Walter’s a Handsome Puppy Dog. 👍 He said Dad, I’m just Glad you take me out to See the trains because it sure beats being left at home waiting for your Return. 😬👍
Red you can run classic plates on that F150😆. I love your still rocking it, they definitely don’t make ‘em like they used too. Never buy anything 2020 or newer, it’s nothing but lack luster quality and problems with these ‘Cvirus’ era vehicles. Buy something pre 2020, I’m telling you quality is guaranteed better. Anyway 3 SD75I’s, an SD70M-2 and a Dash 9💪🏼, pretty healthy power. Love them Iowa Northern Geep 38’s! And not to mention them rare SD38-2’s! Awesome drone shots Red, I swear you got the best train videos on YT👍🏼😁🇺🇸🎄
Thanks a lot STRETCH LIMO! My Dad bought that truck new in 89'. I recently replaced pretty much the whole body. Still cheaper than a newer truck. I like early 2000s vehicles, it's all about the rust here in Iowa. The CN yard had a nice variety of power that day👍🇺🇸💪
Another great video, both on the ground and in the air.........i saw a video of the "other" C&NW today, its a soon to be abandoned subsidiary of the former Southern Railway. Its the "Carolina and North Western"!
@@redsiowatrainvideos6645 the engine that was shown was an Alco RS-3 that looked like the long hood had been raised to accommodate a different prime mover, and it was painted in the old Southern freight diesel colors. So, no copycat!
Thank you for catching the Canadian National's L571 on 5 November 2022, Red! That was a long train with all that power on the front. The drone footage of the Canadian National's Waterloo Yard was an effective way to see the size of t of the yard.
That's certainly was one of the bigger CN freights with five units as it was mixed up front but then a solid ethanol train to drop off down the line along with the power for it. First time in a while Iowa Northern was all GP38s no used Amtrak power or slugs. Always good to see the EJ&E units even if they look tired and yeah the yard sure got jammed up. Your angle was fantastic looking at the Grain Train on the left mixed Freight on the right and that group of ethanol cars straight down the middle. Kind of a railroad sized Thanksgiving turkey Wishbone. Good old Walter looked happy because he was with you and no yipper dogs to bother him. Take care
Thanks Paul B! I liked how the sun shined on those tankers as they rounded the corner. I found out those old Amtrak units have higher amperage than the GP38s. You see them when the Iowa Northern uses the slugs. I'd like to catch the turntable in action sometime at that yard. Walter is always up for a train chase!
Great catches Red , the drone view of the CN yard was fantastic . I bet back in the day it was really busy there, would you know how long they use the grain cars ? some of them have seen better days. Thanks for the great videos you do.
You're welcome David! Yes I'm sure the old IC days were busier. Glad they at least still use the turntable. I think a lot of those Iowa Northern cars are close to 40 years old. Supposedly they can only go up to 50 years old.

Yes Ken, my dogs are pretty lucky! They don't even flinch at the train horns😁
Hello Walter 😂 Railway Dog . Great yards Red and video 👍🏻 . Drone 👍🏻 be safe . Robin out 🇺🇸🇨🇦 . See ya later Walter 👍🏻.
Yo Robin! Walter is a railway dog for sure. Horns don't seem to bother him much. See ya🇺🇸👍
Outstanding drone footage over the CN Waterloo yard!! Well done, sir!

Cool yard action from the drone Red. Impressive lashup on that CN L571 as well. Good one Red.👍🏼

Nice bit of CN Power there Red! Looks flamin cold out, sure! Great shot of the yard in drone mode! Thanks mate! 👍
You're welcome Fox Mulder! The real cold is yet to come. We get down to 20 below zero sometimes!!
@@redsiowatrainvideos6645 Man, I cannot imagine such low temps. We only get to low 30s in Winter and I still don't like it. #Gloves'n"Hats! LOL. 😄👍
Superb shots and video Red!
Thanks Darryl!!

You're welcome Thomas! The old CN L571 gets kinda long at times👍
Awesome video, the drone yard action was the best. Thank you Red.
You're welcome Dan!
Nice to see your dog! Good lighting effects on the tankers in the setting sun.
Thanks Frau! I liked the sun on the tank cars too👍
That's one loooong oil can. Nice catch thanks.
You're welcome AFJ!
Nice catches!
Dad worked at the roundhouse/backshop for 27 years, said there was once over 40 machinist/20 some electricians working there at one time.
The two (2) Canadian Railroads don’t care how Dirty their Units looks because the Train Wash up North froze up a long time ago and it broke. 😬👍

Yup,those 3000hp 4 axle units like to wheel slip. Just pulled a slug(not in service yet)in for work yet today
Amazing video!.. really good job man!.
Thanks 925 Trackside!
Cool video, Red. Thanks 👍. 😊
You're welcome Gary!
Great video once again Red! I enjoyed the CN yard drone work. I'm going to try and get some drone video of some trains here in SC on the CSX Aline.
Thanks John A! The drone sure does help on that remote stuff👍
Great catches there man!
Thanks Random Railfan!
What a great video
Thanks just me!
Man I love that drone footage! That is a huge yard. Did I see a turn table at 12:25?! 🤔
Glad you dig it Brandon! Yes, that is a turn table and they still use it👍

great video
Nice video as always. Sounds like the CN train notched up in power as it was approaching you? Least that’s what it sounded like.
Thanks Matthew! Not sure if they were powering up there. I know the speed is usually around 30 mph when they hit the detector.

@@redsiowatrainvideos6645 Oh ok thanks have always wondered how long they can be used.
Have you ever been to Red Oak, IA?
Yes, rode Ragbrai there one year. Haven't caught any train action there.
Have you done any filming by general mills in cedar rapids they got the main line and crandic close together
No I haven't Zak. I'll put it on my list. Been by there a bunch of times.
@@redsiowatrainvideos6645 u just gotta be careful with the drone since it's not far from airport
@@zaksmith3163 Yep my drone won't even fly if it's too close to the airport. Should be far enough away on the,North end of town.
@@redsiowatrainvideos6645 I work on the other side of the tracks definitely not a shortage of trains
