I absolutely adore what you’ve done with the decorating, I did find a reddit post that seems to help with the sinking junk items, from memory you have to quick save while everything is where it needs to be, exit the game and load that save. I did it in one of the houses and sooo far everything has stayed on the shelves, crossing fingers and toes. Thanks again for a bunch of build / decorating ideas!!!
Anyone, know how to add books to the book bookcases ? And, add things to the wall cabinets or other cases that don't open ? The big display cases are fine ... I'm so frustrated! Ah this is the planet with the Dream Home ❤️ Great place 😁 Great Work so far !
@@accidrainn drop the books on the ground and then open open the home editor to grab the books and it will grab them right side up instead of however they are lying . Also works with all the other items that you would have a rather hard time standing right side up .
@@accidrainn as far as I know you can’t add items to shelving that has doors which are closed. If you can open the doors like you can with the fridge then you can but I don’t think you can do it for the book cases etc. The only ones I know of are under “displays” and then when you’re out of the build menu, you can add objects and they’ll automatically be placed. It does suck that they give you an empty book case / display cabinet that you can’t decorate. It would be nice if they at least already had clutter in them
i was building an outpost and finding it hard how to decorate it. Then, I remembered watching norespawns from fallout 4 settlements builds years ago. Man this guy never disappoints. Inspired me to decorate my outpost/base.
Love this! So excited for some more dlc/modding support as the sheer variety of interior styles in the game is crazy and I can’t wait to use more items.
Used to watch every single Fallout 4 video of yours back in the day, learnt so much. It almost feels like I’ve gone back in time as now once again I’m watching all of your Starfield settlement building videos. As always dude, nice work, keep it up. I’m excited for the next couple of videos you’ve mentioned.
Nice to see I'm not the only one that moves the outpost beacon to be next to the hab stairs. It's so unobtrusive there. Also glad to see other folks collect coffee mugs as well!
Your videos always make me wish i was playing the game ... very good build. Also, you're like the first outpost content creator that collected items other than loots to really show the possibilities of the game. Kudos 👏🏽
you mean like the misc items? im only going for unique interesting things atm, basically in my headcanon my character is picking up souvenirs as they go
@norespawns yes. Exactly. I actually think that is one of Bethseda plan. Most videos I've seen only use items gotten from research. There was a time I saw a robot like vasco which could be moved... I thought it would be nice to drag to the ship to see if it could be taken to an outpost to use as a decoration.... just an extension of your actions of collecting.
I can see how people wouldn't get on with this style, but what i love about your build --is that it looks lived in. Minimal but functional, like a tidy mess n you know where everything is. There are too many showrooms where everything's shiny clean.. with massive spaces.. with nothing in it. Much prefer this style.
Found an amazing Air lock tip: if you open the outer door, place a crate inside the airlock along the side of the door, then open the inner airlock, the outside door will stay open and you can then have an open entrance! You mentioned the doors in a past video, so i figured out a solution!
This is why I love Starfield! It is the only game where you can place things whereever you want to decorate your home. Im addicted to collect different stuff to place it in my homebase. As example I collect stuff now for my kitchen to equipe it.
By far the best outpost I’ve seen made yet. Well done my friend. I was gonna do some videos on it for my son to see and use in his game like I did with the ships. However I’ve put it off the last week and just can’t the hang of the system yet. Great video and thanks for sharing and giving me some ideas to move forward with.
Noooo way I’ve found youuuu again. Watched you in highschool maybe even middle school years ago, I loved your fallout settlement builds I’m 20 now bro I am not making the mistake of not subscribing this time much love brother great build can’t wait to see more
For aluminum and other resource farming; find a planet that has longer Universal time then local time. Resource generation rates are determined via universal time so sleeping in a bed for 24 hours local time could be 6 days generation universal time. Also link lots of storage containers together. The resource collectors just stop generating if you fill your storage cap. The 2x2 industrial containers fill up about 500lbs each.
There's a moon in the Bessel system where 1 Local hour is something like 157 UT hours, and it has Iron, Aluminum, Cobalt, and Nickel. I think it's Bessel III-b. Edit: Bessel is near the top left of the galaxy map
I rly like this one, I’m setting up an outpost just for fun and aesthetics not trying to farm resources or xp so this is givin me good ideas ty, gonna go into the perks that let me do plants and animals and build a lil farm
Everyone only seems to create on a flat location. Their outposts look great but topologically uninteresting. You can build on a mountain, I've done it. There are limits but it's a fun challenge trying to pick the optimal spot and position items. The hardest to position is the landing pad. When you do this though each outpost looks far more interesting. Nice to see your decorating finally Davey, was always a highlight of the fallout 4 stuff when you did that as it takes a lot of work.
I have 3 characters running currently. I did an outpost with the second character. Resources were in short supply and any I had ran out fast during build.
