I saw this shelf on Pinterest and I really liked it, the very idea that a shelf for magazines and books could stand on the floor and not hang on the wall.
Alder is pleasant and easy to work with hand tools. Despite the fact that I did not use abrasive materials, the oil was absorbed like a sponge, although I expected the opposite effect, since after planing the surface of the wood is very smooth. The finish is as usual for me - tung oil.
Thank you for watching my videos, Sincerely, Yurii.

I watch a variety of videos when trying to learn something specific, but your videos are the only ones that I watch for enjoyment. Awesome pieces and great, calming videos. Love those chisels, too.
I love that you show a little of the inspiration and design process, because you've inspired several of my most recent projects!
Thank you so much! That makes me so happy to hear that my work is inspiring others!🤗
Lo mismo digo.
A piece of art! ❤
I love this channel its pure cinematic woodworking ASMR. That chiselling round the corner was excellent
Yeah. Love the way he did the kickplate too.
Hello, Yurii! I'm happy to see that you've been making your latest pieces with a little more care for the wood. Your work is beautiful and inspiring. Keep it up, we have a lot to learn from you!!! thanks!
very soothing to watch and calming to the soul to see such beautiful work with very skillful artist such as yourself ,im truely inspired.
Very nice build. Clifton makes a nice tool. And the chisels-- sweet.
Truly the GOAT in relaxing videos with amazing handtool woodworking!! Love your channel! (ps. thanks for making the start of my day awesome!)
I’m always impressed by how sharp your tools seem to be. The shavings on the No 4 ½ and the chisels shaving end grain effortlessly. Have you done a video on your sharpening process? Id certainly be interested to see it.
Couldn't agree more! I was marveling at the same thing
Very nice! Great work, as always. Take care to you and your family.
Thank you! 🙏

Thank you! Happy New Year to you too😊
Outstanding.
Definitely got some skills there my friend, excellent execution.
Great work and video. Definitely appreciate and clean and timeless design.
Also nice to see a fellow woodworker / cyclist! ( assuming that’s your bike in the video )
Beautiful magazine stand, beautiful photography. Keep safe and have a good year 2025!
Your skill at both woodworking and videograhy is impressive. However the long point on the pencil blows my mind. 😂.
I enjoy viewing your videos. You are able to make beautiful diy projects using hand tools. But may I suggest to shorten your video presentation to 20 minutes or less.
Hadn't noticed you were left handed until I saw you drawing
I noticed it when he shoots to the left side of the shooting board
This looks fantastic and your skills are impressive. Also, video quality is outstanding. Thank you for sharing.
Bravo, yet again! You have excellent taste in furniture styles and the ability to bring them to life. Your plane and chisel work are wonderful. Clearly you have wonderful tools, however, I would be interested in how you achieve such a sharp edge. What technique(s) do you use to get your edges so sharp, and how often do you sharpen/hone/touch up the edges to create such beautiful surfaces. Maybe just include a bit of sharpening in each video, rather than a sharpening tutorial as there are many of those already. Regardless, thank you for sharing your skills.
Great Job Yurii, it is really nice to see you make the whole process and understanding how other woodworkers face their projects. Keep going!!. By the way, from where is your block plane with brass sole? It is really beautiful!
Is the one that you made from wengue and you added a brass sole?
Absolutely beautiful.great video as always
Very nice work. Health and happiness in the new year!
Beautiful work like always. Happy New Years to you and your family
Sehr schöne und tolle Arbeit.
Wow! Beautiful!
This is one of your best videos yet. Congrats! Lots of really beautiful shots.
Also, is that a 4 1/2 or a 5 1/2 plane? Hard to see the number 😅
Loving the content, thanks for sharing.
Excellent bookcase and another great inspiring video. Stickley as well as Green&Green are some of my favorite and challenging designs. Thanks Yurii ! Pinterest is great for inspiration on projects. I have many years experience with power routers but that Veritas router plane is very accurate, fast and definitely one of my most satisfying hand tools to use. I’m wondering, did you use a flat or curved base spoke shave to smooth out the bottom shelf cross piece curve ? …
Very nice! Perfect video!
Beautiful!
perfect
Beautiful 😁
I was just bingeing on your videos earlier today! Perfect timing! I was wondering what brand dividers you use, I've been looking for them but haven't had any luck....
hello Yurii wonderful work as usual.
I have several question on this one (sorry i m sure many people asked already).
You used to use fish glue and seem to rely more on industrial product recently, is it convenance of use, or did you had some glue failure?
what finish are you using? the final product looks like shellac, but seem to apply a very heavy first coat, more in an oil finish way.
Great work! I too get some of my inspiration from websites, pictures and anywhere I travel. Sincere question…where did you get your tape measure? I love it.
I really admire and respect your work. What a craftsman! What brand is your open reel tape measure?
szuper
I like your tape measure. Where did you get it from? I also like your videos quite a lot. I don't just watch for the tape measure.
Hello, excellent videos, what is the name of that tool you use to make recesses in the wood. As if it were a milling machine. Thank you!
I had to pause the video when I saw your bike......seriously slammed. my back started to ache looking at it.😬
You need to camber slightly your iron to leave a good surface finish, for me putting my fingers on one side then another while sharpening with my jig work good enough
Besides your skill and patience I notice u really don’t nee3d a dust collection system. Less is more for you and I commend you. Peace.

Where I can find that measuring tape?
So beautiful! Anybody know the type of wood used here?
Alder.
@@gr_woodworking Thank you! Also, very embarrassed that I missed it in the title 🤦♂
👋👍
What is your number one woodworking belief: patience? sharp tools?
what is the name of your roll up tape measure?
BMImeter
Nice work but why the need for the daft music accompanying? Let your work and the sound of the tools speak for themselves.
@philclennell the classical music improves his AI standing whereby more viewers - like yourself - watch the vid further increasing how much he's compensated by TH-cam
The intermittent music is nice.
I mean... he's literally been doing it for years with amazing success. Might I suggest watching something else?
