Your videos are very insightful and mostly describe me to a tee. Thanks! I do have one remark though and this is something I've consistently noticed throughout your Sigma videos: the notion that Sigma's should necessarily be an introverted personality type is wrong. I am een extroverted personality type (an MBTI ENTP type to be more specific) and very good with people, groups of people, expanding on and expression in groups, reading people and their emotions (Extroverted Intuition or Ne, combined with Extroverted Feeling or Fe).
Yet I am a strong introverted thinker at the same time. I am a strong rational that works out concepts and ideas by taking in huge amounts information, filtering facts and processing inside (the Ti or Introverted Thinking function).
The ENTPs are said to be the most introverted of the extroverts by the way: unlike other extroverts developed ENTPs enjoy but do not need people due to our rich inner minds. But I'm an extrovert none the less. Alle other Sigma characteristics named apply.

If I may suggest, you should have asked all the questions first before pausing and then giving the answers.
Because you gave the answers right after asking the questions without giving me a second or two to think about my answer, you skewed my answers and I'm not sure what my result is.
But I actually think I'm more of an Omega: the nerd/geek.

    Now I understand why:
    1 - I became lone thinker.
    2 - I'm a methodologist and meticulous.
3 - I don't like trash media, talk about sports, competitions or any type of championships.
4 - I always put people's interest before my own.
5 - I work hard and almost never ask for help, nor take the easy way out or take any shortcuts.
    6 - Why I'm obsessed with perfection.
7 - I offer help, provide solutions, event if I'm not being asked to.
    8 - I can't just be friends with anybody.
9 - Always reflect on my mistakes, bad or misleading behavior.

A sigma's ego is sustained mostly from within, and is probably the most sturdy of all personality types. Until they screw something up.

The part about not being yourself around strangers really hit me. I worked at a place for five years and out of all my co-workers, only a handful were close friends. I was very quiet and kept to myself while working, so among those I was not close with, I was perceived as being mean or strange because I didn't interact with them. When any of my friends heard things like this from them, they would be like, what are you talking about, he's the nicest guy!

problem is most like the sound of it some of it sounds cool
but like everything in life comes balance some things can be a blessing but Also a curse
after shouting out for years about what is currently going on not sure people want the kind of awareness the mindset brings
like the assumption they are social planners this could not be further from truth a total contradiction from being a lone wolf
not nice knowing you have to pretend to be a social person when mostly those around can not even handle a real convo
abusing their minds and turning the world in to a moral less cess pit

I always thought I was a "lone wolf" because I always had my own way of doing things. I thought everything out very thoroughly. I learned that there are many ways to do something and I chose the best way. I've always been a very efficient worker and tried to be the best friend anyone could ask for. I would help my friends with problems. I always tried to be as honest as possible, even if it upset the people I was dealing with. I can't lie to hide the truth. Lies always backfire. The truth may hurt, but lies destroy. I was guided by my dad. He ingrained things into my way of thinking that just can't be changed. Think, learn, and lead! I'm not good at following. I make my own way. Love me or hate me. I don't really care. I am me and happy to be me!

I really just wanted a good excuse to confess that your comment reminded me of a satirical question answered by very distinctly different individuals- that I like to share in order to make my point.
The first guy answered the question with a resounding yes.
The second guy responded with an indefinite no.
And the third guy admitted that he just wouldn't know for sure.
One of the guys was a pimp; the other guy was a wimp; and the last guy was a simp.
      The question was:
      "Is pimping easy?"
Guess the gall of the guy who can honestly indicate that pimping is as easy as he claimed it to be.
My point is that there's no real need to discern which one of the other two guys it was that inadvertently contributed to the fallacies of his narrative because I am more interested in making pimping even easier than I am in wondering why pimping is so much hard work for others.

You know you are a sigma when you have good relationship with alphas, guide them, teach them, lead them and inspire them. When I was a teenager I thought I was the alpha but I was full of insecurities and anxiety, now past 40 I help such guys a lot:).

Haha, I know what you mean. I work with a number of alphas, they think I'm someone they can rely on and most other people are beneath them. I DESPISE alphas, I have never met a good one yet. I toy with them. Male alphas tread carefully around me. Female alphas immediately want to be my friend. It's weird.

