier and you save your kids life or some pedestrians life then its paid its worth in gold

Maybe i drive wrong but i all but destroyed a set of these in a season in japan in a 3200lb AWD car. Bout 280hp. But it was absolutely worth it.
Just got these for my 2016 RS7 this is some real good info that I didn't know about thank you! Is 20 degrees the cut off anything above that is game?
I have a GTI performance, are these the best for me? I don’t race just for the road.
I would get the Continental Extreme Contact DWS06+
Would these be a good choice for a 2021 BMW G30 daily driver? Mostly city and weekly highway?
Have these on my civic type r they’re so good wet and dry
Awesome!
What can you do if you can’t rotate the front and rear tires? Can you swap the driver and passenger tire?
I don’t rotate in that case. You could do side to side but I don’t.
Keep it up Matt Great Review 👍
The Vermonter
Thanks!
Awesome video - thanks !
I have this tire on my G80 M3 and it’s a great tire.
How does this compare to the continental extreme contact . A little cheaper not sure the pilot sport is that much better ?
Good for a 22 Tesla Model 3 Performance?
Super review, as usual !
Thank you! Cheers!
great tire ... if you are not going on the track (Sport Cup 2) these are the best tires ... although the Continental tires are just as good and the all season Continental is a better tire than the all season Michelin..
great review, awesome tire, have a set and getting another!
Good choice!
Is it true that is a summer only tire. I thought they were all season tires? Thank you
@@EEEBA1 summer only for sure. These will get destroyed in the cold
@@crazysamz Ok. Thank you.
a true gem. saved my life from a deer too.
Awesome!
literally felt like I was on rails. Just pure reaction time and I saved it. Glad no one was around me and I was on a 2 lane highway @@CampusautoCo
which ones have the foam inner liner? Is there a way to tell when ordering?
Yes. If they have Acoustic Tech as a feature written in the description that is code for foam liner.
Correct! Thanks for answering.
Would you recommend this tires for a 2019 GTI or should I go for Michelin sport 4 all season??
It depends on where you live. I think that they might be overkill for a GTI.
@@CampusautoCosorry never saw this reply.. I’m in Miami
Would this affect the quality of comfort and silence in a 2016 ES350
Yes it would. It is too much tire for an ES350.
@@CampusautoCo thank you makes sense , do you have any touring wheels recommendations?
I have a Kia forte and live in the Caribbean, the weather is hot, humid and wet. The road are a mess and I have to dive all day for work. Which tire do you recommend?
so these can be used all year in Cali..? usually winter for me is in the mid 40s (some nights)
Yes
I’d like to see you review the Nitto NT555 G2
I want to ask a question to the users of PS4S. How is the grip when the tires are cold?
thinking about slapping these on my 6.4 v-8 charger.
Would you recommend these or continental dws06 plus for a 2018 Audi Q5 premium plus package so they are 20’s
How do you feel about the Michelin Defender?
Changed oem run flat to Michelin A/S3+ wow what a difference
Toyos people loveeeee me two. Up to 750 hp there great and look good. My zl1 1le has r888r 345 rears they hook!!! And okay in the rain. A lot of people do MPs 4s front Toyos rear and they SWEAR BY IT if your not tracking the car it don’t matter
is this a good choice for a summer only performance tire on a 2020 Murano Platinum Limited?
No. Look for another tire like a Michelin Primacy LTX or Defender LTX
This is too much tire for you. Try the Continental Extreme Contact DWS06+.
@@CampusautoCo thanks for the recommendation I just saw your review on the continental and I like them too they can still handle my car’s performance when needed and also other reviews stated the tread last a while and I get all season tires if needed for traveling I’ll definitely look into some. Thank you again.
opinion on Continental Extreme Contact Sports?
Stay tuned. I have a video review coming for that tire.
Brother will these hook in warm weather for depending on fuel 93 to 110 715 whp to 820 whp hook?
That is a good question. I think they will handle well in curves but struggle for grip off the line.
What are the best tires for my GLC 43 smooth riding
Thanks for the video. I have a question, do these grip really good when launching a car?
Yes they do especially when they are warmed up but its not really a drag tire.
I brake boost my C63s off the line with them and traction control does kick in briefly but honestly they grip pretty well considering. I got 516ftlb of torque and they handle it. mostly.
I have a 2021 widebody redeye hellcat charger
Bought some After market wheels , 20x11 in front and 20x13 rear
Can I do 315/35/20 and 345/30/20 PS4S’s?
I’m sad to say that these tires only lasted 11000 miles on my amg gt53. :(. To get thee same tires is costing me $1800 that’s just crazy that every 11,000 miles I have to spend $1800 dollars. Unfortunately they are staggered too. So I can’t rotate. Maybe cross rotate is all.
Does Michelin make a foam tire for my Porsche 911? 235 35 19s & 295 30 19s.
Would these work good on 2017 accord ?
Can i drive in these tires during the winter ?
It doesnt snow much where i live but if it does it dont stick for that long.
Would this be a good tire for both dry and rainy weather in a modded mk5 GLI (fwd) that is on lowering springs? I currently have Bridgestone potenza.. s001? (One of their sportier all season with softer compound) And those spin tires like nothing

Welcome aboard!
how do you get one with foam liner/noise reducer?
It's either these or the Nitto Nt5 g2s, most likely going go to with the Michelin I think it's worth the extra 200ish
