Yeah it's a shame we never got one last real martial arts Tournament, the announcer said it himself, these budokai became what it was because of those fights but with confined rules and regulations. It gives fights a unique flavor and determined real skill over brute strength.
The buu saga vegeta softened up and only kills if it's a death match, in the tournament killing is prohibited and on top of that vegeta no longer believes in taking lives of the innocent.
I think 18 would be even more likely to make a deal with Mr. Satan. She knows for sure that she won't get past Goku or Vegeta, so obviously she would sacrifice this one match to let an oblivious Mr. Satan win.
Tien and Yamcha really should have been in this tournament they wouldn't have made it very far but at least it would prove they are still strong warriors.
Not only that but they literally made those later tournaments what they became, Yamaha vs tien was one of the best dragon ball fights EVER same with Goku and Tien
I feel that Goku would have used the final match to train Gohan much like Roshi did in the guise of Jackie Chun though let him ultimately get the win. After all Goku had already attained his goal of winning the tournament when it mattered most to him he'd likely want his son to feel that thrill but also show Gohan that he can't slack off in his training since he wouldn't be there to save the day all the time.
I think that if Goku and Gohan fought in the final match, Goku would use it to educate his son and give him one final training lesson; he would spur Gohan on like he does with Uub in cannon and their fight would be like it was in Super with Goku taking the lead and Gohan catching up as he's forced to bring out more power. Then Goku would remind Gohan that he left him protect the Earth in his place and advise him to find time to train along with studying while warning him that there could still be fighters much stronger than Spopovich that'll do much worse things to his girlfriend if he can't protect her. As their fight continued Gohan would understand Goku's lessons and would promise to keep on training to get stronger; Goku would then remind Gohan that he once said that he could be stronger than himself and proceed to show him his SSJ3 form which would shock everyone especially the Z Fighters, Shin & Kibito, Yamu and Spopovich while freaking Mr. Satan out. Astonished by this new power Gohan is then told by his father that if he had trained as intensely as he did during the 7 years he would have achieved this form since his potential surpasses Goku's. Goku would then demonstrate this power by throwing an attack into the heavens that would allow his son to sense the force behind it and be motivated to attain SSJ3. Goku would then power down to SSJ2 and decide to finish his fight with his son; the two would rush at each other for one final strike and Goku would throw the fight just like Roshi did with Tien. He would weaken his blow allowing Gohan's attack to knock him out of the ring and thus making Son Gohan the new Martial Arts Champion. Gohan would ask why his father did that and Goku would tell him pretty much the same speech he gave to Piccolo about why he decided to let Trunks and Goten defeat Buu instead of himself along with the advise he gave Gohan before he supposed rematch against Dabura in canon; Goku embrace his son and tell him to prove that he didn't pass the title of Champion for nothing before leaving for Otherworld(after spending the rest of his day with his friends and family that is if there's no Majin Buu saga.) Gohan would understand his father's lessons and assure him that he would make him proud.
I always felt a lack of closure in the Tournament arc. I'm kinda disappointed by the amount of cool fights we missed out on, especially Goku vs Gohan. Also I wish Piccolo would have at least tried to fight Shin and then have Krillin be the one to freak out. Thanks for this video.
I dont think that. In the future Bill and Whis dont make any atempt to revive Goku, altrough in the future Goku dies naturally. But Bills have no ideia who the Sayan God is, and i doubt that he have interest in dead people. So he will just go to earth and find Vegeta or Gonan, and then give up since there will be no morer sayan god.
