The Golden Void is the greatest piece of classical music ( space rock) ever written and performed on this planet ( I believe they were practicing on another). Eat your hearts out all the orchestras of the world. I'll be going out of this planet playing that at the service. I can't wait.
Nothing beats The Golden Void. The first time I heard it, I was floored, Dave's power chords, Lemmy grooving effortlessly, the beauty of Simon's violin and that sax tone from Nik is pure psychedelic bliss and a joyful sense of infinite time. And the highest note ever recorded on a VCS-3! This version almost equals the original, in one the best post-classical lineups of the Hawks.
Awesome!!! The Greatest psychedelic space rock band of all times.....Hawkwind forever!!!!! Old beautiful memories...phenomenal and legendary band!!!!! Thanks. Enzo57Italy
Just WoW! Bridget Wishart is amazing. What a wonderful performance from her. She's so anti-glamour yet also adds so much complex beauty with her vocals and performance art. Timeless band. Hawkwind are definitely one of the best ever.
@@Lena-di2ln She indeed performs and sings well. I never saw her live I regret to say. I fantasize seeing this Poly Sterene or Pauline Murray of Penetration in her place. Bridget resembles Pauline Murray best I think in this fantasy of mine..
The beginning is just so full of anticipation,..like standing on the edge of a cliff ... When they all kick in , the energy fuels our silver machines..
I love this show is it just SOOOOO GOOODD!!!!! I did not really know much about this band until I watched and listened to an interview with Lemmy. It opened up a whole new world of some of the most fantastic prog music I did not even know existed !! Thnx to the guys and girls from Hawkwind for many years of great music and shows.
This is my favourite band, always!!! Since 40 years i follow them and this is the only band who makes me travel through a real space psychadélic to the land of tne ancient warriors and i love that my god!!!!!!! The most beautiful ship of sound of the universe....
David Askew Check out the version on Canterbury Fayre, Simon's there. It's a magnificent live album and many tracks I feel are the best live versions. May just be my favourite live album, either that or Spaced Out In London.

