This is the fifth or sixth video that I've watched on this replacement. The explanations from start to finish and the camera angles you were able to achieve are by far the best yet. Thank you for taking the time to do this video!!
This is a major contributing factor as to why I have recently pulled the plug on the US domestic automaker products. Kudos to the engineers to design a climate control gear that breaks in due time. I SWEAR that this is a feature designed into it. There's no way that the aftermarket replacement is more expensive to produce. It is a simpler design as well. Why else would a person go through the effort of creating a gear like the original?
ABSOLUTELY CORRECT.....these car companies in North America have been doing this shit to their loyal customers for 60 or 70 years.......they will NEVER stop until we WAKE UP and stop them.
Thanks for this video. It’s funny I’ve encountered a lot of these “common”Cruze issues on my 2013. It’s almost like these OEM parts are absolute garbage 👿
Try this one 2013 Chevy Cruze 1.8 L base model... turn the heater on defrost defrost is working blowing hot Heat have the fan on 1 blows fine put it on two and three and four blows fine put the heater on five and when you hear the are kicking stronger from turning it up to 5 or 6 on your and it seems the increasing of the are ends up making my face vents kick on... I can't turn the heater up past four seems like the are coming out of the defroster too fast and something moving maybe the blending door
This video is great! BUT I have a question.. which gear is broken if my air is only coming from feet and defrost and not switching to front vents because I heard you say it depends on if it’s blowing from defrost or feet? But I’m getting both of those.. just not front vents?

I agree! This video actually shows you the removal of all parts.
Thank you for the detailed video, definitely helped me replace the gear with ease. The links for what you used was also very helpful!!

I’m going to attempt this myself. Does unhooking the cluster panel cause a code to be thrown? Just want to be prepared. Thanks!

A well explained video.

Hmm probably bottom one i think, you could try a long screwdriver to check and spin gear open to test
In Minnesota at -25F you do need the feet heat. Unfortunately.
@@DanielBrown-nj3th 0°F is about as cold as it gets here in lower Michigan, feet heat is great for that!
what about the rear defrost window on the cruze.
@@shaunsfrench1942 thats done by the wires in the glass heating up, no air is blown on the back glass. The vents back there just go to the trunk.
@@Mr95Kenny IK that there is no vents back there, just it has no defrost working either.
@@shaunsfrench1942 i haven’t had that problem yet, but could be burnt out wire on the glass, the switch, relay, or fuse.
I manually open mine, but had to put a tie wrap to keep it open, it kept closing
