Everyone commenting on how fine a woodworker you are. But I think there is an understatement here for how fine a cinematographer you are as well. Everything is on point, every detail, even behind the scenes. With all the respect in the world, it must be hard to live with you 😅! Truely though, it is a treat to watch you work! Fine work and look forward to each new video!
Yurii, this is one of the best videos I've seen on YT!!! If not the best... Everything is perfect... Starting with the filming: light, framing, depth of field, composition of the scene. Everyone can see that before the camera was turned on, there was a careful consideration of what and how you were going to show. You even played the rain in the film, amazing. I know about this, I'm supposedly not the worst photographer! Although not professional. Work and tools - orthodoxly observed traditional, manual technology supported by extensive knowledge. I didn't notice any unnecessary movement in your case, and believe me, I was watching carefully. Very carefully! No taking the easy way out, no shortcuts. Sound without unnecessary bullshit, who knows the job will understand immediately, and who doesn't, the explanation won't help him anyway. Very well-chosen volume of the sounds of work with calm, perfectly selected music. And that perfect planning of the surface shown at the end - a masterpiece!!! You know what I'm telling you? If I had such an item, so beautifully crafted, I would put it in the living room on a separate shelf. So that nothing would distract attention - as a work of applied art. And I wouldn't let anyone touch it!!!! Seriously. You have an incredible talent!
Thank you. I have been a woodworker for awhile and I really learned some good things from you and really appreciate you putting this video up. I also ordered from the resource you provided for the tool maker, he has some really nice pieces. Double thanks
What a beautiful Planing board, all those timbers work so well together. I hope you settle in to your new life and country soon and do more fantastic videos, we love watching you create while we relax with our coffee.
Thank you very much! Yes, I tried to leave before the new year, but unfortunately it is not easy to leave this country. My family is already in Ireland, and I will probably only be able to leave after Trump's inauguration, when he will force Ze to negotiate with Russia.
Hello Sir, I've so enjoyed watching you work and see the genius you've produced, working you work, your fine tolerances, your joints are knee tremblers. They're so, so well made. With huge respect to those watching who aren't woodworkers, your skill is also in maintaining and sharpening your cutting edges of your plane, chisels, tools, etc. I've picked up tips from you in these few minutes that have flown. You've also given me ideas and inspiration in my projects, and I thank you greatly for that. I congratulate you on your amazing work. You are a genius, and the world should be thankful that there are still people like you, with your amazing skills. Very well done, my friend.
Another magnificent piece - you really know how to make that Clifton sing. I also appreciate how you fill those cracks and knots with wood, rather than epoxy - solid craftsmanship. Best wishes to you and your family!
Thank you for your videos, they help and are very entertaining! I wish you all the best and hope you can return to your workbench in the nearest future
Now that is dead flat board. I just recently invested in a couple high quality planes and a few other odds and ends to finish off my hand tool chest and your projects have been a huge inspiration for me to do so. Ive been a power tool only guy my entire career and theres something in me lately thats giving me the urge to get back to basics with my wood working and give the old ways a shot. Seems so therapeutic. Thank you for posting all of your projects
This one of my favorite videos that I have seen recently. I like the way that you fixed the cracks. I am not a fan of epoxy and I am going to use your method in the future. Beautiful work as always. Thanks for posting.
Um trabalho digno de premiação. Luz, câmera, ambiente, sonoridade, trilha sonora, ferramentas todas as manuais, tranquilidade visual e sonora. Parabéns. Você é minha inspiração. Um abraço meu do Brasil. (:
A beautiful piece of woodworking equipment. I have one made from the scraps of my plywood when repairing the floor of my mother-in-law`s garden shed. I modeled it after the planning boards I saw in the Japanese school I work at.
As an aspiring hobbiest. It has been a pleasure to watch your video. Thank you for uploading! Couple that with reading your description, and it's quite an emotional journey. All the best!
Excelente trabajo, perfecto, como todos los trabajos que haces, es un placer verte trabajar. Pero en realidad poco uso tiene este mini banco de trabajo. Aún así….. un trabajo ideal.
Another great video. Thank you for sharing. I really like your channel. Can you tell me what metal ruler (straight edge) you are using and what finish you applied to the board.
I thought it was carbon. I make marquetry and recently I found out that to fill holes it is used. obviously a knot is different, but I did not deduct it there and then I put epoxy I think. This is just an opinion.
Lovely piece!! Can you tell me which species of wood you used? I would like to make one! I see you are still making good use of the Clifton plane! Thanks
It's visually stunning. A jack plane would work far better for the flattening process of a board that long and that wide. I don't understand why you added two boards on the bottom. It would be better to just use one with a face square to the bottom to use as a cleet. Now you just have two boards that act like feet and you will have to find a way to secure the plane board to keep it from moving. Lastly, the long dadoes could be cut with a saw and a wooden guide block. You would still need to chop out the waste and flatten it with the router plane but it would go faster.

You should consider adding a rail to straight side and use it as a shooting board as well.