    • @ToxiicZombee
      @ToxiicZombee ปีที่แล้ว +2

The only reason sigmas don't get first place as often is because we let the alpha win. It's not even because we are intimidated or give up either. When we let the alpha win we do it because we know how important it is for them. And we know it's not that important to us. Plus we get to possibly make a strong ally. Also when we let them win we only do so if we can do it in way that makes it clear to the alpha that we let them win, but nobody else can know. The alpha knows that we are the ones in charge and we are just letting them be at the top, and when they truly need help the only person they can come to is us. At the end of the day everyone else answers to the alpha but the alpha answer to the sigma.

I do fit all of these categories except that planning deeply doesn't apply to all things. It only applies to things that are important, useful, or educational. In the example of a party or hangout with friends, I prefer other's make the plans. That's because I'm happier in an environment where others are enjoying themselves. I enjoy alone time most, but if others are involved, then I needn't "bore" them with my deeper interests. I do have most of my life planned out, at least the most important parts, but I very much welcome random events and challenges that I haven't planned for as it is a means for growth. I'm not sure where that places me in this male labeling system, but frankly I don't care. Such a label is confining and of little use to anyone.

    • @mattpotter8725
      @mattpotter8725 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

I think this applies to me as well. Everything matches exactly me apart from the planning part. I plan, but for trivial things like socializing I'm happy to plan on the go. I won't blindly follow, so maybe this is just shifting where and when the planning takes place and it involves communication with others, but I don't have to always be in control as long as I'm happy with the decisions or plan put in place as long as I'm happy with it. This part of the description of sigma males suggests they are controlling, even control freaks, and want everything planned out in advance or their way, when this isn't true for me, new experiences are important to me as well, sometimes it's good to get out of your comfort zone, though never too much!!!

I find that "planning" is subjective. The need to take the reigns regarding what will be done imo is determined by what is the subject. Because Sigma's are more introverts, we dont tend to "take the reigns" to partake in something not optimal to his interests. But if its about investments, business, or learning new skills to further enhance him, he'll DEFINITELY take the reigns there.

I have to agree. Overtly planning something makes me nuts but I always have the next several steps of anything already in mind. Plans make people too rigid and unable to adapt when things go sideways. Having a loose outline gives you a script to follow that can be adjusted on the fly.

    • @dinos9607
      @dinos9607 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

If you think you don't fit in the alpha or beta groups, that means you are a beta. The sigma category is for the most a coping mechanism. The only meaningful categorisation is the Alpha-Beta continuum. These are not two monolithic categories but rather a continuum and one that is defined environmentally. I.e. if you select a 100 alphas and place them on a deserted island and then a 100 Betas on another island, very soon you will have in each island 10 Alphas and 90 Betas. What we mean by "Alpha" is the natural (more rarely learned) inclination to dominate the surrounding social environment. Being an Alpha means that in comparison to all your social entourage you are on the top-5%/10% of men who have the tedency to dominate their social environment, be it in the family, at workplace, out at large. This definition is not linked to the number of women you have slept even if in practice Alpha-males are some of the most attractive men to women and thus naturally gather up the female attention and increase their notch numbers, that is if they select to do so (e.g. there are Alphas who are religious and who stick to one wife etc.). In fact, some of the most prolific lovers are Beta-males (usually of the higher-Beta level), not Alpha-males precisely because Alpha-males are often consumed at strenuous leadership duties while higher-Betas may as well concentrate more on entertaining females and thus surpassing many of the Alphas in that sense.
But Sigma male? Oh... the introvert brooding uncompromising man... who in reality is a mid to lower level Beta, fearful of Alphas and hateful of higher-Betas. A Sigma male, if we need to have this category, is nothing more than a better looking Gamma. Gamma males are them too, like Sigma, a sub-category of Betas, they are the ones who are mid to lower ranking Betas but who detest their position and hate both Alphas and Betas and try to subvert them. Think of your typical leftie/commie type. They also hate women (while proclaiming their respect them) and have some ultra-dirty sexual kinks. Gammas are particularly unattractive to women thus their need to subvert and, hopefully, get a social position which they will use to sleep with women in a quite coercive manner. Sigmas are very much like the Gammas but being physically more attractive than Gammas they need not hate women, yet they still fear and hate Alphas and higher Betas. They are though not a male category of value, they usually are bad friends, double-faced as much as Gammas. It is just they lack the complexes of Gammas and their kinks.

