Hey, nice video and nice RGBlink Mini. I have a few questions;) I saw that when you use "Fast Cut and PiP" it shows "asynchro" on the cut? For example in 13m36s, 13m52s. What do you think about it? Second question - the Mini + version differs from this only in that it has a Chromakey feature? And the last question - I can do streaming to the Internet via USB or Ethernet - by connecting the RGBlink to a computer with, for example, the OBS Studio? Can the image sent in this way be sent simultaneously through these two ports? And the last question - is it possible to include graphics in some way - e.g. Logo or lower third?
When recording via the usb, with multiple cameras, does it save a file for each camera? Or just one main file that includes all switches made during recording?
@@GeekyNerdyTechy ok. So if I wanted individual files and an overall master containing switches, I'd either have to record on the rgb and the individual cameras...or connect to streaming service like OBS to be able to record individual cameras as well as an overall master containing switches?
I bought one of these. It’s excellent and well recommended. Does anyone know if this has to be left powered up as there is no on/off switch on the unit? Can I remove the power input connector after each use without risking damage. TIA.
Shane, I'd like to get an easy to use, low cost video switcher with PIP images I can move and resize. I'll use this as a 3-camera view on Skype, audio coming from a separate mic. Will the RGB Mini do what I want? And do camera feeds need to be clean HDMI? Great videos, thanks for your advice! If you recommend a different device, let me know.
Is there a hdmi switcher that will switch between 2 cameras automatically say for instance every 30 seconds ? I would buy one if it existed. It's for my band and we don't have a person to switch the cameras manually. Live streaming situation. Thx.

Many people have commented that the ATEM mini has a really poor USB webcam image (too much contrast / oversaturated compared to the HDMI program out), how does the USB program out on the RGBlink (i.e. using as a webcam) look? Do you know what video format it uses (ATEM uses MJPEG for example)? Thank you!
it has a H.265 and MJPEG option from memory. I will double-check this though and add it to the next video review of their second unit. You can find the manual from the link in the description.
Hey great review if your using on MS teams or zoom can you use this as your video source and then have your audio source via a separate mic and audio mixer
You can but the analog audio input won't be in sync like the HDMI inputs. There'll be about a 5ms delay give or take. This is really common on all analog signals vs HDMI signals. There's no way to offset the sync in this unit yet. There's nothing to stop you though sending the mixer into a HDMI input (via a computer or similar) and selecting that as the audio source and that will work fine and be in sync.
...or could you use the L1’s usb output to the computer and select it in windows as the video source for OBS, then do an audio offset in Obs. Would that work?
Thanks for the great video. I've ordered one of these units for a band venue, which will have a big screen and projector fed by one or two fixed cam/s, one roving wireless cam and one computer feeding pre-recorded graphics, photos, videos etc. All audio will be external, through the house mixer and amps. But we need effectively three outputs: one local operator's monitor for the preview (the on-board LCD is too small, and we'd rather not buy ANOTHER laptop for this), one feed to the projector, and one output for the occasional streaming of events (which can be the big screen 'Tx' feed). Can this device do that please? I can find many USB 3.0 to dual HDMI adaptors but they all need drivers so probably won't work on this unit. Also (and this may be showing my age since messing with video!) how does it deal with the out-of-sync timecode from all the different cameras, and still produce a stable output? Is it that clever? Cheers, Mark
I am not too sure if it will affect the quality of the image in any way using a converter but it should be okay. There's a number of good SDI-HDMI converters out there.
Quick questions for Shane, or anyone that may know. You said that you're using you Mac as a Preview Monitor, does it have to be a computer? I understand that you're doing a screen capture as well, so you have a reason for it, but could we use a USB to HDMI and hook it up to a monitor?
Yo im gonna try and run this unit into my cellphone via USB c hub and instead of running my mixer thru it was gonna use a interface like the irig stream to send the audio to the hub then open up a endoscop app and screen rec with streamlabs mobile. Running the audio sep from the vid mixer to phone will 1)leave all cameras with the same audio sadly but 2) stop any potential audio/video lag live.
Many users of the Atem Mini feedback that there is a gradual audio delay as they stream online. This phenomenon is when an audio source is a plug into the audio input 1 or 2. What about this device?
