I enjoyed the actionon the Union Pacific mainline in eastern Iowa, Red! That was a long double stack train going slowly across the Union Pacific swing bridge across the Mississippi River at Clinton, Iowa. Thank you for showing us the former CNW Tipton Subdivision that went southward from Stanwood, Iowa. What was that black oval to the north of the tracks in Stanwood, Iowa? That must be the berth location for the "River Boat Twilight" excursion boat that runs from LeClaire, Iowa up to Dubuque, Iowa in the warmer months of the year. (Posted on 19 January 2025 at 1749 CST.)
@thomasmackowiak Glad to hear it Thomas! That track at Stanwood is probably an all weather track for the school. Sounds like the UP still uses part of that Tipton Sub track for equipment.
Great action. I like when you shoot from different locations. Great look at the Mississippi River. That bridge must be reduced speed. Anyway they could slope the new bridge a little at a time to not have a swing bridge. That double stack was awesome. The l571 had great power. Thanks Red.
I love Clinton. I had the pleasure of chatting with one of the bridge tenders earlier this year. I thought that depot was the CB&Q depot? I think that was the train from Portland to Chicago. ZBRG2 maybe? Thanks for the video!
Goodness gracious Red!, sure was a LOT of squalling coming from that monster stack train! With IANR in CN now, a lot more opportunities opened up for drone wiews!
long one on bridge! Is there a speed limit on bridge because don't move quite like the uP express west? what's that orange domed building at the 14 min mark? Reactor? Amazing that swinging bridge works as all that steel and temperature contraction/expansion. I know in NJ there's a way small RR bridge and they hose it down with water to fight the expansion. thanks

@roballen5670 Thanks Rob! I'd like to fly over that abandoned wye again👍
If that bridge could talk I wish they would restore the depo and turn it into a museum
@zigman1975 For sure! Such a variety of traffic and I'm sure barge collisions. Be nice to see that done to the Depot.
Always look forward to your videos, Red!
@karengunia5451 Thanks Karen!

@chuxproductions1090 Thanks CHUX! Yeah long trains and cold hands. Come on Spring👍
Walked around the Clinton sub while delivering a dry van load. Lots of intermodals rolling thru there. Great video!

@georgearchambault6185 You're welcome Arch man! Boy that thing was probably close. Took forever at that speed.

@joebidenbites1015 You're welcome JBB! I'm sure there's a speed limit on the bridge. That dome stores coal for a power plant at ADM.
Iowa Northern is no more, the CN buyout has been approved!
@@paulsmith5398 I heard that.
