Something that no one seems to mention is that during the initial reveal of Smash Ultimate at E3 2018, the Villager was shown to have all 8 palette swaps to have white skin, however on release, two of the palette colors have darker skin.
It is also the same thing with Pokemon Trainer's blue costume: he had white skin at the demo, but tanned skin at the final release. Speaking of demo costumes, Ridley also had a black costume and a green costume in the demo, that are used as a placeholder for his Meta Ridley costumes which are unavailable until the final release.

Personally I always thought that if Chrom was gonna be a fighter, then he should be replaced with Morgan. How cool would it have been to have a parent-child combo as Robin's Final Smash? Sadly that would mean making two different versions of the same Final Smash, depending on which Robin you're playing.

You didn't notice that one of the images of the early Battlefield shows 2 Mario's and the Mario on top of the platform is in his Fire Mario alt eventhough it was cut.
Obviously the “convention mode” is a dev mode specifically for demo-ing the game at conventions, in a way that shows off what the game will be like, while not being the full game, just in case of the convention copy “going missing” that not everything gets leaked. They never deleted it from the code for the full release because it was unnecessary work, no one would see it anyway so why waste time and money on removing it?

But for Sm4sh and Ultimate, they gave him new animations to match Marth's new F-Spec, and they removed his multihit. I've always wondered why they didn't just give Roy his old Melee animations and multihit to make him more unique.
I honestly wish there were more moves that behaved as executes in standard stock battles. Hero’s Whack and Thwack are cool, but Ridley, Ganondorf, and Kirby all have moves that could be really cool as executes.

3:54 that is in the game. One of Pac-Man's challenges in the Joker matchup is that joker can use his guns on the trampoline to turn it green, meaning Pac-Man will be put into a helpless state by it.
You forgot to mention something else that was found. Popular modder/hacker Mizumi found that Piranha Plant used Bowser Jr as a base at one point, and that he has (or maybe had) all of Jr's car animations still left over.
You missed out that Fourside before, where in the reveal of the game, when they revealed Bowser Jr. and the Koopalings, there was a skyscraper with the text "DEPARTMENT" going down its facade, which is supposed to be the Grand Department Store that is found in Fourside in EarthBound. In the final release, the skyscraper is still there, but the "DEPARTMENT" text was removed. Don't know why they removed it, and it's a shame they removed it since it's a really cool reference and nice detail.
I really like the tech presentation, I would love to see them make a "Making Smash" book, sort of like the making a champion, so we could get alllllll those sweet Ultimate Beta details we missed out on. If Sakurai would have any hand in writing that book, it would be LOADED with all sorts of beta information, knowing how he has an eye for detail. Regardless I would love to see the concepts and mockups for all those scrapped stages and other scrapped details.
Those Battlefield concept arts looks so sick it hurts that we got the one that looks a lot similar to the Smash 4 one, but i understand it was for matching the game art style. I really hope to see one of those in the future.
Don't forget about placeholders for Rare Spirits (Jet Force Gemini & Blast Corps) have a presence in Ultimate's files, since the first patch before Banjo & Kazooie's inclusion. .. Honestly, it looks like the duo was potentially going to be base roster, but were pushed back so they could be worked on.
Something you might’ve missed, but it’s unnecessary since it’s not a big deal Roy had a new dash animation in his character showcase trailer, but it was changed back to its Smash 4 iteration, which is of course the one like Marth’s and Lucina’s.

The things I've found the most interesting in this is the that at 11:55 the bomb doesn't explode after Terry's Neutral B meaning that is a simple hitbox and not a fire hitbox

The convention mode was probably the tournament placing thing that used to be exclusive to Japan but wad added worldwide through an update.

Honestly about Rex, if Sakurai couldn't add him in the base roster in time, the least he could do is include him as DLC after this wave. That's what I would've done.
Erick Maverick he stated there will be no existing franchises included as dlc. this means that for example shulk is already in the game and he is from xenoblade chronicles, so rex wont be in the game because he is also a xenoblade character.

It’s not true or not that I know. Chun Li was probably considered but not worked on and they decided to choose Ken because I would save time in development.

You forgot to mention something else that was found. Popular modder/hacker Mizumi found that Piranha Plant used Bowser Jr as a base at one point, and that he has (or maybe had) all of Jr's car animations still left over.

Pure speculation, but "Convention Mode" might have been a demo mode of sorts to be used at gaming conventions and promo events.
You missed out that Fourside before, where in the reveal of the game, when they revealed Bowser Jr. and the Koopalings, there was a skyscraper with the text "DEPARTMENT" going down its facade, which is supposed to be the Grand Department Store that is found in Fourside in EarthBound. In the final release, the skyscraper is still there, but the "DEPARTMENT" text was removed. Don't know why they removed it, and it's a shame they removed it since it's a really cool reference and nice detail.

I really like the tech presentation, I would love to see them make a "Making Smash" book, sort of like the making a champion, so we could get alllllll those sweet Ultimate Beta details we missed out on. If Sakurai would have any hand in writing that book, it would be LOADED with all sorts of beta information, knowing how he has an eye for detail. Regardless I would love to see the concepts and mockups for all those scrapped stages and other scrapped details.

The things I've found the most interesting in this is the that at 11:55 the bomb doesn't explode after Terry's Neutral B meaning that is a simple hitbox and not a fire hitbox

@@kirbylover37 Well they both have 3 jumps and their down smash is practically identical. Their recovery's are similar (Ridley's also able to be used similarly to blast burn, albeit weaker). They bith breath fire for neutral special. . . I could go on.

Great video! Some very interesting info. I think my favorite info was about Pac-Man. I play him often and thinking about adding those two wacky quirks to his kit along with everything else the oddball already has going for him would be great.
Interesting thing about the smash 3ds screenshot is that it uses brawl character art.
Also, I would've preferred one of those different battlefields.
