@@DH-xm3hcold people playing old music for other old people, I'm glad you have hope but this is not the future of music. This is one of the last big touring bands like this we will see. I imagine TTB will be the last ones standing.
Yes, love this band so much! I saw the film of their epic gig at the Jazz/blues festival of Vienne, in southern France (July 4, 2014) when it aired on TV the next year - had nevr heard of them before but I knew on sight that this was a unique band, the kind that comes along once in a generation! That show has been rebroadcast on TV (the Mezzo channel) several times and is also uploaded to TH-cam. I can't recommend it highly enough, it's a testament to the wealth of talent in the band and their ability to pull it off as a seamless unit. They are in some sense the missing link between several legendary 1960s/70s acts and genres - The Band, Derek and the Dominoes, Allman Brothers Band of course, The Crusaders, soul legends like Curtis Mayfield, Wilson Pickett and Dionne Warwick; soul, funk, country, southern rock and blues - but they are alive and working here and now, and of course putting a huge chunk of their own into the stew. Fantastic band! 💗
@@jerbear7952think I get your point but these guys are still writing and recording original music and they continue to sell, out wherever they play, and not just to old folks. True they’ll never be mainstream but am hopeful they’ll inspire new musos to take up the baton and run with it against the tide of so much over produced studio pap 🙏🤷♂️
Just WOW !!! I'm a huge Billy Gibbons fan, great to see Jimmie Vaughn on stage as well!! Tedeschi Trucks Band hits on all cylinders--- incredibly tight group !!!
Just love this Band ! Derek and Susan have best rhythm section, best horn section, best backing vocals, Virtuoso guitar and Vocals, great guest artists and play the best music! Jax native too, so proud of all of you!
I heard Freddie King play that at the Armadillo HQ. backs in the early/mid 1970s. Gave me chills, as does this version. Great musicians and artists all around. Thanks for posting.
Saw Freddie do this at Mother Blues in Big D.Sometimes we would get out at 5:am.Freddie lived about 5 minutes from the club. The 70s were a great music era.

Yes, they seamlessly unite the sound of several vintage genres and bands (often from the 1960s/70s, the classic age of soul and southern rock) and merge it with their own sound. Truly the kind of band that comes along once in thirty years within a given genre.
My thoughts also! Not a huge ZZ Top fan but Jimmie, Derek & Susan I have seen several times. Props to D & S for merging their bands together several years ago. I miss Kofi’s musicianship and infectious smile. The world was a better place with him in it.
Great tribute to Freddy. I think Leon Russel wrote that one for Freddy King. If I remember correctly. It was a huge hit in Texas and surrounding states. It’s been widely recorded by various artists.
Bugs Henderson was mentored by Freddy King. I recommend looking him up. He was a Dallas guy too. Great guitar player. Freddy had influenced a lot of players. Eric Clapton said he knew how to play guitar b4 he met Freddy. But Freddy taught him how to make love to one. @@sammccue500
What a line up ! Such talent ! Not taking away from the other talent on stage.. but Gibbons and Trucks are two of the best blues guitarist alive today !
First time I ran into this band was sometime after I first heard angel from Montgomery. I'd heard John Prine and was looking for other songs that he wrote found this song recorded by Bonnie Raitt. The next time I looked it up I saw there was a cover by Tedeschi Trucks Band . There was no comparison I don't know her name but the lead female singer just blew away Bonnie Raitt. An incredible blues singer
@@ejohn8733 Her name is Susan Tedeschi. She is married to the phenomenal Derek Trucks on lead guitar. Susan had a solo career for years and Derek was in the Allman Brothers for a while until they thankfully decided to form a band together. Check out her early solo stuff. It's also amazing!
Saw them on TV in 2015 (a live gig from a jazz festival in France, filmed the year before) and knew on sight that this band was one of a kind. Priceless - when their debut album came out, one reviewer correctly stated that "Tedeschi and Trucks are now fronting the best soul/blues rock family revue band since Delaney & Bonnie".
Since he was a kid, everyone always seems to just love to play with Derek. Every great musician he’s played with, and there are ALOT(his love of collaborations with the greats is becoming legendary itself!!), all seem to love him. They all look at him with great admiration. Oh Man! How I wish I could have been at this show! Now this is it! I love the Tedeschi Trucks Band but Billy and Jimmie oh man oh man! 🎸👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🔥🔥🔥🙌🏾 This is what I needed today!
No greed here, seems like every kinda artist they need, they get them, costs a lot of money to keep a group like that on the road AND off the road, but Susan and Derek don't compromise. This is a brilliant tight unit, love them. 👏👏❤️
Didn’t care for Billy’s tone, not his signature, but have loved his music since 1977, nice to see Jimmy playing always seems to be a class act has the style to be respected. And of course Derrek and Susan what can you say total respect love listening to anything they play. Thanks for posting and letting us enjoy this incredible talent love from Alaska