WOW!! Been a long time fan of hawkwind/hawklords, but first time I saw this video. This is unbelievable!! Nobody does space/acid rock better than hawkwind, but this is space/acid rock with new wave/ punk rock, fusion, all combined. violin is amazing. unbelievable.
Saw the band loads accross the UK during the mid 80s to early 90s....happy times. At the end of the UK festival scene in the 80s Hawkwind were a staple with the Ozrics, Magic Mushroom Band, Here and Now and Culture Shock......
This was around the time I thought Hawkwind were loosing the plot, Simon House's brilliant musicianship holds it all together.(Since this came out it's grown on me more and more, I love it now)
Saw this band live leeds university 1972 with lemmy and stacia and 30 + more times throughout England.totally adictive still play space ritual and hall of the mountain grill in my car radio.what a power they genrate awsome it's mind blowing think all that acid I took in the seventys has finally left my system.we were born to go as far as we can. fly turn your dreams into reality.what an amazing band.
This is great, really. Hawkwind and these fine tunes were great when i was a young teenager. And this is still great music for me in these days, when i am getting older .. Thx to Hawkwind, thx to the uploader...
First saw this back in the 1990's channel hopping to Channel4 with my mate Grant. We were both on acid at the time. I'll never forget that evening. I've seen Hawkwind live 3 times but I think this remains my favourite Hawkwind experience. At 34:00 particularly sticks in my mind from that tripppppp. "The lid, the lid it comes off!"
I first saw them in the 80's doing the Levitation tour, at Reading top rank, I saw them about twelve times, but by the mid 90's went off them, I would have loved to have seen them in the early 70's and later during the Hawklords time, with Bob Calvert. I think I have seen Nick Turner just as many times with inner city unit, and the all stars. Great seeing the comments on here, I don't encounter many Hawkwind fans.
The "Masters of the Universe" came "Out of theShadows" and became the "Lords of Light" and will never be put "Back in the Box". I started listening at age 14. I'm now 65 and still riding the good ship HAWKWIND.
Brilliant - Brings back memories of one of the first Hawkwind concerts I saw. Cardiff castle in the mid 70's!! what the hell I wasted the next 5 years with punk! (Stranglers at the Top Rank-duuuh) never mind I finally saw the light!!
Listening after the UK exit from the EU. As long as there is always Hawkwind all will be alright in the Universe. I absolutely love everything about this video...Night Of The Hawks!
No, and please DON'T! Most of the younger generation and Scotland want to remain in the Union and the result of the "review" was inconclusive so the "Call on the Field should stand as called as there is not enough evidence to overturn it"...
Personally I voted to stay but I suspect, now Dodgy Dave has screwed the pooch by bailing out we're going to go through a financially damaging period of protracted wrangling and then come out anyway to soothe Tory Pride ("We made a promise and we're going to keep it" kind off thing) By delaying they'll actually make the effect far worse and drag out the damage until a lot of us really suffer when, if there had been a competent exit stratergy in place, we'd have had a much shorter period of pain and come out, more or less, where we were before financially (just without the benefits of EU citizenship).
I didn't vote at all since I'm not Brittish and therefore had no say in this matter. But I can tell you that the freedom loving people all over Europe need you guys just as much now as we did in the 1940's… Where would we be without you and your former colonies USA, Canada and Australia??? UP SHITS CREEK!!! The UK is the foundation of Western Democracy! You should NOT leave! YOU should take CONTROL of the situation and you CAN'T do that if you LEAVE the EU! Where is the spirit of Winston Churchill??? "We shall never surrender!" It's a h_ll of a lot better to fight the c_cks_ckers in the EU Parliament than to fight them on "the beaches" as you/we once had to do… Only cowards run a way from a challenge and locks themselves in a closet! 48% of Brittish voters did not and they deserve MORE RESPECT than the 52% who did! They are P'Tahks!!! :-)

Lot's of great talk about rock drummers and Richard is never mentioned. And that's crap. He's great. As a kid i always couldn't wait for the gigs cause of that kick drum and it's volume.
I've been listening, only ,to this while answering E-mails, fucking hell that was hard as this music was so enjoyably distracting , Hawkwind despite the line up changes the spirit lives on, great stuff indeed, there really is no one else like them in our universe.
Groundbreaking - and the next 7 albums or so. Then they went on space rock autopilot, murdering great tracks like this...And they're on about album 42 of regurgitated drivel. What a shame. They were great in the 70s but when Dave Brock became Hitler and got rid of everyone who didn't conform they ended up sounding like a (poor) tribute band. Nik Turner's bands have that edge...Hawkwind should be my fave band, and if they'd stopped after Church of Hawkwind they would be.
I think I just found my new go-to video when I need to demonstrate to someone {durr aren't they that silver machine band herp derp} just how powerful and musical Hawkwind can be.
I have been lucky enough to see them live on at least eight occasions , each time I could have sworn that it was the best concert I'd ever been too . The energy and enthusiasm during their performances is has infectious as their music is enchanting , and rivaled only by Angus Young for his ability to maintain a constant high energy performance . Hawkwind are Masters of the Musicverse .

Have this on DVD somewhere! Cracking concert with Simon playing that electric violin, Hawkwind on all four cylinders are fantastic, would like to see Alan back in the band too.
I saw them at the Apollo in Manchester during this tour (1990). Got tickets to their 2018 tour (Leeds). First saw them a LONG time ago and plenty of times since. Taking my 19 year old nephew to see them after he mentioned he liked rock music. Looking forward to the show. Hopefully Pogol or someone as good will be doing the lighting etc. R.I.P. Bob Calvert. Lemmy Kilmister. Nik Turner. Dik Mik. Hugh Lloyd Langton. Amongst others now departed, but forever immortalised in music.