It's funny, as I absolutely loved building in Fallout 4, but cannot stand the Outpost building in this game! Why on earth did Beth decide to not have an infinite workshop like in FO4?!? Mind-bogglingly bad decision there, imo. I am RP'ing as Kaylee Frye from Firefly, and just want to live on my ship - hopefully proper ship interior decorating/building, putting my plushies down properly, will come in dlc (most likely mods haha) Anyway, I like the way you make your houses all cosy - I'm the same, homey and lived-in vibes!
Nice!!!, side note incase it hasnt be stated or you didnt know, this is ACTUALLY the "paradise" world your DREAM home is on... SO you can actually place an outpost kinda close to the house which is GREAT for storage and a roleplay standard but yeah there is maybe a couple of reasons that world is the way it is, because its soooo NICE as a paradise world, but with intersystem/planet link parts, and helps with the lack of resources for making building there.... Im personally in process of building a resort... but yeah IP lololol
One of the first Outpost building mods should be one that adds in a small Cargo Link. The current vanilla one is massive & takes like 30% of build area.
Very nice work. Just a small warning : Mannequins are bugged. They often disappear when you travel to another planet. I lost mine on my small crate in Neon with the armor placed on it.
Hey you! ..... Years ago I geeked out on Fallout 4 settlementbuilding (I have some in my videos.... ;P) and watched alot of your videos. Was happy to se you in my feed again theese years later. :) Realized I did´nt subscribe back then.... Sorry...... Fixed that now....
If you have the Dream Home trait, the house is actually on Nesoi. Unfortunately you can't build an outpost too close to the house, which sucks, because I wanted a landing pad close to the house. Hopefully modders will fix this. Also, your outpost build looks good.
looks great! i also have my main outpost on Nesoi!! Did not know none of the animals will works smh (well two next to each other, one is a landing pad "the line" to defend from a nearby pirate outpost)
class vid i roleplay in this game too only 32hrs in so no base yet but will probs do one before christmas have subbed and pressed the bell hello from Scotland
Do you know if they are going to fix the decorating bug? The one where you place items you find around the world then leave and come back and the items sink into your furniture.
I had the same sinking items problem. The key is once they sink go into build mode and select them so that they jump back up and then place without moving them then after that I have had no further issues so I think it's a 1 off glitch. I really wish there was a way to layer items like a sandwich on a cutting board or place fruit in the mixing bowl. (I really want a fruit bowl for my table. Modders please hop on that. Even a combined single mesh object would be awesome.) As far as Habitats I make separate "Zones" for different functions. I have a hab for my Horticulturist as a home with the "greenhouse zone" and a residence for my Animal guy that looks like a "Space Farm" Zone. Yes we really do need Fencing. I tried the office dividers and they looked like Bovine Feces. Storage Crates are akin to the days when we used foundation squares to make walls in Fallout, total Fail but all we had at the time. Areas with tree groupings make Awesome outdoor break areas with a BBQ (Small cooking stove on a cart) and resting area with a table decorated with beer and playing cards. My assigned people actually use mine.
I want to do something like this but I keep hearing horror stories of people losing all their items in homes, mannequins losing their gear on ships etc. I don't trust Bethesda to not delete everything on me just yet :(
Dude... Are you using the infinite outpost build budget mod? This is so awesome! I just wanna build an enormous outpost but I can't get the mod to work🤔
Please tell me your going to do a similar series for Starfield as you did in Fallout 4. Please man do it like a okay home show case or hell just an Outpost series.
that's the plan, though obv at some point im gonna need DLCs and updates, long-term plan is to be heavily involved with modding when the official tools drop
Well then the "God Howard" needs to get them DLC cranked out. Because I loved your builds in Fallout 4. Truth man they help with my PTSD. Plus they are just amazing.
Hey Dave, would you be a darling and report to us whether or not you notice any of your randomly placed items disappearing? It's a question people are concerned about and if Todd is watching, he should know. 🍻
yeah, a couple - notably, I noticed that on my other character, I'd placed a unique map you get from a quest, and after loading back in, it was just gone. Also, putting notes in the dataslate displays appears to just delete them
@norespawns Such an absolute shame. I hope they can fix this. My other question would be if you've ever encountered this in any other other BGS rpg, but I don't want to be a nuisance. I guess I will store anything I really enjoy into the infinite container at the Lodge for now and hope that will suffice.
The modular nature of this build system made it so boring to me and a big step backwards. It's hard to know how after ten years of work they not only came up with something considerably worse but also full of some really disappointing bugs.
I absolutely adore what you’ve done with the decorating, I did find a reddit post that seems to help with the sinking junk items, from memory you have to quick save while everything is where it needs to be, exit the game and load that save. ahh noted, i might give that a try - makes sense, as it might need to 'lock' the items in place
Anyone, know how to add books to the book bookcases ? And, add things to the wall cabinets or other cases that don't open ? The big display cases are fine ... I'm so frustrated!

