Amen! I also remember a hymn my parents love, My God is with me all the time. The line "I've seen it in the lightning, heard it in the thunder, and felt it in the rain, my God is with me all the time, my God is with me all the time." It's hard to concentrate in stressful times, but He is still there.

God planted the idea of the shelter, Granger listened, and when you needed it, you had it. So glad you guys are all safe.

I grew up making trips to the cellar; which was underground in the side of a hill our family home was built on. Your beautiful family will do well using a protective shelter, including your young ones. It'll teach them all about storms and bad weather, keeping them safe far into their future and their children's futures. Overtime it'll bring them confidence and security. My best wishes to you!

I cannot imagine. This is a day late, so I am not sure how everyone faired, but I hope everyone made it thru ok. Stuff can be replaced. People cannot. My daughter and I learned this lesson the hard way when our neighbour's condo had a devastating fire and we lost everything too. Now 15 years later, I am thinking about moving and looking around at all the excess stuff that I'll either be tossing or donating. Hopefully the latter. 🤪
I an in alabama. The last 2 tornado events were absolutely terrifying. Where we live in our state, we do not get storms like this. 2 weeks in a row. 6 warnings in the 2 storm systems. 13 years here. I saw a tornado both times! It was terrifying. Luckily it jumped the community shelter we were in. Nearly 3 weeks out, I still hear all the sirens.

Loved seeing you both comforting the kids. We had bad storms here in KY last night too. I lost my husband March 27th last year. He used to help me comfort the dogs when it thundered. He passed the week Covid hit here and its been a very lonely year because I couldn't see anyone. Your music and videos are very uplifting for me.
I'm SO glad you have a storm shelter!!! Glad you're safe. The Lord keeps His angels over and around His kids for protection. The goats adhere to the "grass is always greener on the other side of the fence" idea. Lol.

So glad you all are ok. I remember when we had a tornado warning at our house. We got the kids and pets and went down in the basement. My kids are picky eaters and I can alot from our garden. My daughter started crying while we were down there and said "Oh no, we are stuck down here with only beans to eat I don't like beans" 🤣 Love ya"ll

We live in a trailer too and same no basement or storm shelter. I live in Ohio so hopefully we won't get it to bad. Love the smith's

Lady bugs are great. I had 15-20 rose bushes when I lived in Arizona. Lady bugs worked great to control the aphids.

Another storm weathered with the help of the Lord. Granger.....the Lord speaks to you and prepares you for your journey (storm shelter thumbs up). Your plants will be fine. Amber...love to see some more recipes from Texas. My hubby was born there while his parents were in the service and moved back to Missouri when he was a tiny baby. Hope to make a trip to your fine state in the next couple of years.

These fan mail boxes really send it home how much kids love these kinds of things in the mail. Doesn't have to be expensive, just fun trinkets, decorations, and toys. My mom always did this for my daughter. I regret I didn't do it more for my nieces and nephews over the years but now I plan to start this with the kids of my friends and family.

Several years ago in Southern Kentucky there were thousands of cars totalled when a tornado came through our town and baseball side and bigger hail demolished cars. I'm so glad y'all are safe, it is tornado season unfortunately but God will keep His children safe, we just put our faith in Him. God Bless you and your family.
I enjoy all of y’all’s content. From the gardening, cooking, spending time with the kids, Yee Yee farm stuff, the house build, of course the baby to everything else. When I watch an episode I am all in it. I hate for it to end & can’t wait for my notifications to to me a new episode is up. The garden is an inspiration. It’s something I have always wanted to do. Glad everyone is safe. We had them here in DFW as well. I listen to the storm spotters (skywarn) on my scanner so that I know what's going on and where it's moving etc. I grew up having a tornado shelter in North TX, and not having one now bugs me. We've had so many close calls over the past 10 years. Blessings! ✝️

Oh and we are on a list for our storm shelter! (Out in the country on 15 acres in Iowa 😊) esp with kiddos (boys almost 4 and 7) so just keep praying any potential bad storms stay away till this is in!! 😳 🙏 (unless get it early due to schedule change, don’t get till around June 7th as of now, darn!)

Great idea of getting a storm shelter. I grew up in TX, and we didn't have anything like that in any of our homes. Since living up north, we have had basements in every home. It's comforting to know there's a safe place for moments such as this. Glad y'all are okay and had minimum damage.
The good news about your plants is that they will be fine. Trim off any leaves that are severely damaged or stems that are broken. Give them time - they'll be stronger for it. Gardens are amazing - unless your plants are flowering or baring fruit, they'll be ok.
I'm very glad you have the storm shelter. What a sense of comfort it must be knowing that you live where tornados are possible/likely. Where I live, in Alberta Canada, I think I can recall one tornado in my 50 years of life and it was no where near where I lived at the time. Anyways, my point is that I would be scared to death if a tornado were expected here. I would have no idea what to do, but I'm so grateful and glad you were all ok.

I am really glad you guys are okay. We got hail but no tornado, thank the lord. One day when i have the funds i want to build a storm shelter because i live in a remodeled shed, so, not great survival odds in the event of a tornado.
Glad you had the storm shelter. We had a tornado years ago was so scary we came out after and house across street was gone. Neighborhood was destroyed but no lives lost. Id love a storm shelter we just have our basement. Those lady bugs remind me of the Asian beetles we get here. Asparagus yummy we go asparagus hunting here we have wild patches in ditches etc we go hunting all over on gravel roads in the country looking and hoping no one has found our patches lol Have great week love ya all glad your safe. 💙❤💚

You were right to be concerned about scaring the kids but it’s better to be safe and let them understand how safe the shelter is. So glad y’all didn’t have a lot of damage and made it safely through the storm.
Goats, horses and other livestock are always after the grass on the other side. Definitely prefer goats with no horns because they can get back through the fence better without worrying about them getting their heads stuck.

Tip for the ladybugs: do the release in the early evening after you have sprayed water on the plants. They are very thirsty when they arrive. And they are least likely to leave at night. :-)

I'm glad you guys survived that storm. I'm also glad you realized the need to stock your shelter with supplies. Tornadoes can throw heavy debris on top of the entrance to your storm shelter. So, in addition to the usual emergency items such as food, water and blankets, make sure you add crow bars, sledge hammers, hand saws, and other debris-removing tools to the supply list. If a powerful tornado did hit your place, It would be tragic if you guys were trapped in the shelter.
