Our friends met them and talked with Derek and Susan for an hour and said they’re JUST as you’d expect them to be. The kindest souls on the planet. Both very shy!!! I was so happy to hear they were so nice to our friends and not divas. (Our friends are huuuuge fans! Lol)
Adam Churvis he is as nice a person as you would ever want to meet. No star trip. Just a regular outstanding human being. His music reflects his personality. Soulful, real and something you can easily understand.
See ‘em live if you haven’t already! Of course the music is basically a sacrament, but it was well worth it even just to watch Derek lead the band, and especially the way he’d showcase the other fabulous musicians and his wife. So awesome! I wish there was a video on TH-cam that showed his stage leadership better.

And slide guitar playing is a whole different ball game to 'straight' guitar playing, it's almost a different instrument and if you listen carefully it's played almost like a violin! It's pretty rare with most mainstream bands, especially the last couple decades, but I can think of a ton of bands that crush it live and are so so in the studio (grateful Dead being the absolute biggest example)
God is working in this band.. truly this is beautiful music for us all and each I listen to this tune I can feel his presence. Wish I was there live standing with that huge crowd but I was, I was in a delivery truck (fedex) on a fresh lay of snow on a country road on a blue sky calm day.. 1st one on the road making new tracks and heard this on my radio as I was inside the cab.. I was melting from it. Perfect timing and was staring at wild turkeys, golden and a bald eagle flying above me, the deer and elk grazing without jetting off into the woods... since then my life enlightened better and have a new band to do my Art work with...

They actually sound better live than in studio versions of the same song. Very few bands left that really are as good as their recordings would indicate.
I disagree only because in the studio version the way the horns come in the mix at the end, gradually getting louder to just one of the best peaks of jam/groove/tightupinthepocket Good music.

I've watched/listened to this a hundred times or so. It is currently my "go to" track. Tonight I noticed what an awesome job the video editing and camera work is. Great close ups, great stadium shots ... The music is awesome, the performance is flawless, but I want to tip my hat to the A/V crew who captured so many magic moments so gracefully .... 👍
To me, an old English guy with a love of Jazz, The Blues and Sixties Soul this song is the ultimate pleasure. Susan’s voice ever powerful and emotional. Dereks guitar work is so fantastic, the complete band are just THE BEST. I have some of their albums, including their Moon project on vinyl and also some CDs . Incredible band, long may they reign
Heard this song in a restroom at a bar 4 years ago, shazamed it and it got me through probably the toughest time in my life. Living in nyc it resonates but that guitar solo and bass of this version hit my soul.

There really aren't words for how incredible this is. Derek's solo tells the story of the mood, the feel, and the raw emotion of this song with only notes. Like an opera when you can't understand the words, but know exactly what they're "saying".....this whole band nails this flawless performance......yet Derek is the main storyteller in the end.

Lots of versions of this on TH-cam but I think this one is the best. Susan's voice is incredible here and the band sounds like a combination of rock 'n roll and gospel.
These videos are the best I've seen in the last 15 or 20 years and it's new music that is happening right now. Susan got a great voice and she's a new Englander to boot. Susan, trucks and warren Haynes are my favorite new group that is happening right now.
john layden I saw Gov’t Mule and Tedeschi-Trucks both within about 3 months of each other. I even met Warren and Matt Abts backstage, but I have to say that Tedeschi-Trucks was the better show. Warren’s jam band days are catching up with him, lots of obvious mistakes.

Great close ups, great stadium shots ... The music is awesome, the performance is flawless, but I want to tip my hat to the A/V crew who captured so many magic moments so gracefully .... 👍
To me, an old English guy with a love of Jazz, The Blues and Sixties Soul this song is the ultimate pleasure. Susan’s voice ever powerful and emotional. Dereks guitar work is so fantastic, the complete band are just THE BEST. I have some of their albums, including their Moon project on vinyl and also some CDs . Incredible band, long may they reign

Heard this song in a restroom at a bar 4 years ago, shazamed it and it got me through probably the toughest time in my life. Living in nyc it resonates but that guitar solo and bass of this version hit my soul.

There really aren't words for how incredible this is. Derek's solo tells the story of the mood, the feel, and the raw emotion of this song with only notes. Like an opera when you can't understand the words, but know exactly what they're "saying".....this whole band nails this flawless performance......yet Derek is the main storyteller in the end.
Best version of the best song in the band's repertoire. One of my close friends was at this Crossroads Festival. He said this song was almost magical.

I want him back in Detroit, but hes stayn clean in Virginia. So i want him there, even though i miss him so. It seems to be working. So baby, stay as long as you need 2 beat that 😠. My son is also addicted to opiates . They are hell for the people on them and just as much so for the people that love them and have to just sit and watch them literally destroy everything good in their lives and there is not a damn thing you can do about it . The only thing I can say to you is don't let him take you down with him , you deserve Love and Happiness and don't ever forget that . These videos are the best I've seen in the last 15 or 20 years and it's new music that is happening right now. Susan got a great voice and she's a new Englander to boot. Susan, trucks and warren Haynes are my favorite new group that is happening right now.

I saw Gov’t Mule and Tedeschi-Trucks both within about 3 months of each other. I even met Warren and Matt Abts backstage, but I have to say that Tedeschi-Trucks was the better show. Warren’s jam band days are catching up with him, lots of obvious mistakes.