@@sonofcronos7831 but goku was already dead before beerus woke up and the Oracle fish wouldn't tell beerus that or he would etheir way beerus is just to lazy. Also isn't he dead in the future
@@shadowart5763 he is dead shin died vs dabura so beerus died And yeah he would revive goku why ? Having a saiyan keep his body and be on the world of a kai is one thing but have literally have ONE saiyan missing for your ritual and that one powerfull saiyan you beated earlier is another Beerus out of curiosity would order whis to revive goku for the ritual
Post this what-if: Goku’s story: Shin actually goes to Goku and asks him if he wants to come train with him. Although the strength gap is astronomical, Goku takes his offer, and goes up to the world of the Kais. Soon, their training would lead Goku to pull the Z-Sword, although it is unnecessary, they all thought it would speed up his training further. Eventually, he breaks it, and Old Kai is freed. Old Kai thanks Goku, and offers the Ultimate form to Goku. Again, Goku thinks about this, and he accepts, although with slight regret, because he wanted to get it himself. Now you have Ultimate Goku, with the power of Super Saiyan 3 in his base form. Of course, the time passes by, and BoG begins with Goku being dead and stronger. Also, I think at that point he’d master Super Saiyan 3 and experiment with the Ultimate Form, trying to blend it with Super Saiyan. When Goku meets Beerus and Whis, he gets beaten by Beerus, however, it was a MUCH closer fight, with Goku using Super Saiyan 1 + the Ultimate Form. He’s still trying to master SSJ2/SSJ3 with Ultimate, because why wouldn’t he? BoG goes on like normal, until the SSJ God part. They actually bring Goku back, and he becomes the Super Saiyan God like normal. Goku is far stronger than what he was in the original story, and in Goku V Beerus Round 2, the fight is much closer, with Beerus outputting more power. Still, Goku takes the L, and goes on to train under Whis with Vegeta. Vegeta’s story: After being beaten by Goku for the final time, he accepts that Goku is the best fighter in the Universe, and instead of competing with Goku, he competes with himself, pushing him to higher levels of power. In BoG, there isn’t much changed, however, without the Majin power boost, I’d think he’s slightly weaker. After BoG, Vegeta decides to go with Goku and train under Whis like in the original. Vegeta would probably also ask Goku what the Ultimate form was, and since Vegeta has a rival again, I’d think he’d go after it too, and now, Goku and Vegeta are almost on even ground, with Goku edging him out because he can mix his forms together. And that’s really it, nothing else in my mind would change, other than our two Saiyans are much stronger, while everyone else stays the same, except the boys don’t learn Fusion and Gohan doesn’t get Ultimate.
Wasn't it explained somewhere in the series that (at that point in the buu saga), Goku would get very little if not no boost from the Elder Kai Ultimate powerup, due to the fact that Goku was already at and surpassing his maximum potential on his own?
Not too say he wouldn't still get a boost in the simple fact that he would be able to maintain SSJ3 levels of power at all times, since there would no longer be a time limit from stamina drain.
All the Z fighters still hated Mr. Satan at this point. They only know him as the grease ball who was a joke against Cell but still stole all the credit. It wasn't until Mr. Satan met Majin Buu that they all started thinking differently about him. No chance anyone lets him win a fight.
@@jsmithers. yeah but Goku’s not that kinda guy to pick on the weak he might tell mr.satan to jump off but I bet mr.satan would try and bet with Goku to after the tournament he gives Goku the money for his family so I believe that Goku would let mr.satan have the W
@@xantwanevolutionar9777 No Goku would just treat him like he did the weak fighters in the dragonball tournaments. Haven't you ever seen those? He'll just finish Mr. Satan in 1 quick and easy chop that puts him out cold. Even as an adult in dragonball Goku did this in the world tournament. Also, Goku doesnt care about money. Theres no way you can convince him to throw the tournament he came back from Other World for 1 day just to fight in...Fighting Gohan and Vegeta is all he wants here. Let's not also forget that even if Goku did throw it, Mr. Satan would just go on to fight Trunks and Goten.....Lol theres no chance they're going easy on him...Trunks already beat his ass earlier in the kids divison.
I think Vegeta would end up even angrier since there's no way they could have a proper SSJ2 fight in the tournament ring surrounded by all the spectators. One of them would fall off the ring while they're holding back to not kill anyone and Vegeta would be extremely unsatisfied, throwing a tantrum to get another fight. So, Majin Vegeta probably still happens.
I think both might of stayed Base. Maybe. Only for the fact that if both knew they both achieved SS2 the need to both go that far wouldn't be needed as their base forms would really shed light the most. Though I could see them stoping and giving a smile each and then going full power and taking the fight to the next level to finally see the extend.
I can pretty much imagine videl cheering when satan loses, though I think that this would motivate hercule to train even more than in the original to catch up to 18(even though we all know that he’ll never get there)
Man Gohan vs Goku would’ve been a legendary final match, such a shame we didn’t get it!! I wish the whole Buu stuff happened after the tournament ended, and everything was revealed then.
I can actually see goku doing something akin to what master roshi did in the 22nd tournament where he fights gohan just for fun getting his fighting sense back and then at the end just walk off the ring (or what would remain of the ring)
Gotta be honest from a thematic standpoint the tournament brackets are all messed up. It was obvious it was a ruse by Toriyama. I would re-arrange the spots so Goku and Vegeta is a semi-final bout and Gohan vs Goku is the final match. It would tell a better story. Also I would book it so Goku loses in the end. Have him transform into Super Saiyan 3 but make it so Gohan Rage allows him to last enough time for Goku to get tired and have him run out of stamina for Gohan to win in the end. It would be a good way to put Gohan over while showing him that there's always another ceiling of power to break. It would be a good way to transition Gohan into the main spot.
