    Very good, although the text tool needs more features. The possibility of including a gradient, a path and being able to play more with the glow (both the exterior and interior), as well as the reliefs. On the other hand, it would be good to include a small animation section for these, mainly scaling or transitions that are better adapted with the text tools. In this way, everything will be at hand and we will not have to use the animation tool and locate each placeholder, perhaps a different system for this tool.

      If you want to get really creative with text, you can drop dynamic backgrounds on a layer below it, and then drop the Media Matte visual effect onto your text layer so that only the dynamic background shows through the text. You can do that with gradients as well, anything that is on the layer below the media matte/text layer will now show through the text.
      You can put text on a path with Motion Paths (in v2023) as well! You'll also find Glow in the Visual Effects tab too. Lots of this stuff already exists, but it's not specific to text layers.

    I know this is a bit off topic, but for a future Camtasia update I think a good new audio effect could be some kind of Stereo direction slider tool. Where you can adjust if certain effects only come out of the left or right ear, or somewhere in between (or maybe even be able to keyframe them so the sound gradually shifts channels?) I've been using camtasia for years to work on my animations and I've been having to use other programs to adjust audio to only appear on one side, and it would be nice to be able to do that all in Camtasia. And sorry if this isn't the best place to suggest a feature, it's just something that crossed my mind. Cheers

      We're always open to hearing user feedback on new request ideas. I wouldn't expect something like this any time soon though. Most of our audio focus has shifted our team over to TechSmith Audiate, and even over there, it's not the main focus and could take a while before it is. But you never know! I'll let the team read this request for sure, thanks!

    something closer to a wysiwyg for text in camtasia would be great. i currently have to import a ppt slide or fight with all the callout formatting. it could just be a lot easier and it doesn't seem to be a super complicated thing... but I'm not a product dev, so what do i know?

    Very good video. But we need a lot more text tools like text on a path, arc, outline text and more. Please please please. I have to go to Powerpoint and record animated text slides and bring them into camtasia.

    • @techsmith
      @techsmith  ปีที่แล้ว

      We'll mention these to the dev team, but if you have Camtasia 2023, you can do a lot more motion with the Motion Path visual effect. Add that PLUS a behavior and you'll be able to do a lot more!

      Thanks! And I'm pretty sure I blinked at LEAST 4 times. Though some of those blinks might have been off-camera... 😉(Andy)

    Excited to see the animated map route. Can that be done in Camtasia yet?

    • @techsmith
      @techsmith  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry for the confusion, that's an asset from our TechSmith Assets for Camtasia site (library.techsmith.com). But you could create something similar using media mattes, or even our new Motion Paths effect. It'd just be more manual.

    I think they should add more ways to create with text. For example: the outside outline of a text (instead of dropping a shadow most of the time)
    For video render, to have a 4K option, and increase to 120fps on a 1080p video

    • @techsmith
      @techsmith  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      While most of those would be things we 'd need to add, I can tell you we already have a 4K render option. But I'll let the team know about your other requests!

      I really really like Camtasia and yes I agree 💯 percent. Having more features with text like outlining text and being able to do gradient text and overlay would change the Camtasia game.

      We just release a 2023.1.2 update on the mac side that allows stroked text! What you want to do is add a border effect on your text and the check the "Use Alpha" checkbox to make the border fit to the text itself.

      @@techsmith Hello, is there the option of outlines for text in Windows?
      Because I didn't find it.
      I installed the software to try and did not find it.

    • @techsmith
      @techsmith  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@videoclip1324 you CAN outline text, but it’s not in the text properties like you’d think, it’s a bit of a workaround. Click “Visual Effects” and then add “Border” to your text callout. In the properties panel under the Border effect, check the box that says “Alpha” (it may say more, I don’t have it open at the moment).

    If you already created a theme in Snagit, is it possible to export\import it to Camtastia?

    • @techsmith
      @techsmith  ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortunately not, Snagit's themes are only compatible with Snagit.

    I usually remove the tail because I am looking for a pill shape. Does it have a pill shape?

    • @techsmith
      @techsmith  ปีที่แล้ว

      Not by default, but you can add a rectangle from our annotations and then add the corner rounding visual effect to make a pill shape. Like so: app.screencast.com/oL7w02MMFBJRc

      @@techsmith Great tip. I hate that I have to recreate this every time. I cannot save it to my favorites :(

    • @techsmith
      @techsmith  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Can't have it in Favorites (because of the visual effect) BUT you can have it saved to your library! Right-click the pill in the timeline and choose "Add to Library." Then either put it in your default library, or save a new custom-named library, name the shape, select "Use Canvas Size" and hit "Add." Not quite the same as the Favorites, but not recreating it each time either. app.screencast.com/SrN8NOI00N31X
