It was great seeing you do a tune-up on your new-to-you No. 78, Yurii. I kept waiting for you to pull out a bench grinder with a wire wheel on one side and a fiber wheel on the other. Some of these TH-camrs love to make them shine. 🤣 Great job making shavings! 👍🍻
Peace be upon you. I congratulate you on the fruit of your life together. This child is very beautiful and beautiful. I enjoyed seeing these pictures. I wish you happiness, joy and good things.🥰😍😘
Lovely restoration, and a great edge on the blade too, I bought one on Ebay that was far cleaner than your's. So I only had to fettle the blade a little bit to nice & sharp, isn't it Lovely when everything is as smooth as silk and a beautiful clean shavings. Great job Sir. Cheers Les.

Well done. Restoration as well as the videography. I also restored a No. 78 but mine was not that rough when I got it so it more of tune up than a restoration. I don't have a fence or depth stop either. The depth stop never bothered me much but the fence would've been nice to have. They work beautifully ad it looks like yours is ready for another 100 years of service.
Wow oh wow! I love this restoration on a beautiful plane such as this. You have done an amazing job on this beautiful plane. Yesterday I scored one on Facebook marketplace in my rural area and this morning I came across this video. You have inspired me to start restoring mine.
Nice plane ! Sad that you lack the fence though... Currently making a krenov style shooting plane cuz im tired of adjusting lateral everytime I trim on a shooting board 😅
Love your channel, truly enjoy your vids as a hand tool woodworker i have alot of respect for your craft. I prefer citric acid (normally next to the bicarb in the shops)instead of vinegar as its a bit faster, the fence you can still get new (replica) on ebay, had to get one for my Record version. Keep up making the vids, we love watching them. Love from Cape Town, South Africa

@ethanjacobson4209, that’s called a lapping plate and the powder is lapping powder. Normally the lapping plate is made from cast iron and is used with the powder on lapping stones to keep them within tolerance, some as close as .00001” over 12”.

Very nice restoration. Always enjoy seeing an old hand tool brought back to being a useful tool and not sitting on a show shelf.
Now i have the inspiration to do mine. :)

I picked one of these up years ago at flea market but never got around to cleaning it up. You've inspired me again. Great job!
Nice makeover on a vintage plane to a great user plane.
Evapo-rust is the best remover I have found. Works fantastic and isn’t caustic or hazardous.
Nice job!

I still have my 78 from my apprenticeship 54 years ago 😎
You have a beautiful family and made a very well filmed video. I like your choice of music. Stay Safe!
Nice video, so well made, you are a filmmaker! Stay sharp ❤
I realy like how you depict your work trough that Carl Zeiss lens you have. It makes pop up your fine work. Good choice.
Hello Yuri, beautiful family, your son is growing fast. Very nice video as always, the restoration was nicely done also.

What was the rough stone you used with the powdered grit? Never seen that before. Great work! Nothing like restoring old tools!

Amazing, G. The beauty in the classics.
Love your family initial scenes ❤.
Thanks a lot for sharing your works.

Have you ever thought about investing in a small sand blasting cabinet? Or is that idea blast famous lol.
great work
i would accept this plain any day
i'm thinking about making my first workbench do you have tips for making it ?

There's nothing quite like the first few passes on a freshly restored plane. It's hard to explain if you haven't done it
Bel pezzo
It will last another 100 years
....👉...Evaporust !!! Ok 👍!!
👋👍
Do you really need wrist watch while you are working?
depth stop is missing!
Send him one

It might pain you to know, but I got one at a garage sale in pretty good condition for $10. It's still not in as good condition as yours though!