Imagine if Gohan won the tournament and returns to high school as the World Champion and he was the "gold fighter". I wonder how his classmates or the media would respond to that. I mean what would be more of a nightmare, taking on Buu or having high school kids and the media hounding you 24/7. I would believe Mr. Satan would try to get in on Gohan's popularity and say he did take him in as his student from the Cell tournament but trained him from a different approach than his other students. I mean he did something similar with Goten.
@@gohanson27 Yeah but it could go either way. Gohan probably would want to show how strong he is to videl and prove his strength to goku and vegeta and get a small rage boast that could slightly overpower him in my opinion
@@23dayslater95 Goku doesn't like losing. I think he would eventually train/fight Gohan but would eventually knock him out. But then again Goku loves Gohan, and Chi Chi would of told Goku to allow Gohan to win in front of Videl
@@gohanson27 thats also true. It would further improve he and videls relationship and treat the fight as training dragging it out as long as possible. Also chi chi would be more happy if gohan were to win the money and be more open to him training later down the road
If yamu and spopavich didnt intervene, I believe goku would train gohan for a moment but throw the fight to give you a bit of celebrity to gohan as a way to continue making an income to help Chichi and family.
Honestly, even if Shin is stronger than Piccolo I think Piccolo would pull out a win if they ever did fight. Shin is just too incompetent. Edit: and apparently I’m awesome, really wish Piccolo just took off his clothes when he was spat on.
I agree that Shin is too incompetent cause he’s not very good at his job. And I still think Piccolo would pull out a W if he didn’t forfeited. And I disliked that he was slowly becoming irrelevant and being a B player. I would’ve liked it better if he was still an A player along with Goku & Vegeta.
i love dragon ball but the anime just had it so that an alien half breed that trained really hard for a couple of years outclasses the guardian of the universe. Its like king kai saying he cant hold a candel against the saiyans
This is a fun video exercise... Their is no way in HFIL that the tournament lasts after Goku vs. Vegeta Goku: (Punches Vegeta as a SS2) Vegeta: IMMA BLOW UP THE RING!!
If goku went right back to other world for 4 years, goku would be an absolute beast, he probably would have dealt with ssj3's strain and would probably stacked kaioken on top of it.
Great video! I've always wondered what the outcome would be but never researched into it. I've also wondered what it would be like without the dark magic and the Supreme Kis not being there.
I honestly see it as more likely Mr Satan would spin it as letting the girl win or some fake and false chivalrous bull crap knowing he would have his ass handed to him like Vegeta in the Android Saga or himself in the Cell Saga.
I think 18 would still exploit Hercule. Even if she knew he wouldn't make it passed the next round. The man is still rich. Its not her problem what he does after their fight.
i don't think Hercule would have ended up giving 18 any money if he just ends up losing next round. I think he'd end up bankrupt & with no money to give, and then have been written off of the story, whether he loses to 18 or loses the round after. It's sort of a miracle that Hercule has lasted so long in the series
It could affect the super by Goku keeping his training in dead body which benefit him a lot, and Vegeta didn’t realize the flaw of SSJ 3. So Vegeta might achieve it in time chamber or ask fortuneteller baba to take him to another world to train with Goku. The event could make both them stronger. The series gonna be similar to what if Goku master SSJ 3.
