Ordered a new set of these three days ago!! my previous set lasted about 50k miles with routine rotations, i consider myself a "spirited driver" but these tires are amazing. even when at 3/32 the performance in dry weather is still %110.
Your technical descriptions of the UHP tires are great, and not many out there are doing that kind of depth in their videos - 5 Stars! Your video along with on track high speed reviews such as the Tyre Reviews channel are a must for anyone who needs and wants to buy ultra high performance tires. .
Had these on my '11 BMW M3. Loved them. Most people dont understand that you need to get these to temperature to use them for what they were made for. These arent for 3 mile grocery runs in the rain. These are a great choice with the Michelin Pilot Super Sports IMO.
i just installed these on my 18 mustang gt this morning (4-16-22) and they are replacing michelin pilot sport4s tires and so far they are extremely good. granted i had the michelins for 19k miles daily driven and they were phenomenal since day 1, i fully expect these tires to perform the same. at $314 a tire versus $370 for a new set of michelins, i am super pleased so far.
@@taigashenpai2434 i'll be honest i run full exhaust on my car so i dont actually hear the tires over the car itself but after 3 months the tires have really dialed in and after wet and dry days they are phenomenal. for what its worth the sound is about the same from the 2 tires eventhough i cant hear them lol
@@Willppyro yeah im sure they are in a size small. check again for a size 275/40zr19. $331 right now per tire. thats what size my car takes, congrats if you have smaller tires and they are cheaper for you, you certainly win there.
I had the Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 tires (which replaced the A/S 3+) on my Mustang GT (not the 350) for 20K miles and just had these Continental Extreme Contact DWS 6 Plus installed on the car and am truly impressed. I also changed the tire size to match the Ford Performance Racing School set up. 265/35/19 and 285/35/19 respectively. A game changer. I also had Tasca Ford install the MFR3A-8A track suspension package. I no longer fear chasing a Camaro or Corvette into a corner at speed. Supreme confidence ...
Great tire on my corvette, i would love to see a review for the Goodyear RS-A2 i have a 2021 Daytona charger and i like the Goodyears on them. Thanks and keep up the awesome reviews.
This are factory tires on my 17 A4 and want to replace, now 26k miles maybe will hold to 30k. Hard to choose another tire right now as don’t want to lose the feeling from the car. Pleased with the performance so probably will take another set
So in my experience with both the DWS 06 and the Sport, these tires flat spot like CRAZY. I'm talking, overnight. Changing pressures hardly helped and since trips in my car last less than 20 miles, they were almost always the least comfortable. I had two sets warrantied and even rebalanced them at my own shop to no avail. Road force balancing them didn't help.
I am always trying to learn more about tires and what each marking means, why are there different colors on each channel of treads? Orange, yellow, purple, yellow?
They are markings for the warehouse. They use a computerized locator system that use those marks to identify which tires need to be moved by automated pallet jacks.
Very informative video. I do own a C7 Corvette Z06 and its time for a new set of tires on the rear. I have Mechelin pilot sport AS 3 on them. They are decent tires, but they dont hook well in frist and second gear. Well, I know that you can hardly find any tire that can hook in the first gear for a Z06 due to its extreme power. I just want to know how well these tires can hook on first and second gear on my car. Thanks for the videio.
@@CampusautoCoI have a question does it matter if you install them with the outside in and the outside out the tire shop did that I don’t know if that’s going to be a problem let me know thanks
what would you say is the best quiet tires in wet? just bought a new car and it seems to have some cheap goodyears that are super loud. definitely all season but with a focus on wet traction
I watched one of your previous videos a few months ago about the other Continental tires. I’m trying to decide between the All Season Pure Contact, True Contact or All Season Extreme contact for my Tesla Model 3 RWD. The size is 245/40/19 and I live in AZ so wanted to see which you would go with?
Depends what you're looking for and how you drive honestly. If you want a nice comfortable daily and tires that LAST I'd go with the TrueContacts. The rest are up to you how sporty you want to go... I used to have the DWS 06 on my Miata they have a good sturdy sidewall and last a long time for the performance you get, I have the summers on now since I don't commute with it as often and mostly use it for spirited errand runs on my days off.
Put 27540r20 continental extreme sport On last July having to replace them on my scatpack less than a yr later 9k miles Of hwy and they need replacement going with the dws06 this round Love the tire but crazy how a 30k mile tire won’t last for than a couple months Love there warranties could potentially get a new set each yr
Curious question, what is someone supposed to do when one of the symbols wears out on the DWS logos, and not be able to use the tire for that category anymore?
I'm on the fence between these or Michelin pilot 4s which is the original tire on our mustang gt premium.. wanted the BFG GForce but they are not available due to supply issues.. I have never used continental tires so idk... want a safe tire for all types of situations yes some aggressive driving at times... what's your opinion continental extreme or Michelin pilot 4s for 2019 premium mustang gt 5.0 ? Also tires are staggered 255/40 zr 19 on front 275/40 zr 19 on rear
Kimberly, I have a 2020 Mustang GT PP1 Convertible and I just put these tires on. They are far better than the Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4. I also changed the sizes... I bought 265/35/19 and 285/35/19 respectively. The same sizes the Ford Performance Racing School uses on the Mustang GT's with the Track Suspension package .... I would add both and you will find it's life changing.
the "D" marking is dumb. unless it's showing thread, the balder the tire, the better the dry traction. Maybe the D goes damn near down to the threads, but it doesn't look like it. these tires are on closeout in my size for my Z06 corvette for literally half the price of the Toyo R888Rs I normally buy so I'm trying to find a review, but it sounds like these, while possible decent on the track, are pretty bad for straight line acceleration
Good for rats, extreme, control, custom, sport, contact, confusion, cruelty, curiosity, ignorance, caution, ceding, cigar-shaped FS, common after-all, summer B-, concerned non-roll-over, needed more BS, with English or Oky-lyrics .
Just put these on my NSX. So far I love them. Best tire I’ve used so far.

I'm putting these on my 2013 BMW X1 extremecontact dws06 plus, these appear to be insane!!! I cannot wait to see how well they perform
These and the sport 02's have stiffer sidewalls than the DWS06 plus, right?

I swapped to Michelin PS4S and rebalance them every other month the flat spots work out within the first 5 min of driving at speed

Does the Extreme Contact 02 replace the SportContact 7. If not, does anyone know the difference?
The Extreme Contact Sport 02 replaced the tire shown in this video. It's overall a better tire.
They are both UHP summer tyres, if not mistaken the SC7 do come as OE factory fit on many cars, whereas the Extreme Contacts are not an OE tyre

Is this the track equivalent of the Michelin Sport Cup 2? Or does Continental make a better tire that is equal to the Cup 2? I have a 2020 GT350
No this is equivalent of the pilot sport 4s. The extreme contact force would compare to the cups
I had the older version of these tires on my civic. I really liked them. But my Firestone Firehawk Indy 500s outperforms them by leaps and bounds.