Hi, I did a quick scan of all the comments posted here. I’m not sure if it was covered or not, I didn’t see it. This question has to do with audio, is the analog input “mic” or “line”? Say I’m mixing a band and I want to send the feed into this switcher, would it a line level signal or a mic level signal. Also, bearing in mind that there’s no “audio offset” on this switcher, would the better option be to send the audio to a separate audio interface and then sync it in OBS(my streaming software). Thank you. Great video by the way.
@@GeekyNerdyTechy Thank you for the follow-up. I just ordered it but it will take 3 weeks to arrive. I hope you have the PTZ explainer up by then. You do exceptional work! Much appreciated.
Hello Shane, nice review again. Having tested and reviewed most of the mini switchers (Atem mini, LivePro L1, YoloBox and now RGBLink Mini), cost aside, any reasons why one shouldn't be going for YoloBox since it can practically do everything these other switchers you have reviewed can do and then can stream directly without needing a PC/external software to stream live?
The YoloBox is very good but it's not as user-friendly without having to look at the screen. I can change inputs easily with hardware buttons on these sort of units and it also has an addition (1 or 2) HDMI inputs depending if you turn the USB3 into a HDMi adapter port. The other thing is the colour output while streaming. The YoloBox is good as well but it loses contrast. That said, the YoloBox can do about 10 things this can't so it's different tech for the right person. I like testing these out to showcase whats available for the right audience.
The PIP function looks perfect for my IRL requirements!! I live stream from my van with a GoPro as "road vision" and a GH5 facing me in the drivers seat. To have both inputs on screen together with audio only from the GH5, sending that output direct to my LiveU Solo is EXACTLY what I need!! Any idea where to pick up in Australia mate? (noted your links were outside AU). Cheers for the solid review btw, you covered everything anyone could want to ask about this device!
Shane (or anyone) I teach live classes via Zoom and. GoToMeeting that we also record. I’ve been looking for a way to switch multiple cameras independently of their software for live classes (very clunky to do inside of their UIs) and also capture/record that feed to add back to the recordings of the classes. It looks like this would do it. What do you think?
I am not too clear on how you do this and how it's hooked up but if you run a computer (or two) into this and then out to stream it will work fine. You can then maybe run the HDMI send to a HDMI capture card possibly? Sorry without knowing the setup it's hard to really give you an accurate answer.
It's a decent product if you need the onboard screen. For live streaming to the internet, the ATEM Mini Pro is a hard switcher to beat thanks to it's direct streaming capability.
You mention that the system doesn't do ChromaKey and that is disappointing. I want to ask if a) there is a setup to work around that, or b) a system that does handle Chromakey that you could recommend?
It works on the RGBlink Mini+ I am pretty sure since they updated the firmware. Another option is th-cam.com/video/39dvzvBeqNk/w-d-xo.html this switcher which is really great.
I personally advise people not to buy the RGB, mainly because as the firmware updates and software updates come along, it is very difficult to find instructions in English. My experience was suddenly my computer no longer recognized the device, nor did any of my streaming softwares.

@@chloe-rgblink9945 Yes, fixed. By buying an ATEM mini extreme ISO 🙂
Hi Shane, we run SDI cables for our cameras, will SDI-HDMI switches effect the quality when using this switch and PTZ cams?
I am not too sure if it will affect the quality of the image in any way using a converter but it should be okay. There's a number of good SDI-HDMI converters out there.
@@GeekyNerdyTechy we're using the blackmagic converters which haven't let us down yet ;)
Does it need a computer connected to do streaming ? or can it go live without ?
Great stuff! How do you hook up the PTZ?
It works on the RGBLink Mini+ Plus version. I have a review on that coming up shortly. :)
@@GeekyNerdyTechy Thank you for the follow-up. I just ordered it but it will take 3 weeks to arrive. I hope you have the PTZ explainer up by then. You do exceptional work! Much appreciated.
do you have any videos working with this on obs? and how to set it up?
I need to do some follow up videos with this. It has been tested and working with OBS though.
@@GeekyNerdyTechy yes please. Waiting for the rgblink + obs video from you. Thank you.