I hope if and when Super gets to the 28th World Tournament we get a more fleshed out saga. Maybe instead of Goku rigging it so he fights Uub right away, they both have other opponents before facing off. Goku could still fight Uub at his strongest if they both just eat Senzu Beans. Goku giving Uub a special bean that restores his stamina might hurt Goku's approach at getting Uub mad at him to unleash more of his power, but it doesn't have to. Uub still has never met Goku, and for all he knows he only gave him the bean so he can have more fun beating him up or to gain his trust or something. I also hypothesize that soon [as I type this Super is on the Granolah Saga] Frieza will begin passively ruling his empire and have a son named Krieza. If this happened in the current age, by the time the 28th World Martial Arts Tournament rolled around, Krieza would be four years old. And considering this is Dragon Ball [and he belongs to an alien race] I would say he is totally old enough to be a warrior and compete in a potentially retconned tournament. Maybe he fights Uub, loses, and develops a rivalry. I'm also wondering if the character Nareg, whom Vegeta noted was very powerful and wondered if he was the reincarnation of Kid Buu, turns out to be the reincarnation of Cell, and maybe even becomes Vegeta's student. Nareg looks like he could be about 15 or 17. If he was either of those it would mean he was born not long after Cell died, meaning it didn't take long for him to repent in Hell. Considering how he had a shattering loss and who he is made of, I don't think it's impossible for Cell to have repented relatively soon after death. We already know villains don't necessarily take long to repent and reincarnate, just look at Uub. Unless King Yemma decided to be irresponsible, I feel like Kid Buu was able to repent before being reincarnated thanks to his simple mind and lack of a previous understanding of right and wrong. He was like a blank slate, so a short time in Hell did the trick. The only real favor Yemma did for Goku, I think, was having him reincarnate as an Earthling. All of that stuff could be entirely wrong, but I feel like at this point the original flash forward at the end of the Buu Saga is no longer canon. Some things will be different, so who knows how much or how little?
I don’t know if this is the first video Mike put up in a while, but it’s the first new one that I’ve seen in a while! Thanks, Mike! Nicely done as always! 😁
My thought would be that 18 would throw for Hercule at the price, and Goku and Vegeta would eliminate each other by ring out so Hercule gets a bye. Then he'd face Mighty Mask who would get exposed and get disqualified. Then Hercule vs Gohan where Gohan does his own fake fight to keep appearances up for Videl. Then, Hercule stays Champ.
Honestly I'm not so sure Goku would have beat Vegeta in the tournament, Goku was without question a bit stronger but Vegeta has far more drive and shown time and again to be a very calculating fighter and could pull out a win from a ring-out or other rule. Granted Gohan facing off against Goku in the finals certainly adds a poetic charm to the whole situation.
@@DerpaTure9503 I was emplying Vegeta was smarter than Goku not more skilled. As for Skills it matters in every arc up till dbz super, basics of martial arts and training, Kaioken, ki control, mastery of super Sayian instant transmission the list goes on.
@@DerpaTure9503 It was a 3v1 vs Raditz so its an example of superior numbers. But I can give plenty of examples. examples of skills beating power and or making the fight much closer then it should have been. Jacki Chun(Roshi) vs Goku - Goku was slightly stronger/faster but ultimately lost due to a lack of experience and Roshi's diverse move-set. Roshi ultimately won by baiting Goku into a head-on clash and he made use of his longer legs to win the fight. Android 18 vs Vegeta - Relatively equal fighters but 18 played into Vegeta's vanity and led him on a chase to drain his energy letting her mop the floor with him as a result. Goku vs Cell - The entire Arc was about learning to master Super Sayian and go beyond it but in this instance Goku was weaker than Cell but was able to put up a fairly even match due to his sheer skill, true Cell was holding back but Goku's instant transmission + Kamehameha would have killed Cell had it not ben for his insane regeneration. Super Buu vs Gohan - Gohan was mopping the floor with him but Buu making use of his absorption ability and planning managed to absorb Gotenks and turn the fight around.
@@DerpaTure9503 1) Yes are we are discussing skill, lets team up is hardly an inventive strategy. 2) And I gave you 3 examples of DBZ fights to pick from. 3) Yes, but they were relative to one another but 18 was stronger. 4) Would have killed any other Villain had from previous sagas. 5) Got stronger by utilizing a skill and manipulation to bait out Gotenks to absorb him in the first place.
@@DerpaTure9503 1) Their strategy was to grab his tail, Goku holding Radditz so Piccolo could charge up the special beam cannon was an act of desperation. Because Piccolos technique was incomplete and took far too long to charge. 2) All of which were valid you just refuse to accept them, but here is another for you. The very example you just used with Piccolo and Goku. Both Goku and Piccolo were much weaker then Raditz but by utilizing a potent Ki attack they were able to overcome the gap in power. 3) I mean I alluded to the fact 18 was stronger in my original post.... 4) Because its a combination technique that can be used at any point?? Simply because it failed to kill Cell doesn't negate its validity. 5) Buu would have been destroyed if he didn't have the ability to absorb people or failed to tricked Gohan into letting Goten and Trunks to use the fusion dance. That is skill.