@@jcivilis533 Don't take it personally but you talk like a woman. Women usually come back with such answers. I know you did it involuntarily, I just note down what is what so you are more conscious of such in the future. Men, were the analytical part of humanity, not the instictual one. We care about observing, monitoring, measuring and explaining the environment around us. Women do not care to do so, they prefer to go on an instinctual level and that means they are perceiving the world not via logic but by how each stimulous makes them feel. That is exactly what you did above, I guess again, involuntarily.
The issue we talk here falls under several fields of study such as sociology, anthropology, psychology and even biology. I am coming more from an anthropological background being a lover of history - these two are heavily interconnected so, yes, I find it an interesting issue.
If you ever think that these do not apply in real life you are sorrily mistaken. How many times have you seen companies to which you apply asking for "'leadership skills"? Do you know what that is? It is a by-word for "seeking for an alpha type of guy, beta-losers no need to apply". There are companies who will take it a step further and put candidates to the test to figure out who is the alpha. On the contrary, there are other companies who actively seek beta guys. The first ones are mostly in the traditional industries the latter are the Silicon Valley type ones.
These things are real and have real life applications. Foremost, the understanding that these A-B categories, while having a biological basis, they are not strict categories but rather a behavioral continuum and each man can move himself along the axis to a considerable degree, one which would not be expected even by him let alone by others in the first place. Now if the whole issue does not interest you, why would you be here in the first place? Or is there something in it that bothers you? I know many males that fall in the Gamma subcategory of Betas which highly resent any talk on these anthropological descriptions... for good reasons not dissimilar to how a promiscuous woman would avoid like hell any talk on female promiscuity. What does not shed a positive light on oneself is something that many men and most women want to dismiss.

In high school I was frustrated/perplexed because people would sometimes ask if I was a leader or a follower. My answer was yes...and no...to both.
I thought it was weird that I was a leader and a follower at the same time but also was really neither as well. I felt like a square peg that was being asked to fit into a category but none of the categories really fit me.
I just did my own thing because I knew it was the right thing to do. I didn't need a boss telling me what to do and I didn't need to be the one in charge, either.
Now, I just try and do the best job I can. If I'm in a leadership I try to do right by my people and if I'm under a boss I still try to do right by them, but I still prefer to do my own thing.

I get you didn't have a better answer back then, but I think answering "yes and no" is different from answering "neither". And there should be a "neither" or "independent" option for those sort of questions. A cat is neither a leader or a follower, it just does what it wants. But someone can be BOTH a leader and follower if they actually switch between those two roles (on a somewhat regular basis so its part of ones personality).

I found a video about sigma males last weekend. I've heard of alpha and beta males but I didn't know about other personality types. I've watched a couple videos and found them interesting. Most of it really clicked. Today I learned delta and omega also exist. All the while, the other half of my brain is saying "who cares."

Maybe stop what you are doing and meditate and take a few deep breaths. Break what needs to be done in small steps in your mind and execute. When each step is complete move on to the next until finished. If you start losing focus on the current step thinking about the previous step repeat the deep breathing and refocus and continue.

