Sigma Male vs Omega Male The Lone Wolf vs The Omega

  • Sigma and Omega males are on opposite ends of the social dominance hierarchy, so people may assume that their personalities also oppose each other. Whilst there are some differences between the two, there are also many similarities. Sigma and Omega males share more traits than you would think, especially with how far apart they are on the hierarchy.
Both Sigma and Omega males are essentially personality types in the socio-sexual hierarchy, which ranks men from least socially dominant to most socially dominant. Sigma males are placed at the top alongside Alpha males, while Omega males are at the bottom of the hierarchy. None of the social dominance archetypes should be seen as bad despite the ranking system, so don’t worry too much about where you place. We’re just here to talk about two different archetypes and how they compare with one another.
There are a few different interpretations of what a Sigma or Omega male is like, but overall - Sigma males are seen as lone wolves with a mysterious air, whilst Omegas are seen as quirky and introverted. Both can be hard to understand - Sigmas have a complex nature and don’t often share their thoughts, whereas Omegas usually adopt interests that are more niche so it can be difficult to relate to them.

After watching this, I'm still not really sure which one I am. They both describe how I prefer to live my life and pursue my endeavors, but still not really sure which one I am regarding relationships. I'm married but I married a little later in life than most of my peers, when I eventually found the right woman. Both types fit my personality and the one thing I'm certain of is, I definitely don't like being center of attention and I don't like following other people.

The difference I think is Sigma can challenge Alpha 1 on 1 while Omega is self decisive and just leave without challenging Alpha. Both not challenge for the leadership but Sigma is just for the skill of it for own development.

The simplest way to explain differences in a tangible way would be to see if you can find a Sigma male that is also a good therapist/counselor. It is a difficult trait and skill for a Sigma to be a counselor. I say this because it isn't in their nature to be overly compassionate or caring, but if it is their "job" could they? It isn't about better or worse, but adaptable skills and a good and simple tool in the real world to spot the difference. The being a lone wolf thing is overestimated, imo, because survival is a symbiotic thing where you have to rely on others, when needed to survive. The issue becomes when either a Sigma or Omega become overreliant on that. It is a good check to remember that. A simple example would be having to use both your hands for a task but also needing a light. The proper thing to do would be to either acknowledge this before hand and prepare a setup in advance or to ask for help. Both are good skills to have depending on what you need. I personally have found that being too stubborn and only relying on your own internal thoughts is not always wise, or safe, and sometimes will get you killed. Look at the Oceagate sub creator that thought his carbon fiber shell was superior to titanium and reinforced skill. That way of thinking is a flaw, but is often talked about as a trait so many think is a highlight and a coveted skill. It CAN be, but it can also be fatal. Train yourself to know the difference and accept you don't know everything. It's a self-actualization of a limitation you can improve on. That isn't a bad thing because you aren't God. You often hear the quote about it being better to be a warrior in a garden, than a gardner in a war. The truth is to to ask the question of what makes the person thinks your are in a garden to begin with? The world, people and nature is constantly trying to kill you, and people and organizations actually actively try to do this daily. It's stupid and silly to view it any other way. It is why trust and character judgement is maybe the best skill anyone can develop. I'm not sure where that puts me, but I don't care honestly. Lead when needed, follow when needed, adapt when needed and pay attention. I could care less how that makes me appear to anyone. If you could be content (not necessarily happy), but content being the only person alive, could you live with that? I could, but it is stupid to think it wouldn't get lonely.

    • @relentlessman
      @relentlessman  ปีที่แล้ว +5

Many sigma guys do remain alone and single. Don't let these definitions hinder you though. They aren't rules set in stone.
You can view finding "The One" as an annoying task or you can view it as an exciting challenge. You're right that you will be disappointed a lot when trying to find a good girl. That means you have high standards. That's a good thing!
Take a look at your lifestyle as a neutral outside observer might see it. What could you do differently to meet more potentially great girls and find one that would be a great match for you? Then decide if you are willing to make that change.

In my definition a sigma is seldom lonely and does not dismiss people. I think a sigma accepts everybody but needs nobody. A romantic relationship will only last as long as the sigma’s partner continues to fancy him. When she doesn’t he will walk away but not unkindly. She will get a good settlement and he will retain loving memories.

It is my assesment that I am perfectly where I am alone or not. I dont trust anybody, and I wont let my emotions fusterate me. What I feel and whats real is a skill as we age. So a man thinks so he is, if I say am lonely then I project that sentiment. But I rebel, I tell myself the truth, am sexy as they come, am healthy, wealthy, and wise. Am funny, and tell yourself who you are and you will be that much closer to being that within the truth of it, no ego.

I agree, I feel more sigma than omega, although I don't really care. I'm usually quite polite with other people, most of all if I see they're in trouble, but I don't feel the need to be supportive, I just need to see myself able to support. And I think this selfish trait is what distinguish sigmas from omegas.
I don't feel the need to be in a relationship but I feel the need to see myself able to have one. Still the same trait.
But I also feel the need to be self sufficient alone whilst still able to exit my comfort zone and acting the exact opposite by breaking my own rules every time I need to confirm them.
A very wise man once told that any way that has an heart could be tested as many times as you want and it will still be having an heart. This is the main reason I break my own rules still considering them rules.
Some videos about sigmas make them seem to hate other people, I don't hate anybody, I just prefer to be with myself but I'm able to give love and compassion, eventually keeping them for who I think they're deserved.
Sometimes I end up thinking the best way for a sigma could be a polyamory where little things are compensated by being supported by more than just one person in a life.

People do not talk about this, but the social heirarchy is also dependent on your physical appearance. If you're short, unless you're that very rare exception like Wolverine in the X-Men comics who is a Sigma, you're going to be an Omega male, through no choice of your own. And society is going to treat you as such, to where you will have no choice but to develop Omega male traits.

Maybe in my middle age I'm definitely a Sigma; but with Omega tendencies.
In my life, I've actually turned down more relationships than I've kept. There's just so many interesting people in the world. If I ever deemed my mate too "complicated" I moved on.
My current relationship has been steady for 30 years now. We're still content with each other. There have been flings on my end, but not in the last 20 years. We're still not married either civilly, nor by the church. I always figured that if we ever were, we'd file for a divorce the next day.
BTW, Alphas annoy the Hell outta me. If they'd stay in their lanes, I'd be ok with them...but they're alphoids and will always be, "habitual line-stepper's" as Charlie Murphy[RIP] once said, describing Rick James[RIP] (another annoying alphoid). Makes me feel, "warm inside" to put an alphoid in his place (outta mine). Other than that, everyone else can do what they want as long as it doesn't cramp my thing.

Sigmas dont jump around hobbies looking for excitement, they dig in and unravel the truth they are about depth, they want to know how something works with an insatiable thirst for knowledge about whatever interests them, they have an inbuilt sense of fairness and truth, integrity is huge to them, they see things others can't see and can read people in a glance, they never hate because they understand fully without bias and can forgive because they know why somebody hurt them seeing the flaw in character, they don't hold grudges they learn the lesson and leave forever, they set life goals and will never give in no matter what is thrown at them, the mental determination in sigmas is unbreakable, they feel rock steady godlike in an isolated way, in no way is it arrogance though its often perceived that is, they hold an internal belief and connection to the universe they can see and analyze things like a sixth sense, all archetypes have similarities it is the god-given unique traits that decide what we are on the ground floor of being.

    Their main differences are two:
    a) Sigma males can be leaders when it's necessary. Omegas can never lead.