Vegeta wouldn't wanna win with a ring out, just like his fight in dbs in the tournamet where he gets pissed when he's still in the fight due to a rule allowing him to stay after facing out of it when he fought the big robot chug chug dude
i think after that beerus would ask whis to revive goku for the super saiyan god ritual and i think either goku will get the form because gohan will have a family and won't have time to train with it.
I honestly don't see Vegeta having super saiyan 2 before the majin boost. Why? 1) Vegeta was pretty sure of himself until he witnessed Goku go Super Saiyan 2 and knew right then and there that Goku was stronger than him. That means a lot. That means Vegeta was carefully gauging Goku's base knowing he was stronger until he whipped out Super Saiyan 2 for a brief second. That means Vegeta felt he was as strong or stronger than Goku's base but as soon as he saw Goku's Super Saiyan 2 for just that moment he already knew he lost and the transformation is simply 100 times base. 2) We get a sense of the power scale of the magic of being a majin. Looking at Spopovitch, a character that is already in his prime at max output was completely and utterly outclassed by Hercule. Hercule is pretty much the strongest human on the planet who has not mastered chi. Spopovitch couldn't fly or manipulate energy but once he got the Majin Boost not only was he stronger than Hercule but also even stronger than Videl. That is a huge jump in new power for Spopovitch. Fast forward and use that same logic on Vegeta. If Majin Vegeta going Super Saiyan 2 ultimately ties him with strength with Super Saiyan 2 Goku then it means one of two things. A) Vegeta's base was vastly inferior to Goku's base or B) the majin boost has little to no effect to Vegeta and him giving up his soul was a bad decision and or bad writing because we know for a FACT that the way Vegeta is written he doesn't take hand outs and for him to take a hand out for just a little boost in strength doesn't seem like Vegeta at all. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk 😆
1: Nah, Vegeta isn't surprised at all that Goku goes SSJ2. He just says "oh, you can go Super Saiyan too?" What impresses him is when Goku goes full power in SSJ2, Vegeta knows at that point that his full power doesn't match up to Goku's. Vegeta is not surprised until Goku goes SSJ2. 2: What Vegeta ended up getting *was* only a small boost in power, and that's why it's so shocking. Normally Vegeta would never accept a hand out, no matter the amount of boost he would get from it, that said, I think Vegeta would be more reluctant to get a bigger handout than a smaller one. So this doesn't really help your point. How it is portrayed (that Vegeta achieved SSJ2 beforehand) is good writing, because it shows to what extent Vegeta was willing to go to have his duel with Kakarot, and how he was willing to go to an extreme just to close the small gap between them.
I think Goku would of beaten Vegeta by ring out. However due to the tournament and safety restrictions, they would do a proper rematch after the tournament away from people. Goku would advance to the finals with Gohan and let Gohan win after a decent fight/training session. Goku's dead so he has no reason or desire to win the tournament, so he would allow Gohan win and use the prize money for the family. Back to Goku and Vegeta, I feel Goku would win again due to his SS2 form being stronger than Vegeta's (no majin power up). Vegeta, while defeated, might be more accepting of it. However I don't think Goku would use the SS3 form due to the restraints in his 24 hour window and it would just crush Vegeta spiritually.
To be honest, I could see Goku using all his energy in the battle and ending up eliminated due to abandoning (since baba would come to take him to the other world again) and vegeta would go on At the end, I'd say Vegeta would beat Gohan since he hates the fact that Gohan has all the potential but just doesnt want to train Because Toriyama wouldnt give us the "Goku is stronger than vegeta outcome"
Nah. Remember Goku fought a stronger Majin Vegeta for a long time, using a lot more energy than he would have in a tournament ring, AND he fought Fat Buu as a SS3 for a while. Not to mention turning SS3 again, and fighting Yakkon on the ship. There's just no way Goku uses that same amount of energy against a weaker SS2 Vegeta in a tournament ring. Goku would definitely win but the battle would still be fun to watch.
I think Goku might choose to return to earth. It has been 7 years and no major threat rose up, and i think he might want to fight Vegeta again. This is of course complete speculation but i think it is at the very least plausable. Especially since Gohan will also be a worthy training partner with some help.
Yes, Goku would have won in the tournament, but not necessarily because he's stronger than Vegeta, but because Goku is much better at controlling his power than Vegeta, so of course Vegeta would ask him for a rematch where they could go all out.
