      So what you're saying is that the audio follows the HDMI feed and there is no way to lock the audio to a specific feed.

    To solve the sync issue. You can send an audio input into one of the cameras and then pick the audio from there.

    I love how back when I started production people were trying to get away of Linear editing and systems. We were so happy when PC based editing etc came out. I remember getting the Titlemaker 3000 and was so happy. Now people are trying to go back to more of a Linear systems. I mean uyes they are mostly Computer controlled, but still old school.

    Audio sync was also out when showing embedded audio with AFV. Not as badly out of sync when using the Line In input, but looked like it was out of sync by the three frames we usually expect from HDMI.

    The PIP wierd-aspect-ratio modes might be useful for some 3d applications - imagine rendering stuff on two render pcs and then rejoining them as a side-by-side 3d stream going to a projector.

    In the conference world we tend to not use any of the wipe transitions very often. On a personal level I'm not a big fan of the T-Bar. It gets in the way. However, there is one scene that I do like using it. That's when we start the main program with a patriotic theme with a Color Guard and a Vocalist singing the National Anthem. I will also have a computer playing a flag waving in the wind on a loop video. I will then use the T-Bar to very slowly transition between the vocalist and the flag with the main focus being the flag more than the vocalist. After all, that moment isn't about the vocalist. But, it still makes for a nice shot.
    That's been the only time I've ever really used the T-Bar on any switcher. Well, except for the time we pranked our friend Matt with it.
    Thanks for a great video. This little switcher looks like it has some really good simple capabilities with some really good stuff hidden under the hood.

    • @aaronlandon314
      @aaronlandon314 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      My primary use of a T-Bar besides slow transitions is to have the ability to bail out or reverse before anyone else can really see what's going on if say video playback didn't fire or I called up the wrong camera.

    I looked up their website and they have firmware 0.40 dated 30.10. which is supposed to fix the compressed aspect ratio in preview and enable selecting one fixed audio source.
    The things that bother me are:
    1) Is it possible scale / zoom / crop a HDMI input that can be necessary in case the camera outputs 16:10 or other aspect ratio and there are black bars.
    2) How does the PIP mode work? Is is possible to assign it to be activated automatically when switching to a certain camera or at least enabling a preset PIP easily using single button press?

    Just confirming, you need a program to record all 4 video inputs and audio? It needs to be hooked into like OBS or something to capture everything? This is my biggest problem. The Atem mini pro you can record your entire video right on the atem mini. No hooking it into OBS none of that. Just if you just wanna do something like a product review.

    Hi. First of all: those are some great tutorials containing great enthusiam and professionalism.
    Secondly, I have one question which I can't look up online, without having the product in my hands - but maybe you could provide me with this answer. If I turn off the Livepro L1 and switch it back on, will it have the exact same video-output that I had before shutting it down? Does the screen settings stay the same?
    Specifically I need a mixed video (using your beloved T-bar) on startup.
    I'd love an answer, so I can click [buy] !

    • @GeekyNerdyTechy
      @GeekyNerdyTechy  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Sebastian, I am pretty certain it remembers the prior frame rate settings. I am not sure if it remembers every last setting I'll see if I can get you a proper answer once I test that out. The T-Bar settings do stick from my experience after plugging it back in.

Not sure if i’ll make sense but what im trying to say is, say i have 4 cameras, they all record, then after i do d take, i play’em all back, then do my switching, then that feeds to say finalcut pro and record the way i had made the “live” switching between cameras. Does it work that way too? Basically i play guitar live in front of the cameras, then i do my post editing with final cut pro and gArage band, sync them together in final cut pro then mute all my camera audio, living the post edit with the garage band audio.

      There's always a hair of lag with HDMI cameras. They sync the audio and video together and this will vary on your cameras.

    • @erskinhansen1715
      @erskinhansen1715 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@GeekyNerdyTechy I'm getting lag by going through OBS so I was hoping this device could give me less lag, if any lag, back to the monitor if I sent a clean signal out (when swapping between the OBS signal). The lag is slight through OBS, but if you're watching them side by side you can just notice it. I don't mind the video lag as much, it's the audio lag that's the major problem at the moment. My use case is eSports where there's a large stream monitor serving stats and in-game live video w/ audio to the room. Then there are gaming monitors receiving the fastest signal which will be out of sync in video and audio. I don't know that anything can solve the sync issue (at least not completely) except for maybe a wireless transmitter & receiver from Hollyland Mars. Because my priority is the audio at the moment, I may need an audio extractor and use that sound independent of the video before it hits OBS or some other lag inducing device.

    I really enjoyed watching this video. I notice you've used quite a few switchers including the Blackmail Mini Atem which I also tried but sent back as it didn't do what I wanted.
    If I tell you what I need it to do, I'm hoping that you can advice me what is best for me.
    I'm a video dj who hosts karaoke too. I use a program called PCDJ Dex3 which deals with the video Dj side of things. I occasionally use an ipad for a separate karaoke player, so I want a separate Video DJ screen showing music videos from my Macbook Air, a separate Karaoke program from my ipad and would like to transition between both using one output going to several TV screens around the venue. I would also like to put a camera on the person singing and crossfade a cobination of the karaoke lyrics from my ipad mixed with the video of the person singing onto the venues TV simultaneously. As the karaoke song is finishing, I would then like to seamlessly crossfade the main venue screen to my macbook and mix into my music videos from PCDjDex3.
    I would also like a camera on the crowd where I could pan around them whilst the music videos are playing and mix the crowd videos with the music, maybe using PIP or a crossfire effect. Would lagging occur on the karaoke lyrics which obviously would need to be 100% to keep the singer in sync with the music.
    Your advice on what to use would be most appreciated. Would the Liverpool L1 Mini do the job.
    Finally, can you reccomend a camera I could use on the crowd that I could zoom/pan in and out on the crowd?
    Thanks for any advice.
    Dave.

    What sync offset settings do you think I should enter in OBS to sync my OBS audio with the switcher?

      I never got it working and they said it didn't work properly so hopefully soon. It looks more like something that is a standalone unit right now.

      The company sent me a software download link for the Windows version of the control software, and it works OK. A little delay at times with the command to the L1. I asked about the non-working FX selection, and they said that is for the L2 model which can control the movement of the camera (Pan/Tilt). The L2 model is not available as of yet. I was hoping for some additional special effects like green screen or recording directly to an external hard drive.

      I had the same question. I watched the video twice. At 4:46 you talk about using an Elgato capture to stream from HDMI. But it is not clear whether the USB 3.0 is sufficient or high enough quality to stream so we do not need to buy the Elgato video capture to run off the hdmi. Otherwise the explanations were very helpful, especially the out of sync audio. I am thinking that I will continue to use my Scarlett 2i2 for the audio portion of the stream.

      No need of a capture card.. it is a just like a capture card built for 4 inputs at a time.. the machine itself is a capture card ... It is only HDMI input port's (4) 1 HDMI output n 1 USB 3.0 output
