This Has got to be the best rendition of going down I've ever heard. I knew Daryll Trucks briefly when we both started playing guitar as kids. He is from Orlando Fla. as I am. I started playing a couple years before I heard him play. He was only 11 years old but back then if you were good and his Dad was always with him they would let you play open mic nights and at that time there was a famous club called Fern Park Station. Every great band played there at some point during the 1970s. God that makes me feel old! But Trucks played there alot when he was a teenager. What blew us all away was that he had only been playing for a year and he totally blew all of us away! From the very first time we heard him we all knew he would become famous. He was a super nice kid.really humble. I don't think he would remember me but I will always remember him.

Ah maaan thanks for sharing that, what an HONOUR to have seen him when he was first starting out. What a sight that must’ve been??.. He could’ve fizzled out after opening for Clapton so young and having so much hype with being connected to the Allman Brothers Band through his uncle.. imagine playing with BUDDY GUY by 13, opening for Clapton at 15, and playing with Dylan and touring with so many big names all before you’re twenty??? Where do you go from there so young?? If that was me I would’ve at least taken a couple years off and just focussed on getting laid…I’m sure the list of young prodigious talent like him is longer than you’d think, pressure, drugs, women etc could’ve eaten him up at such a young age, but for him I can only assume it was ALWAYS just about the music. For him to become what he did, so inventive, so unique, he was literally born to be a musician…. Hey who says nothing good ever came out of Florida???

Truck's slide work in this song, and most songs he plays for that matter is a thing of beauty. Watching him play slide is almost like watching a hybrid experiment of what it would've sounded like to have been able to fuse the slide work of Duane Allman & Johnny Winter together.

Talk about four bad ass living legends playing together, I have always been a huge fan of these walking histories of the blues. Each bringing his own unique style of delivering the blues. One bringing out the best in the other. I saw respect and admiration in the eyes of these masters as they experienced the best that the other had brought to the stage. Kinda stuff legends are made of, isn't it?

all of the guitarists that are in this video did a great job, don't know where the disenttion in the ranks crap came from , as it is not apparent in this video, if JB and DT have animosity towards each other , its not apparent here, so what , they don't look at each other , that means jack, all of them got the groove going here, bigtime ,and all the naysayers should post vids of themselves playing this same song , so that all here on this forum can compare apples to apples, i'm sure the naysayers will have more than a couple of bruises on them, so in short put up or shut up, what was showcased here were 3 different guitar styles , all of which complimented this classic blues/rock anthem, all in all great job done by 3 great lead guitarists.

Malcolm Forbes agreed. It’s kinda funny how people make assumptions about two guitar players who have traded countless licks on countless stages over the years. There’s no animosity. Just internet dwellers trying to find drama where there is none.

All three of these guitarists are terrific, and I truly enjoy seeing and hearing the different styles on stage together. Others who aren't in this video are also amazing.

Michael, it doesn't surprise me that BB King said that. Joe is awesome. Also, check out the video of BB with Derek Trucks, Susan Tedeschi, and John Mayer. Listen to how BB talks about Derek. BB is funny and "adoring" (gotta see the vid, if you haven't.) As I've said before, every one of these guys is amazing. I won't knock any of them, in order to pay a compliment to another. Just enjoying the hell out of listening and watching them. Hoping this link will post to the video I mentioned. th-cam.com/video/z4zapXPrWt0/w-d-xo.html