What if goku killed the supreme kai when goku threatened the supreme kai if he didn't get out of the way of goku fighting vegeta then beerus would of felt it the pain & b gone if supreme kai got killed by goku just saying if there could b a video of that please
This story would've made more sense kinda. Goku SS2 form would've been enough to win the tournament. Dabura killing Yamu and Spopovich for failing and attacking the weak Z fighters would've made more sense. Dabura would've killed Pui Pui and Yakon for being useless. Vegeta still would've went Majin attacking SS2 Goku. Dabura would've attacked SS2 Gohan. Both battles would've ended in a draw. Buu would've been born. He would've ate Dabura and defeated SS2 Gohan and Shin. SS3 Goku would've fought Fat Buu and the fight would've ended in a draw. Buu still would've killed Babidi. Piccolo would've trained Trunks and Goten in the time chamber. Goku still would've taught them fusion. Hercule still would've turned Fat Buu good. Gohan still would've pulled the Z sword and got trained by Old Kai. Super Buu still would've been born. SS3 Goku, SS2 Gotenks, and Majin Vegeta would've attacked Super Buu. Buu would've absorbed SS2 Gotenks, and Piccolo, making the fight even. Gohan would've came and helped. Buu would've absorbed Gohan. Goku and Vegeta would've fused into Vegeta. They would've got absorbed. Buu would've ate everyone at the lookout. Kid Buu would've been born, destroying 🌎. The rest would've played out, like it did.
What happens next Beerus comes to earth for the ssg and without buu he more happy and enjoying the party, but still he want the ssg, so they ask the dragon which this would lead to 2 things A bring goku back Or B. Vegeta ask the dragon to bring his brother to earth....(TBC)
I disagree. 18 knows she can't beat Goku and Vegeta or Gohan either. She would still get a bigger payday from throwing the fight. I think she would just lower the price to 10mil or maybe even half that. Which is still better than no money.
If the team agreed to not go super saiyan(even though goten and trunks did it anyways), wouldn't android 18 win easily? Maybe he would go super saiyan during the fight. Who knows.
out of the whole saga outside of goku and vegeta fighting, the best fight was mighty mask versus eighteen. did not watch yet but if the tournament was uninterrupted goku would have smashed everybody. vegeta allowed himself to be possessed because he saw goku had an extra gear against yakkon plus he saw how much longer the magic could make an ordinary fighter so it would work wonders for him. unpopular opinion: dragon ball Z is a great show with iconic villains but the very best part about the show is the filler. .... now playing your video
Goku chose not to revived after Cell game tournament for them to have peaceful life. When he return just for that one day, Buu Saga interrupted mostly because of him than the Tournament itself.
I think Buu would still be revived - Just because Goku would have so much more energy than Gohan that it would basically fill the meter. I know skipping the Buu saga is very common in DB what ifs, because Buu being revived was due to some very uncommon things happening in succession, but this way we also get the Buu saga with Buu and the tournament. Best of both worlds!
Except gohan only turnt super cause piccolo told him to gohan said on the plane ride there that they shouldn't turn super cause people could recognize them from the cell games
I think the winner would have been the winner of the fight between Shin and whoever won fight 14 (18 V the winner of Goku and Vegeta), since they promised to not go SS and the winner would be decided by ring out, I doubt even Gohan would have gone SS. This is under the asumption that Shin and Kibito were acting on themselves and would follow after whenever stuff went down after the tournaments end.
Play Dragon Ball Z Tenkaichi 2 play what if saga world tournament till the end goku and Vegeta do fight in the ring but felt unsatisfied fight on there sacred grounds to see who is the best
Honestly, killing even being rusty in the boo saga wouldn't be flicked, this isn't anyone that were talking about, it's krillin he would likely lose still, but he would put up a good fight
Here's something to consider: What if Gohan returned to the Time Chamber BEFORE the World Tournament. Would he be able to regain at least some of the power he had back with Cell in time for the Buu Saga to begin?
Shin's plans would be screwed. Vegeta would actually find Gohan challenging and want to best him. Goku would be proud af that his son is still as strong as he once was (stronger). Gohan most likely wins against Dabura with miniscule effort and Goten gets stronger. Man would it be Hype if Vegeta and Gohan started training together.
I disagree that goku would have beaten vegeta with ease in the tournament because it's a tournament, vegeta would want to win by any means necessary to say that he goku in his own field. Remember as great a fight that goku is he still makes a lot of mistakes.
I feel like the Buu Saga would still continue by the time Gohan fights Dabura, as Majin Vegeta would get serious and becomes Majin Vegeta as the story continues. Even if the tournament is over, Goku and Vegeta would probably have a rematch without going SSJ3.
