Thanks!!!
Big Mama's version is my favourite as is her version of her own 'Ball and Chain'.
Some days I hate the IOS autocorrect.
😮Amazing
Big mama thornton
@benbop1965 -
THE essential version of Hound Dog is the original cut by Big Momma Thornton - which is so good that it birthed multiple imitators. Elvis liked her version so much that he cut his own, and the rest is history.
what a voice for a 11 year old. Amazing!
Yep -- there's a reason she's known as "Little Miss Dynamite'! 🧨💥
Breand started singing at 7. She was helping support her family after her father left. Her third grade teacher knowing her late nights singing allowed her to lay her head down on her desk and sleep.
Her father died when she was 8…
Breand 💀💀💀
Back in the day when it wasn't a disgrace for children to help their parents or families!!
@@user-jk2hb5qq8rIs it now?? Since when??
@@treubaking Hell, when I was in high school I got a job and helped out at home.
Such a talented woman! Even as a child, she was fantastic!
Fantastic? LOL
Brenda and the other little girl look and sound like pint sized adults! How precious to see this!
She developed into a pint sized adult in real life as she's only 4 ft 9in Lol
@@chairlesnicol672 But what a big voice
Yeah, grotesque isn’t it?☹️
How special that these recordings are still available!!!
Brenda Lee has always been a rock-a-billy star. Love her stuff.
I'm about Brenda's same age and this is the first time I've heard her sing Hound Dog.
Brenda was an amazing talent. She must be 79 now. I hope she is healthy and happy.
Yes, 79. I ran into her a couple years ago, at a McDonald's. I was leaving, and she was sitting in a yellow Cadillac in front of the store, when I noticed her, and said 'Brenda Lee'!! She just says yes, then I ask her to sing "I'm Sorry" and she just tears right into it. Completely floored me! Ran into George ' Goober' Lindsey, asked him to do a quick Cary Grant, insulted me like a real a..hole. Never liked his sh.t anyway, he was a moron doctor on M*A*S*H, a moron on Andy Griffith, MORON on Hee Haw. As for George Lindsey or is it Lindsay, too bad
And a very cool little old lady, SING IT BABY!
Wow. Nice tune. Got some swing, some blues, some jazz, some rock. I always love Brenda Lee.
Great Brenda Lee, just seeing you in 1956 I can see my self. I am also born in the same year. We were child in diffente country. Today 22th December 2023
Brenda Lee *is* coming on strong!
With her Radar Love?
Blast from the past, Brenda Lee was so cute.
Thumbs Carlisle on guitar solo!
She is still that little powerhouse of a singer.
What a cutie Miss Brenda was...great singing, too 👏🏼
Brenda's a tremendous talent
How cute little Ms Brenda❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊
What a voice.
Such a talented lady! Thank you Ms Lee! ❤
Brenda was one of the four artists who charted the most singles, behind Elvis Presley, the Beatles and Ray Charles.
Taylor Swift now.
@@warrenbates2949With 8 billion people on earth.
In 1956 2.6 billion.
And Brenda has more talent and has a hell of a lot better sounding and more unique voice than whiney sounding Taylor Swift. Taylor Swift's music has no soul nor any depth to it. It is pure pop slag and in my opinion is mediocre at best.

@@Mr1963corvette Gee mate, don't hold back....why don't you say what you really mean....LOL
I'm surprised...that was brilliant
Great style, even at that age!!
Awesome talent . You keep rockin ‘ it Brenda . ❤
Absolute Gold 🪙
Her voice never changed I remember as a little boy, it stayed the same and the style did too, even when she was older.
Ohh random video, but that little girl is a sweetheart and she sings amazing

Неперевершено! Я зачарована Брендою і її талантом!❤❤❤
MAKES ME SMILE BIG SMILE THE OLD DAYS WERE GREAT!!!
such a strong voice from someone so young
One of the greatest. Lot of kids put in that kind of sadness
貴重な動画をありがとうございます。ブレンダリーは天才歌手です。まさにミスダイナマイト
Thank you Ben, very good Little Brenda 👍
This was a nice version. Be sure to check out this song by the woman who recorded it first in 1952... Willie Mae Thornton aka Big Mama Thornton. Her voice was awesome and the beat on that version will get you moving. 👍
Oh that’s cute video. She is a great singer very young at that age. Wow what a voice.
My dear lady .swinging sharp chords.just great
Thank god we have so much preserved of early tv and video. Much is lost but a surprising amount has survived.
Brenda + Elvis = PURE DYNAMITE 💣
Jorge: there is no Elvis here ... what you on about ❓ Elvis only sang the song, he didn't write it 😮

