Except for the bassist, the other 3, including Steve Upton, Andy Powell and Laurie Wisefield performed in Mumbai in the 80s. Trevor Bolder was the bassist in the Mumbai concerts.
I am a rocker from India. In the mid 80s, Wishbone Ash was the first foreign band whose concert I attended, and since then, there has been no looking back. I was lucky to meet the group when they were lazing around by the pool at the Palm Beach Hotel in Juhu, Mumbai. They autographed my denim jacket on which earlier my brother and another die-hard rock fan, Prakash, had artistically imprinted Wishbone Ash on to it. Andy Powell & Laurie Wisefield, the two lead guitarists who made their guitars talk to one another, bassist Trevor Bolder and on percussion the energetic Steve Upton made up the troupe. Believe me, until that concert, I had never heard any of their songs, but their music was so catchy that I automatically began to grove to it. Before one could say Jack Robinson, I was high on the music. With the rolls of Steve's drums (Phoenix), Andy's vocals and Laurie's seconds, Trevor plucking on the bass and with hash in the air, the atmosphere was heavenly perfect for and any novice to get instantly hooked onto rock. In all, I attended 3 of their concerts, all in Mumbai. I rate Wishbone Ash as one of the top pure rock bands of all time.
This was the original band. It was so great. I saw Wishbone Ash and Ten Years after together in front of Besancon, France at a chateaux in June 2008. It was a great atmosphere with the french audience and with both great bands.

Great concert Looks like Martin having the same shirt on that Jon Bon Jovi did put on in the "I´ll be there for you" video I you remember. Love that print, always been a dream getting this
Being a fan since 1982, I did enjoy this clip. New England is my fav album of W. A. and to me one of the greatest rock operas of all time, albeit incredibly under-rated
Damm! I just listened to Argus a d this followed, that's the original line up too, they were smokin hot! I always thought Steve Upton had dark hair due to the photos on Argus.
I saw them outside of St Louis in the late 80's with Andy Peal on Bass, had a beer with him it was all good! They had Foghat on board and I cant remember who played guitar beside Andy Pyle but it was good
@ Fred Carter. Never knew Pyle played bass with them in the late 80s, unless it was as a temporary brief replacement. You sure it wasn't in the early 90s when Upton left and Weston came in for drums
Wow this musta been one of their last shows with the original lineup? Havent seen any video.s of Steve Upton in years n years? wondered what band he joined up with after W Ash?
@looneytunes47 Ted Turner defo played in the band in 91 too. Saw the original reunion line up every London gig at this time. Last time I saw them was in 95 but it was vastly different and not so good
Totally agree with previous comments. This is the original, definitive - and dare I say "the real" - Wishbone Ash. The current version, good as it is, lacks the authenticity of the original line up: Steve Upton on drums, Ted Turner on guitar/vocals and of course the inimitable voice of Martin Turner, who of course wrote and sang many of the classic songs.
They were prog rock before prog was cool. They smashed you in the mouth with dual guitarists that could jam flawlessly and also play blues that would make your eyes water. I had the luxury of seeing them overseas in December of 1976.
Cool ... one if my "go to" bands (I am "all in" on their albums( ... was this released? If so, can you advise DVD, BluRay source, etc ... thank you .... CMcG, Aberdeen, Scotland
This concert was not officially released as a DVD. The official release for Wishbone Ash on this Tour was from Bristol. This performance came from the TV - Other examples of concerts they showed from the Town and Country Club were Saxon, Honeymoon Suite etc
@@groovedohg Thank you ... I have most of the DVDs (including the Bristol gig) ... I will need to dig out the mega box set that I bought to see if this was included in it ... good show with good sound ... still go to their gigs (both versions of the band) when they come around ... always a great night.
Thank you for posting, absolutely wonderful. Fantastic line up. Do you happen to have footage on their Walthamstow Town Hall gig? Can't remember exact year, must be early 90's. I was so happy to catch my favourite band, I was at the front

@@groovedohg Paul, Happy New year, 2024. Was that you describing seeing W.A. at the Hammersmith Odeon in 1988?!
I just posted the BBC Hammersmith '88 1 hour (audio only) - Ted Turner was anounced as a "guest from Chicago,". He must have stayed on then for the next 3 years!
Great concert
Looks like Martin having the same shirt on that Jon Bon Jovi did put on in the "I´ll be there for you" video I you remember. Love that print, always been a dream getting this
Ted Turner.
Great lap top steel guitar here.
David Lindley would have loved this.
Seems he had at least one Limey shredder who could rip like him.
There was a time when my younger brother played them almost incessantly !
I got to know them too. Great catchy instrumentals. Classic ! 😊
Ooh what a feeling. Goose pimples!
WISHBONE ASH le vrai... Un régal. 👌👏😊
It's a shame they won't bury the hatchet and the remaining original members get back together.
Great playing like always!!
Wow! I've never heard of this outfit, but i have heard a lot of familiar riffs that bigger bands have "borrowed"
The Real Wishbone Ash,Great !!!!
exceptional
WHY did Ted left the band? His sound is unreal...
He was kicked out by andy who reserved the rights to the band behind their backs
It cannot be Wishbone Ash without Martin Turner.
No sir.
Охрененный... Восторг
You absolutely fucking right!
Fuck yeah.

Слушаю снова... Всё введено... ❤

Where is the Flying V?
Must have flown away ;)
Yes and where's Ted's iconic Tele?
@@M1cko33 Sorry about the Tele. Should have been strat and I remembe it being sunburst when I first saw them. Thanks for the correction.
Не такой, я уж и... Старый❤
Amazing 😊
oleeeeeeeeee
Oh god, I'm crying how good this is 🥲 I'm always sad that they didn't stay together. The original lineup is just perfect