I don't understand why you'd partially think Piccolo would bow out to Supreme Kai due to the power difference? Piccolo has faced foes more powerful than him on numerous occasions
The fact is having Hercule/ Mr. Satan as the champion and public hero is the only way for Goku and the Z Fighters to keep their true power and backgrounds a secret the media would turn them into freaks over night and they would never get to have a normal life.
I would've had supreme Kai (or shin whatever you wanna call him) beat Gohan just so we could have supreme Kai fight Goku and yes I would have Goku beat supreme Kai
Most likely Goku would be revived by Whis to the request of Berrus for Goku to become a Super Saiyan God and I'm pretty sure that Gohan would tell his father that all threats aren't connected to him, leading him to be revived by the Namek Dragonballs to train Gohan and Goten to increase the power of the next generation further then canon.
Only thing i dont agree with is Goku destroying the mighty mask disguise, i think Goku would take full advantage of the fight to have a good time with goten/trunks, dont think he would want to disqualify them, just have fun then handily defeat them at the end.
I think that the fact that Goku was up against Vegeta in the first round already strongly suggested that the tournament arc would not last. It's unlikely that a tournament arc is going to have the main fight during the first round and still continue on to the finals. The main fight should be the finals or in rare cases at least come close to it.
If you consider really the only main contestants were Gohan, Goku, Vegeta and Shin (whose power was unknown at the time), then it's not that far-fetched.
Considering gohans own skills in reading how a fight goes on I'd see gohan winning considering goku was only able to beat gohan with supersaiyan blue with kaioken. I wouldn't underestimate gohan since he was the one to beat cell and you can see again in super how gohan fights even when blinded. It only shows gohan is always under estimated.
if gohan kills spopavich he's not going to the finals and would get disqualified. yamu tells babadi about gohan killing spopavich and we end up getting raged out majin gohan. now that's some fanfic shit
For me this "Tournament arc" would of been better that what we got and would lead into the buu arc really well imo.
Yeah it's a shame we never got one last real martial arts Tournament, the announcer said it himself, these budokai became what it was because of those fights but with confined rules and regulations. It gives fights a unique flavor and determined real skill over brute strength.
Nah, Vegeta heel turn was so good. Amazing character progression.
Personally I see Goku training Gohan and convincing him to actually take up the mantle of earth’s defender.
Gohan would stomp a mudhole in spovavitch. Like. To the point even vegetta would be wanting him to stop because the point has already been made.
And if Vegeta wants your to stop, that’s bad lol

@williamperese Not as brutal as Vegeta vs Frieza.
I think 18 would be even more likely to make a deal with Mr. Satan.
She knows for sure that she won't get past Goku or Vegeta, so obviously she would sacrifice this one match to let an oblivious Mr. Satan win.
Whatever would've happened, the real loser would've been the tournament ring.
Yes my dude
shhhh

I feel like after beerus wakes up he’ll call for goku and whis can just revive him and then the story plays out normally.

Having a saiyan keep his body and be on the world of a kai is one thing but have literally have ONE saiyan missing for your ritual and that one powerfull saiyan you beated earlier is another
Beerus out of curiosity would order whis to revive goku for the ritual
Post this what-if:
Goku’s story: Shin actually goes to Goku and asks him if he wants to come train with him.

The Z First should've done to Babidi and Dabura what Trunks did to them in Super.
Then Goku would've won.

Honestly, even if Shin is stronger than Piccolo I think Piccolo would pull out a win if they ever did fight. Shin is just too incompetent.

I too wish Piccolo got naked.

This is a fun video exercise... Their is no way in HFIL that the tournament lasts after Goku vs. Vegeta
Goku: (Punches Vegeta as a SS2)
Vegeta: IMMA BLOW UP THE RING!!
Goku: Vegeta, your cell is showing!
Vegeta and Goku fighting at SSJ2 would’ve destroyed that entire ring.
The series gonna be similar to what if Goku master SSJ 3.
this right here is the perfect thing to watch before fusion reborn.
Honestly I'm not so sure Goku would have beat Vegeta in the tournament, Goku was without question a bit stronger but Vegeta has far more drive and shown time and again to be
a very calculating fighter and could pull out a win from a ring-out or other rule.
@@DerpaTure9503
1) Their strategy was to grab his tail, Goku holding Radditz so Piccolo could charge up the special beam
cannon was an act of desperation. Because Piccolos technique was incomplete and took far too long to charge.