Can you tell me how to install the software on my computer the mini pro
Google RGB Link Mini Desktop Software and download the appropriate software for your operating system.
livepro / rgblink multiview screen ratio same? (livepro was pan)
Do you know if it has an option to flip or invert the video output?
Good question. I didn't see anything in there but I will double-check before I film the video of the second unit.
Can you input 4k and would it downscale to 1080p out? Or would it not work with 4k?
It won't work with a 4k signal. Most cameras allow for 1080p auto downscaling via HDMI
Will it do 4:4:4 Chromakey?
can it auto switch (like with a macro like ATEM mini pro) ?
I don't believe so, no.
Does it have the fade to black feature?
I don't recall seeing it on this unit.
Hello Shane can u connect PTZ cameras
I can't remember. If I didn't mention it, it's a no.
@@GeekyNerdyTechy thanks
Is there any update for android to use as a camers for RGBLink?
What do you mean, sorry?
By any chance, can this switcher create a quad feed with all four sources?
It’s 4 channels HDMI input and one HDMI signal output
I have seen different prices in then United States ranging from $290 to near $400 do you have any idea why this happens ?
Great video
I am not too sure. It could be import tax-related possibly or one company got a better deal. I am not too sure how it works over there mate, sorry.
Hi, Can you do a review of AVMETRIX VS0601 switcher?
Hi Jude, yep! I have one on the way in the next week or two.
@@GeekyNerdyTechy Thank you so much.
Does this support interlaced output?
It’s 4 channels HDMI input and one HDMI signal output
@@chloe-rgblink9945 I meant does it support 50i output
@@AlvinLeeVesperyou mean does is support 1080i50 output?
@@chloe-rgblink9945 yup that's what I meant
@@AlvinLeeVesper yes,it's support 50i output.and RGBlink have new version minipro2022 now.do you have interested in it?
is there a automatic mode great video
I'm not sure what you mean sorry?
Does anyone know if I can connect my ipad and screenshare as one camera angle? THANk YOU
You may need a HDMI adapter to get that to work. I am not sure if there's dongles for that but if there is, it should work.
@@GeekyNerdyTechy thank you plenty!!! Appreciate you!!! =)
My RGBlink mini have no that PST in that Usb I don't know why?
we broadcast college sports; do you recommend this product?
It's a decent product if you need the onboard screen. For live streaming to the internet, the ATEM Mini Pro is a hard switcher to beat thanks to it's direct streaming capability.
can it be connected to an external projector screen?
Yes. You can use it like that with the HDMI output.
So this is a repackaged FEELWORLD LIVEPRO L1/L2 isn't it?
you can't record on this unit?
It doesn't record. You can record via a computer using Open Broadcaster Software if it can handle video.
wow !
Is it the Atem Mini or Mini Pro you also show?
You mention that the system doesn't do ChromaKey and that is disappointing. I want to ask if a) there is a setup to work around that, or b) a system that does handle Chromakey that you could recommend?
It works on the RGBlink Mini+ I am pretty sure since they updated the firmware. Another option is th-cam.com/video/39dvzvBeqNk/w-d-xo.html this switcher which is really great.
Question why would i pay for this when i can do this in OBS for free? Maybe im ignorant or its just the lack of knowledge but i dont see it?
It's kinda weird that they wouldn't use an USB-C connection.
i saw this produk before but difference name....
I think RGBLink is the company that OEM out to other brands possibly.
@@GeekyNerdyTechy maybe... the other brand is liverpro L1.... look like a same produk
I bought Livepro L1 it the same unit nothing diferent
@@isaiasmarte526 ok thank you.. so which is better
@@ZuanhardieFamily I dont know I like Livepro L1. but it get very hot
I can’t get my mini pro to talk to my computer i think i have the correct software
Are you using a mac?
Wow it looks like roland V 02-hd
I personally advise people not to buy the RGB, mainly because as the firmware updates and software updates come along, it is very difficult to find instructions in English. My experience was suddenly my computer no longer recognized the device, nor did any of my streaming softwares.
Let's go BMD, you're not showing the innovation and value that you were known for. Look at all these feature rich, no name solutions out there.
Shaaaane…in the blues??
This is the same unit as the Feelworld Live Pro L1 with a different name on it and at the cost of $200.00 more go figure.
This needs bigger buttons.