She still sounds like this today
I think she recorded rockin around The Christmas tree at 13 and it still played today
Great voice she got a voice of women
That’s because she’s a woman…duh
Eternally wonderful!👍👏
WOW. So cute...so much poise. I can see why she became a star.
Maravillosa increíble magnífica una niña súper dotada, saludos cordiales desde Caracas Venezuela 🇻🇪❤️🙏❤️🎁😇
She has got a great voice ,her very own,I just love all her songs !❤️🎼❤️🎼❤️🎼❤️
Same feeling you get when you see young Judy Garland or Michael Jackson. Gifted beyond their years.
If you’re impressed by this, play the Collins Kids and hear Larry shred 50’s rock and roll guitar and dance at same time while sexy Laurie plays rhythm and sings. They do Johnny B Goode, Ramrod, and others.
Except that she wasn’t afflicted, like Judy and Michael were.
@@davidhull1481 MJ’s body dysmorphia was at the level of a full-blown psychosis. Lots of circumstantial evidence pointing to pedophilia, as well as some other really weird behavior, which for some reason now, is too-graciously overlooked by current society.
Judy Garland was a mere alcoholic and barbiturate user-mundane, by comparison.
I remember I used to love singing this when I was a little girl.
Wonderfull. I love this Song. Long live Rock n Roll
She still lived in the same house she grew up in Nashville. I've seen it. 😊
So cute and wholesome! I love it!
She developed her style so early on.
She is still life in this year (79 years old)
Clips of Brenda Lee when she was little used to be played very early in the broadcast day of WNCT-TV in Greenville, NC in the late 50s-early 60s.
Hello from Sweden 🇸🇪
Greetings from Belgium ! 🇧🇪 😉
Incredible voice and a class act.
Holy cow, that’s Thumbs Carlisle, Roger Miller’s sidekick on guitar!
I haven't come across this one before; I definitely approve.
-Big Mama Thornton did it 1st, Elvis 2nd, some others here & there, ,,, but Brenda's version to me is tied with Elvis' as the cooolest rockin' versions!!!
She's adorable.
Amazing 🤩
Can you imagine being that talented!❤
Brenda lee a true pioneer, singing this song BEFORE Elvis did ... good choice of a song.
Elvis Presley recorded it on July 2, 1956. 😉
@@benbop1965 i have tried to find that source where i got that but after a couple hours i can only find she appeared onJunior Ozark Jubilee and sang the song, hound dog in 1956, august i do believe. BUT i did find out that Little Esther did record hound dog in 1953, Recorded: March 11, 1953; Released: April 1953 along with 9 other people/groups before elvis.
@@mike2008albertaOriginally written for Big Mama Thornton by Lieber and Stoller.

Very very good.
You got talent little sister.
What a amazing voice.
At an early Brenda Lee concert in Germany, the Beatles opened for her.
They opened for a lot of American acts back then. Chris Montez of “Lets Dance” fame for example. A decade later everything had changed.
I remember seeing this way back then.
love ms Lee
Adorable and a voice!🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
⁰ one of her nicknames "Little Miss Dynamite".
What a great voice
The Elvis version is still the best ever. It's the superior version.. With great guitar solos and Elvis" great rock voice..
Elvis did a pretty good version/ cover of Big Mama Thornton's awesome original recording.
What a talent. I miss her.
She ain't gone.
She was GOOD!
I WAS ABOUT 12 when i saw her at manitou beach mi pavilion. had a HUGE voice.
Go Brenda Go.....💜💜💜
I live in Springfield MO where she sang that tune.

TV has sure come a long way……….in 68 years!
Poor little baby. Awesome talent. Her dad should have been so ashamed that this lil darling had to support the family.

Fantastic!
Mama Thornton's version of this will always be my favorite but let's always remember Lieber and stoller wrote this song.