I was just wondering about this issue! Thank you for sharing.
For the limited amount of outpost stuff you’re naturally allowed to build vs the stuff that is in game, this is really impressive.
i was building an outpost and finding it hard how to decorate it. Then, I remembered watching norespawns from fallout 4 settlements builds years ago. Man this guy never disappoints. Inspired me to decorate my outpost/base.

Far out, i wish i could bild like this 👏
This is the content I’m here for. Been watching your channel since the early F4 days
I love what you did with the place, i can relate to the 'cramped spaces' lol.
i like your enthusiasm about new objects coming to the editor.
This is why I love Starfield! It is the only game where you can place things whereever you want to decorate your home. Im addicted to collect different stuff to place it in my homebase. As example I collect stuff now for my kitchen to equipe it.
Have you tried fallout? It doesn’t have that feature but there’s a mod to place objects as static ones and it’s nice to decorate.
I watched I think 3 outpost builds sofar from you. All has the welcoming homey feel to it. Love it.
Great work as always, the colors in this Nesoi biome also remind me of the Fo76 palette. Nostalgia…
Loving the starfield builds m8, keep it up!
My outpost is on the same planet as yours. I chose it because it's so beautiful.
Great design, I love putting stuff around the resource miners. Really makes them feel intentional rather than required. You earned my Sub for this :D
This looks so good. Love using the crates to help form a perimeter definitely taking “inspiration” from that
Love the "junk walls".
Love this, and your room is kind of what I was looking for in finding a good example of how to do a bedroom.
Way cool! Thanks for the inspiration!
Awesome build. Looks like the game generated it. Can't wait for DLC and mods.
I can't get into building, I miss separate walls & foundations too much.
We could all use a little more bits and bobs in our lives.
Such an inspiration. You’ve completely changed how I think about the game :)
By far the best outpost I’ve seen made yet. Well done my friend. I was gonna do some videos on it for my son to see and use in his game like I did with the ships. Great idea using the hallway as a bathroom space. I was wondering how to wall off that stuff. Im hoping they add more with a dlc too.
Yeeesss hallway bathrooms! 😍
You hear that bethesda!?! FENCES
I have 3 characters running currently. I did an outpost with the second character. Resources were in short supply and any I had ran out fast during build.
I MISS the fallout 4 buildable settlements 😢😢
Also, buying that old apple computer and vhs tape from the crimson fleet rare item vender really kicked up the design lol.

if you use the two floor hab you can snap habs on top of each other
Nesoi has a large player home if you picked the "Dream Home" trait at the beginning of the game.
I made a video tour of the decorated player home.
class vid i roleplay in this game too only 32hrs in so no base yet but will probs do one before christmas have subbed and pressed the bell hello from Scotland
Do settlements get attacked? More of a annoyance in 76, but when it's a scorchbeast attack it's pretty fun
Also, hopefully they do patch the sinking junk items glitch. Ive been doing the drop, then leave and save, then reload trick.

Great video and build, but where is this on Nesoi ?
Loving the game but with 2 small children I am not getting enough time… the building side is still a bit of a mystery!
Where did you find that model ship that’s on top of your fridge??
Is this a random spot you found somewhere along the planet?
Or is it build on the landing area?
With it being so flat.
How did you do the windows in the prefab? My game doesn’t seem to have them.
Where did you get the habs with shaped windows?
Dude... Are you using the infinite outpost build budget mod? This is so awesome! I just wanna build an enormous outpost but I can't get the mod to work🤔
nah no mods - this just doesn't take up much build budget, they've really raised the limit in Starfield
What hab was used for the main house?
Please do some ship builds!
potentially next video - I need to lvl this character a bit in the relevant skills, but they're planned
Please tell me your going to do a similar series for Starfield as you did in Fallout 4.

You have scan animals 2 100% To be able make a farm Shown in other Videos
I've done that - you can see me open the scanner during the video. The issue is that only certain animals can be used for domestication.
Planet name please
Care to share what planet is this
Nesoi, Olympus System.
What planet is this?
Can you import domesticated animals from another planet?
nahh sadly not - at least not atm
All bethesda single player fallout games are built on the old arse oblivion engine. And yes starfield is as well, to my surprise
The modular nature of this build system made it so boring to me and a big step backwards. It's hard to know how after ten years of work they not only came up with something considerably worse but also full of some really disappointing bugs.
I hate all my own designs, I try to copy yours to the letter but still don’t like them