2) All of which were valid you just refuse to accept them, but here is another for you. The very example you just used with Piccolo
and Goku. Both Goku and Piccolo were much weaker then Raditz but by utilizing a potent Ki attack they were able to overcome the
gap in power.
3) I mean I alluded to the fact 18 was stronger in my original post....
4) Because its a combination technique that can be used at any point?? Simply because it failed to kill Cell doesn't negate its validity.
5) Buu would have been destroyed if he didn't have the ability to absorb people or failed to tricked Gohan into letting Goten and Trunks
to use the fusion dance.
I always wanted to know that! Thanks for doing this.
Don't need to overthink it. Vegeta admits it. He used the Babidi magic to get to that level.
Goku & Vegeta's battle would've destroyed earth..... That's if they decided to fight seriously which I'm almost certain that they would
This is like what The Tournament of Power would've been first
I love to see you continue off of this
The fights would have been way too insane for that ring to hold them.
To be honest, I could see Goku using all his energy in the battle and ending up eliminated due to abandoning (since baba would come to take him to the other world again) and vegeta would go on
At the end, I'd say Vegeta would beat Gohan since he hates the fact that Gohan has all the potential but just doesnt want to train
Because Toriyama wouldnt give us the "Goku is stronger than vegeta outcome"
They had a storyline for this in BT2
Another difference I see is that due to exertion goku would have even less time left of the 24hrs
Beerus would be dead as the Kai is linked to him.
Better question would be why Whis didn’t jump in, which is obviously a retcon because he wasn’t a part of the story back then.
He wouldn’t, that goes completely against his character.

I disagree. 18 knows she can't beat Goku and Vegeta or Gohan either. She would still get a bigger payday from throwing the fight. I think she would just lower the price to 10mil or maybe even half that. Which is still better than no money.
Great video man
If the team agreed to not go super saiyan(even though goten and trunks did it anyways), wouldn't android 18 win easily?
Woulda rather seen this than the Buu arc

Vegeta did not get super Saiyan 2 right there he's applying that Goku broke through the wall just like Gohan
I bet Goku would have used up all his time on Earth and so whoever he fought in the final would win by default
No more Ultimate Gohan then... but he was only relieved for half an arc for Z, and a little bit more shine in The Tournament of Power.
I predicted Goku vs.Gohan in the Finals.
Yes if he went into with piccolo
Shin's plans would be screwed. Vegeta would actually find Gohan challenging and want to best him. Goku would be proud af that his son is still as strong as he once was (stronger). Gohan most likely wins against Dabura with miniscule effort and Goten gets stronger.
Man would it be Hype if Vegeta and Gohan started training together.
He’d regain that power and more
I disagree that goku would have beaten vegeta with ease in the tournament because it's a tournament, vegeta would want to win by any means necessary to say that he goku in his own field. Remember as great a fight that goku is he still makes a lot of mistakes.
In this scenario though I would’ve thought that krillin would get his energy absorbed
Haven't watched the video yet, but this is how I think it goes.
Anyone who fights Goku gets wrecked, except Hercule
Feel like Hercale will talk his way to win the tournament. Since half of them don't care about the money.
@Sun Wu-Entai 90 true but if could talk 18 like that, it probably he could do the same with them.
@Sun Wu-Entai 90 when it say they was tired of his lies? I was the show alot and read the manga. Never hear them say it.
Such a great video thank u mike!!
8:39 . I’m awesome.
I think piccolo is stronger than supreme kai, and withdrew bc of him sensing godly ki.
Before I get into the video, I'm calling it shin v goku in the finals.
I was looking for this what if for time
Only thing i dont agree with is Goku destroying the mighty mask disguise, i think Goku would take full advantage of the fight to have a good time with goten/trunks, dont think he would want to disqualify them, just have fun then handily defeat them at the end.
Nah I see Gohan beating Goku in an upset styll
I think that the fact that Goku was up against Vegeta in the first round already strongly suggested that the tournament arc would not last. It's unlikely that a tournament arc is going to have the main fight during the first round and still continue on to the finals. The main fight should be the finals or in rare cases at least come close to it.
If you consider really the only main contestants were Gohan, Goku, Vegeta and Shin (whose power was unknown at the time), then it's not that far-fetched.
Piccolo would have killed that suprime Kaiser. Really bugged me that he didn't molly whopp that fool
Maybe Gohan continues to train after this saga ans becomes the SSJ God, when they bring back Goku to help for the ritual
nothing would really change =/
