Excellent review. I’ve always been a big fan of handheld gaming - a PSP, a Vita, a 3DSXL, 2 Switches, a Retroid Pocket 3+, an Analogue Pocket, a Steam Deck, an Ally and an Ally X. As someone with 2 kids who has to juggle multiple responsibilities, the ability to game on the go is a must for me. While I didn’t go for the Legion Go, my current favorite is the ROG Ally X - the larger battery is a huge win in my book and the extra 8GB of RAM that can be dedicated to VRAM is icing on the cake.
Awesome! I need to get my hands on a Ally X. Looks like a great handheld. I'm also looking into a Retroid Pocket 4 pro right now... It's a great time for handhelds!

Thank you! The Ally definitely has that over the GO. I still don't understand how Lenovo left that out of the finished product. But at the end of the day the versatility and screen size was a huge factor for me. Both great devices
Agreed its an Ally plus as is their software. In the end my older eyes love the bigger screen too much to give up. The ability to pop out the kickstand and detach controllers is a use case I frequently use. The touchpad and dual USB-C ports are lesser features that pushed me to choose the GO over the Ally. I suppose it all comes down to the user and use case.
VRR is overrated. Extremely. I have The Ally and the LeGo and there's zero difference for me. Especially For FPS-fluctuating games. Just change your in-game settings for a fluid FPS experience and slap on FSR or Lossless Scaling and you're go to Go. Legion Go, that is, because that larger screen knocks the Ally's out of the park.
I am using a dedicated power bank for each one of my portable devices I carry with me. I travel and move often as I work online and do not tend to stick around too much at one city or county. Vr headset has it own attached to with valcro, so is switch, phone/smart watch/3dsXL share another one. Battery life of the device is not something I worry much about when I am in the market shopping for any kind of portable device I focus on comparing their performance and other quality of life attributes like screen size and quality, ergonomics in your example if I were to chose a hand held gaming pc as I’m looking for one atm. Legion go seems like the one for me over the competition cause from the n. Switch I have I believe 7” is just way too small of a screen size for me personally I always find myself going for the docked mode.
For some yes. I enjoy the bigger screen on the legion go and the ability to detach the controllers and the kick stand separates it from the pack The Ally X is a beast though. Looks like a great handheld
My 3080 laptop is much better than your legion go, monitor, keyboard, mouse, game controller. My laptop can play anything anywhere. My steam deck works great for anytime I can't use my laptop, which is rare. I work and live in hotels. Almost never home, but I wouldn't want to use a legion go as a fake awful laptop.

Was that an s2K seat?
@@dekunutsocarina I'm not sure what a s2k seat is
@@DuffManGamingI’m assuming OP means Honda s2000 seat
Good video, but it lacks VRR if I’m honest, which makes the ally superior for game smoothness over the Go
What's Vrr
@@Exodia_Misogynist variable refresh rate
VRR is overrated. Extremely. I have The Ally and the LeGo and there's zero difference for me. Especially For FPS-fluctuating games. Just change your in-game settings for a fluid FPS experience and slap on FSR or Lossless Scaling and you're go to Go. Legion Go, that is, because that larger screen knocks the Ally's out of the park.
I highly recommend getting a 100 watt 25000 mah power bank
If not a 140 watt 30000 mah one then you get a truely mobile gaming rig
Great tip! I didn't think about looking into a portable power bank
Roy ally x is better?
For some yes. I enjoy the bigger screen on the legion go and the ability to detach the controllers and the kick stand separates it from the pack
The Ally X is a beast though. Looks like a great handheld
No
I like LeGo as switch on my TV.
If you're OK with spending a little extra money get the ally X. It's awesome.
Smaller screen and only 5 to 7 more frames and £200 more... Na bro
GeoforceNow sounds useful
Defiantly. I'll have to check it out!
@@sheldonisnumberone lol thanks for your input? I have a 3070 ti laptop as well and I love gaming on it. I go back and forth between my Legion Go and my laptop. Just depends on what I'm in the mood for. The "fake awful laptop" is for those out there who can't afford a 2k gaming laptop. It's about practicality. Your comment just came off super distasteful. But nice flex I guess?
Dood if your hands FALL ASLEEP while playing with the Legion Go, you need to see a damn doctor. It's. Not. That. Heavy.
@@Jason_P mmm plenty of people have had similar experiences. It's the heaviest handheld on the market. If you watched my video then you'd know I stated that I have big hands and the size doesn't really bother me. It just occasionally causes my hands to fall asleep. Again plenty of reviewers have stated similar concerns to the device being awkward and causing fatigue in people's hands. It's still a great handheld. But I'm a healthy dude so thanks for the concern?
Anyway the Go is such a great device. Despite some of its flaws
It can cause fatigue.
The best device is PlayStation dual sense controller. It’s so ergonomic.