-Observation is my constant. My mind is working overtime, aware of others and their struggles, their strengths and weaknesses. Aware of their surroundings, potential hazards, possible solutions. Figuring out who people are, why they are the way they are, what connections do we share? Where does everything come from, where did i come from? How good can you fight, how will i take you down? Why have we crossed paths, what can you teach me and what can i teach you? Alphas can rule, ill take care of everything else. I value and treat all people the same but my tolerance levels for each individuals traits are different for each, which can also depends how recharged my social batteries are. Im not interested in leading but if leadership is poor i will push for a more worthy leader or ill take control and play the leader. Being a lone wolf you have to be self sufficient, in a world of monsters you have to be able to become a monster yourself. Your true nature may be of peace, compassion but youre quietly competitive nature and quest for self improvement makes you always be ready for war. It just goes on and on.
The introverted mind is an extraordinary place, and just because introverts live there doesnt mean they dont want anybody to come in, speak something that means something, chit chat is not our way, it can actually push us away most of the time.
Am i sigma? I never really cared, but one thing the label has shown me is that there are others with the same personality traits, which is awesome because life as a young sigma is not easy, feeling different to others when you dont want to is not an easy thing and can make you feel isolated/alone. Learning to accept your personality and working on your strengths and weaknesses is a must, just one of many challenges a man must face is accepting himself, which is even harder for a lone wolf because he faces the world alone, with his heart full of pride its not easy to ask for help.

First, I think that omega or sigma describes me the best, though I think that I don't fit in any of these categories. I am a loner, don't have many friends, never had a girlfriend. In big cliques I feel uncomortable. I am not shy in general. Only when it comes to get to know a potential partner, I have big difficulties. When it comes to others, I prefer deep discussions. I am not good at making compliments to others. When I did a mistake, I can reflect myself and apologize. However, I rely on other ppl's opinions. Other opinions are important to me. When ppl dislike me and show it to me, I can get hurt. I can impress ppl with my ideas. I feel no pain to make a joke of myself. Was frontman of a Death Metal band. My hobbies are niche (for instance playing Warhammer or growing chili plants). I like myself, visually and character wise, but I also know that ppl find me strange or get intimidated by my rhetorical dominance or extrovertive behavior. If I feel threatened by others, I can become aggressive, sometimes violent. Too many contradictions to fit in any category

#7 is the most obnoxious thing for me to deal with, as well as for others around me I am sure. I don't see a point to just complaining incessantly. If you find a solution to a problem, you no longer have to deal with that problem. Some people just like to complain and I'm trying to learn how to just respect their wishes. But it drives me nuts. I think the challenge with point 7, and I've certainly been guilty of this, is that I've recognized that many people when they talk to me about their problems, they aren't looking for a solution, despite the fact that I may have formulated many solutions in my mind. A certain amount of empathy has gone a long way for me to develop a level of self awareness on when to be able to recognize when I'm about to try and put out a solution, when really, the other person just wants a person to talk to or vent to without judgement, or without analysis on who is right or wrong, or what to do about it.

Pretty much me in all my relationships. Women open themselves up to me and I give them solutions to their problems. Turns out they just needed sympathy more than actually fixing their issues. So I get called insensitive and all that. It's a flaw I've come to improve, like you said.

    • @zakosist

If I can think of a solution that may work I will offer it. But not all kinds of problems can just be solved. If they dont want to hear solutions and at least trying to make an effort for a fully solvable problem, that makes me actually sympathize less. If its really that bad you would want it fixed. And if you dont want to make any effort you have yourself to blame (trying to make an effort but still failing is different). But of course I can listen ALSO, they aren't mutually exclusive.
I may or may not be a sigma, identified with majority but not all points here, but I dont really care.

I did a personality test (Briggs-Myers) a few years ago and found that I'm both an introvert and an extravert (right on the line). However, deep down I feel that I'm more of an introvert and keep very much to myself (i.e. I enjoy my solitude much more than a gathering). In short, I can certainly relate to inward thinking as this is how I solve most of my problems. I can open up at the right time, but it took me years to even start to be comfortable with public speaking. I'm also one of these people who needs to be moving to think clearly; hence, going for long walks, or even long drives, by myself is where I seem to do most of my thinking. I often joke that I solve all of the world's problems during a long drive 😎.

Yes... this is somewhat true but a true sigma is more of a lone wolf, females are attracted to sigmas but they are too intimidated by their unpredictability, sigmas are the lone wolf who lead the pack, they are the silent leaders of the wolf pride who don’t have to show their dominance as everybody unconsciously gives them the throne. Sigmas also prefer not to lose their virginity, as they see sex as an illogical act, a waste of time and energy. Sigmas don’t dominate through aggression but through intellect and thoughtfulness, this mysteriousness of the sigma makes females lose it, even though attracting a female is considered meaningless by a sigma.
